Chapter 115 – The Heavenly Dragon Brigade’s Exploits (Four)

Chapter 115 – The Heavenly Dragon Brigade's Exploits (4)

‘This is strange.’

But even in this situation, Yu-jin remained composed. Though slightly taken aback, he wasn’t as shocked as the others. Instead, he found himself questioning the scene before him.

‘Until now, the martial artists of the Western Regions have never once attacked civilians. Their targets have always been the martial artists of the Central Plains. But here, they’ve attacked civilians. Are the ones who created this horrific scene truly from the Western Regions?’

As he continued to ponder, Yu-jin’s face contorted as a single fact struck his mind.

‘Come to think of it, there was them. The damn Life Savers.’

The Life Savers.

They were a group Yu-jin had added in the original story to put the Central Plains in greater peril and make the protagonist, Kang Yong-hoon, stand out. At first glance, the name might suggest a benevolent organization, but the reality was the exact opposite.

They were a group of madmen who claimed not to save lives, but to send the living to the Pure Land by killing them.

Beyond mere cruelty, some of them even reveled in cannibalism.

They were a group that would never be sanctioned by Buddhism, yet the Great Dharma Master of Shaking Heaven had acknowledged their existence. However, they were strictly forbidden from ever joining him.

‘That’s not what’s important right now.’

In truth, what concerned Yu-jin was not their identity, their brutal methods, or their madness.

It was their bodies, which allowed them to fight until death without knowing pain, that was the biggest headache for Yu-jin.

‘When it comes to understanding the human body, India, which is even farther than the Western Regions, is supreme. And the place most influenced by India is the Potala Palace. Their knowledge of the human body is so advanced that the Central Plains can’t even compare.’

The Potala Palace, with its profound understanding of the body, had poured its efforts into creating warriors who felt no pain at all—and these were the Life Savers.

Though the side effect of this process was madness.

The fact that these already powerful users of protective auras also felt no pain was truly terrifying. They were literally men who could fight until they died.

It was no exaggeration to say that if the Martial Alliance had the Heavenly Dragon Brigade, the Potala Palace had the Life Savers.

‘Aargh! Why did I write such characters in?’

Regretting it now was too late, so Yu-jin collected his thoughts.

‘In terms of sheer martial power, we might be superior. But does the Heavenly Dragon Brigade possess the same venom and tenacity to match those mad dogs who fight until their last breath?’

Yu-jin was truly skeptical on that point. So far, they had followed the commands of him and the other officers without a single person falling behind, but most of them were novices experiencing their first real battle. When it came to combat, they were lacking compared to the battle-hardened Life Savers.

‘This battle will be difficult.’

Yu-jin instinctively felt that things would not go smoothly. And no sooner had that thought crossed his mind than a wave of auras, combining madness, killing intent, and fighting spirit, began to approach the Heavenly Dragon Brigade.

***

A vision of hell was unfolding in the mortal world. Countless people had lost their lives, and their heavily mutilated corpses were piled into mountains. The blood that flowed from their bodies formed a sea.

It was a horrific sight that could truly be called a hellscape. And in the middle of this hell, numerous women were being violated.

“Kuhahaha! You bitch! Try screaming!”

A man with a shaved head, having thrust his member into the flower of a naked woman, moved his hips wildly and shouted.

But the woman, who had already been violated by many, simply stared blankly into the air, showing no reaction.

The man emptied a yellowish-white fluid inside her and then stood up.

“How boring.”

To him, who savored a woman’s pain, a woman who showed no reaction was a worthless human being.

“Go to the Pure Land in death.”

*Crack!*

With those words, the man snapped the woman’s neck. Though he wore the robes of a monk, no one in the world would ever call him one.

He was merely a Rakshasa disguised as a monk. After taking a life, the man’s gaze fell upon a woman who, despite being violated countless times, still clung to her child.

She was a beauty in her mid-thirties, but it was the fact that she was with a child that stimulated the man’s desires.

“A mother sacrificing herself for her child. Is there anything more beautiful? This Buddha deems it admirable and shall grant you the honor of feeling this Buddha’s presence.”

With those words, the man spread the woman’s legs and thrust his re-energized member into her.

The woman let go of her child and squeezed her eyes shut. She didn’t want to show her child such a sight, nor did she have the courage to look at her child while being forcibly violated. But the man did not want that.

“Open your eyes! And scream with pleasure! If you don’t, I will end your child’s life!”

“…Haaah, ahn!”

Such is the power of a mother’s love that the woman obeyed the man’s humiliating command. She didn’t care what happened to her; a mother’s love for her child was truly remarkable.

“Master Ninche.”

As the man, Ninche, was about to release himself inside the woman again, another man, drenched in blood, approached him.

This man also wore monk’s robes and had a shaved head, but it would be a misnomer to call him a monk.

