Chapter 156: Demon King Lilith
Chapter 156: Demon King Lilith
“When facing a powerful enemy, shouldn’t we unite against them? Running away won’t solve the problem—everyone, stay here!
All members of the Demon King’s Army, hear my command: any creature attempting to leave shall be executed without mercy!”
The voice of Demon King Mephistopheles echoed throughout the entire forest, accompanied by beams of light shooting into the sky. Waves of Magic Power, no weaker than Demigod Rank, continuously surged around the Dragonkin.
The Demon King’s Army had long since enveloped the entire Mesopotamia Forest.
Lvqi watched this scene weakly, the corners of his mouth involuntarily curling upward as wild laughter reverberated endlessly through the forest.
All of this was the result of Lvqi’s efforts over the past century. Relying on Alien Space, he had continuously transported top graduates from the Demon King Academy to Mesopotamia, allowing them to dominate the Magical Beasts in the forest and become part of the Demon King’s Army.
Using the Unification Array, he made the Magical Beasts willingly pledge allegiance to the Demon King Academy’s top graduates. They activated the Unification Array for them, offering their own Soul Power, allowing Demon Race graduates whose strength had not yet reached Demigod Rank to instantly Breakthrough to Demigod Rank, becoming Demonic Demigods temporarily serving the Demon King. These hundreds of Demigods were proof of his success.
He had not betrayed the Demon King’s trust, including the earlier Divine-Rank Teleportation. The Demon King always entrusted him with the most critical tasks, and everything had unfolded exactly as the Demon King envisioned—he had fulfilled every mission without fail.
“Your Highness Lilith, do you see? This old man has done it! Hahaha!”
Lvqi lay on the ground like a puddle of mud, his entire body rotting away. In the mire, only a faintly beating heart and his distorted features remained.
“You have done it, accomplished a feat even Honored Father could not achieve.”
Lilith watched this scene with a grim expression.
Sylph’s Divine Tree’s ‘Abyss’ possessed a distorting effect—a change of the Soul. The Soul is the key to governing the body; when the Soul twists and changes, the body follows suit. The Demon King’s Domain protection was not omnipotent, and during the teleportation, Lvqi, as the conductor, had inevitably made some contact with the Divine Tree.
Within Lvqi’s body lay not only his own Soul but also the Souls of several other Demonic Demigods. These Souls were mostly fragmented and incomplete, pieced together haphazardly, with rejection and distortion constantly clashing.
“Your Highness Lilith, I entrust it to you—the future of the Demon Race is in your hands. This old man has no regrets left.”
Lvqi’s features continued to shift incessantly—one moment appearing on his exposed heart, the next twisting into the surrounding mud. The only reason Lvqi remained alive was because his Demigod Rank Soul frantically struggled to maintain stability. Yet, the effect of ‘Abyss’ persisted relentlessly: unable to use Magic Power, unable to use Skills, his body constantly twisting—it was a fate worse than death.
“Come to think of it, there’s one thing this old man hasn’t done yet—the breeding experiment between Goblins and Primordial Spirits remains unfinished. Hahaha.
Your Highness Lilith, breeding…”
Lilith did not allow Lvqi to continue. His Soul was no longer his own; the Souls of multiple Demigods were also within, chaotic and distorted. Much of what he said now was uncontrollable or influenced by the Souls of others. To let him continue would only tarnish the dignity of Demon King’s Army Cadre Lvqi.
Lilith raised her hand and clenched her fist, as if compressing the very air itself. The pool of blood left by Lvqi, along with the soil beneath it, was compressed until both vanished entirely, leaving only a massive circular crater fifty meters in diameter on the land.
The soul energy from Lvqi and the other Transcendent Demigod-level powerhouses flowed into Lilith’s hand. Within this soul power lingered a faint trace of the Abyss, yet Lilith absorbed it all into her body without reservation.
The Demon King Seed within Lilith awakened, unleashing a terrifying surge of magic power. Strange, pale pink patterns began to spread across Lilith’s skin, visible through her clothing as they extended from her neck to her left eye. A faint golden light appeared at the center of her left eye.
Her race had evolved from Succubus to Demon King Lilith. This was not merely the awakening of an Anti-God Technique but also a racial evolution, transforming her into the strongest race beneath the Deities.
The Demon King was not merely a title but a race—one that could evolve and be born. Unlike the Hero, a status bestowed by the Deities, the Demon King was entirely self-evolved through one’s own power.
The light in Lilith’s eyes pierced through the golden barrier, allowing her to directly observe the situation inside.
She did not turn to leave but instead approached the barrier alongside Demon King Mephistopheles.
Demon King Mephistopheles looked at his daughter’s current state, his eyes filled with immense pride. He had long anticipated Lilith’s evolution; otherwise, there would have been no reason to risk bringing a Demon Race future who was not even level seventy to the Elven Divine Tree. This was the price.
The effects of the Abyss were not solely negative; there were positive aspects as well. The various characteristics of devouring, fusion, rejection, and decomposition could be harnessed if properly guided.
The Divine Tree Sylph did not guide this power but instead released it recklessly. Demon King Mephistopheles, leveraging the properties of Retrograde Light, created an opportunity to utilize this power. Lvqi and Lilith served as a stark contrast.
All the negative, twisted, and rejecting forces were concentrated on Lvqi, while only the positive effects remained with Lilith. This was all the work of Demon King Mephistopheles. Even if he had not ascended to Demon God this time, the future of the Demon Race was now assured.
He had actually confessed all of this to Lvqi in advance. Trusting those he employed without doubt, Mephistopheles had no concerns about Lvqi’s loyalty. Lvqi was entirely willing to sacrifice himself for the future of the Demon Race. However, Mephistopheles had withheld this from Lilith. In the past, Lilith had held great favor for several Demon Race Cadres, to the point of regarding them as fathers.
But Mephistopheles believed that with Lilith’s intelligence, she must have guessed the truth upon contacting the Divine Tree; otherwise, she would not have remained so silent.
“Let’s begin! Both the Dragon God and the Divine Tree shall die here today!”
Demon King Mephistopheles completely ignored Dragon God Radon’s golden barrier, passing through it without any hindrance.
Dozens of Giant Dragons soared into the sky, charging toward Demon King Mephistopheles in an attempt to stop him.
But with just a glance from Demon King Lilith, the dozens of Demonic Demigods among the Dragonkin hesitated for a moment. This was a new monarch of the Demon Race.
In that brief moment of hesitation, Demon King Mephistopheles had already entered the barrier, facing the newly ascended Demon King and the numerous Demonic Demigods who had now surrounded him.
The Demigod Rank Dragonkin were actually unable to put up a fight, which only goes to show how thoroughly prepared Demon King Mephistopheles was. Faced with such a sudden assault—a clash between Deities—even Demigod Rank powerhouses could do little to resist.