“It seems some interesting fellows have arrived. A group of young men and women, all of whom possess exceptional martial skill.”

At those words, Ninche pulled out his member. He then casually waved a hand toward the child. The child’s neck snapped, and it died instantly.

“No, no!”

The woman shrieked at the death of her child. She glared at Ninche with eyes burning with hatred, but Ninche simply stomped on her neck, breaking it.

“A bloody fight is more fun than a woman, after all.”

Ninche and about thirty other Life Savers began to move toward the Heavenly Dragon Brigade.

***

The expressions of the Heavenly Dragon Brigade’s warriors hardened as they felt the crazed killing intent approaching them. The murderous aura that now assailed their senses was not that of a human, but of a wild beast.

In a way, being mad meant being pure, and the killing intent emanating from the Life Savers certainly had something in common with the natural killing intent of a wild animal.

Yu-jin also frowned, glaring at the approaching Life Savers.

‘I’ll have to unleash my power up to the Transformation Realm.’

The Martial Alliance had ordered Yu-jin to reveal his true (?) power in situations just like this, and Yu-jin intended to follow that order to the letter.

These men were not opponents to be taken lightly like the previous martial artists from the Western Regions.

Na Ye-jin, Kang Yong-hoon, and the other high-level martial artists, though not knowing the details about the Life Savers as Yu-jin did, exuded a sharp aura and remained vigilant.

“Everyone, listen carefully to what I am about to say. They are a group called the Life Savers, a band of madmen who exist and yet do not exist in the Western Regions martial world. They are Rakshasas who live only to kill. Their martial arts are formidable, but more importantly, they feel no pain.”

At the words that they felt no pain, a murmur went through the crowd. Not feeling pain was unnatural, but to some martial artists, it sounded incredibly useful.

It would prevent them from collapsing due to pain.

But the drawbacks were also clear.

One could die anticlimactically from not knowing their own condition, and because it went against the natural order, the practice had been abandoned in the Central Plains, used only in some external martial arts.

“If they feel no pain, how are we supposed to fight them?”

Paeng Won-jun asked with a grim face. His question was the same one everyone present was thinking.

“Fighting them is not particularly difficult. Though they don’t feel pain, their physical functions deteriorate with every injury, and they will eventually die when they reach their limit. What is crucial, however, is that we must attack their vital points to end their lives as quickly as possible. If the battle descends into a chaotic melee, we will be in danger, so strive to kill the enemies swiftly.”

Everyone nodded at Yu-jin’s words, but their expressions did not improve much. Most of the people here were from prestigious sects or families and were more accustomed to formal duels.

Not many of them were experienced in chaotic brawls. Yu-jin knew this well, which was why he felt the need to deal with them quickly.

As the Heavenly Dragon Brigade finished their preparations, the Life Savers finally stopped about thirty yards away.

For martial artists like them, it was a distance they could cross in an instant if they chose to. It also meant that the battle was about to begin.

“The brats of the Central Plains have done well to come here. Little do you know this is a hellscape, kuhahaha!”

Ninche looked at Yu-jin and the other members of the Heavenly Dragon Brigade. His gaze then fixed precisely on Na Ye-jin, who stood out as the most beautiful among the many lovely women.

“Woman, I shall grant you the honor of serving this Buddha. Prostrate yourself before me at once and receive this Buddha’s member.”

At Ninche’s words, the faces of every warrior in the Heavenly Dragon Brigade contorted in rage.

Na Ye-jin herself, the many female warriors who respected her, and the male warriors who secretly admired her were all furious.

But the one who was most enraged was, of course, Yu-jin.

“Shut your mouth!”

A roar erupted from Yu-jin’s lips. It was a massive shout that echoed in all directions. How dare he covet his woman? It was a sin worthy of burning in the eternal flames of hell.

But Ninche’s face, as he looked at Yu-jin, was filled only with derision.

“Kekeke, just like the brats of the Central Plains, you’re good at barking like a dog! For a noisy mutt like you, a beating is the only cure.”

As he mocked Yu-jin, Ninche suddenly unleashed a crimson palm force. It was a vicious palm technique known as the Blood Breaker Palm, unique to the Life Savers, which could sever all the blood vessels in the body.

Ninche wanted to see Yu-jin scream in agony after being struck by his palm force.

But the world did not turn as easily as he thought.

Yu-jin met the crimson palm force with a silver aura that shone like starlight.

*Kwwaaaaang!*

A massive explosion erupted, and the resulting shockwave forced all the warriors to form protective barriers around themselves. A moment later, when the dust settled, the members of the Heavenly Dragon Brigade felt elation, while the Life Savers were bewildered.

After the clash between Yu-jin’s sword strike and Ninche’s palm strike, Ninche had been pushed back exactly three steps.

Compared to Yu-jin, who hadn’t moved an inch, this meant that he was weaker.

“Was that all you had to back up your blustering?”
