Chapter 221: Rallying Hearts
Chapter 221: Rallying Hearts
The fifth-tier Hungry Ghost Shara was making final preparations, infusing the Ability Fruit Legion with activation energy. A great battle was imminent, and this was precisely the time when Kamiyu needed capable people.
But the next moment, the dense canopy of the Fear Emperor Tree was pierced by large fireballs. In the sky, a legion of Pegasus-like creatures descended diagonally from above toward Kamiyu’s Sanctuary, resembling streaks of meteors.
“Look, those people are riding skeletal-looking warhorses,” one player said.
“Look closely, their leader has a shining, platinum particle-formed cross banner behind him,” another player pointed out.
“So cool, are they players? Are they on our side?” a nearby player asked with a puzzled expression.
Xiao Zhong, standing nearby, saw the slight curl of Kamiyu’s lips and knew that those flying in the sky were reinforcements for Miss Jia. At this moment, any player daring to come to Longming City, and riding such obviously formidable warhorses, must be exceptionally skilled experts.
“Hmm, those are Death Battle Skeleton Steeds with blue thunderous ghost flames. I haven’t seen these skeleton horses from the Hell Valley in many years. So they’ve been tamed by human players now?” Mephisto remarked.
Kamiyu let out an “oh” of realization. She had seen this artifact in the Construction Sage—capable of flying through the air and traveling a thousand miles in a day—a one-time-use Ancestral Legendary Artifact. Li Changde was actually this generous?
The Death Battle Skeleton Steeds were extremely fast. In no time, the entire Invincible Guild, numbering several hundred members, had landed in the public square of the Sanctuary’s Core Zone.
Kamiyu saw that each guild warrior was covered in dust, their faces and bodies smudged, yet every one of them was full of spirit and vigor, appearing not the least bit tired.
From atop his skeleton horse, Li Changde saw the several hundred newcomer players in the public square looking at them with curious eyes. After a brief moment of thought, he dismounted, his armor clanking loudly as he hurried over to Kamiyu. Kneeling on one knee, he declared loudly, “All 687 members of the Invincible Guild have now returned, awaiting the commands of Saintess Lady Kamiyu.”
Vice Guild Leader Wu Yong immediately understood the Guild Leader’s intention. He was bolstering Kamiyu’s standing, enhancing her prestige, stabilizing the morale within the Sanctuary, and simultaneously boosting the confidence of their own guild members in Lady Kamiyu. Truly worthy of the Guild Leader.
Thus, Wu Yong signaled to the captains of the first, second, and third lines to instruct their team members. Everyone followed Guild Leader Li Changde’s example, dismounting one after another. The armor of hundreds of people produced an even louder clanking sound, shaking the hearts of the surrounding newcomer players.
“Is this what a guild is like?”
“So impressive. At this level, it can’t just be called a guild anymore; it’s practically an army.”
“Look, all their equipment is at least Legendary Tier or above. Each one looks battle-hardened.”
“Exactly, the lowest among them is at least level 25. So strong.”
“In that case, Miss Kamiyu must be incredible.”
The next second, something even more heart-shaking, blood-boiling, and utterly awe-inspiring occurred.
The remaining warriors of the Invincible Guild all shouted in unison, “All soldiers of the Invincible Guild have now returned, awaiting the commands of Saintess Lady Kamiyu!”
Kamiyu’s heart raced wildly, her blood pressure nearly spiking to 190. Li Changde’s move had greatly boosted the Sanctuary’s cohesion.
Kamiyu’s face flushed red, feeling utterly lightheaded as if her feet weren’t touching the ground but floating on clouds. She was at a loss for words, her mind in complete disarray. “Hah, this Li Changde, what is he playing at, putting me on such a pedestal?”
She boldly thought to herself: No wonder emperors and generals of the past loved pulling these kinds of stunts.
“Even these powerhouses listen to Miss Kamiyu? Is Miss Kamiyu’s status in Crimson Earth really that high?” one player exclaimed in surprise.
“Miss Kamiyu is amazing,” another player said.
“Now we’re saved. With so many powerhouses here, we can tackle the Mine together instead of starting from scratch,” a more clear-headed newcomer player remarked.
“Miss Kamiyu is right. As long as we unite, we can definitely overcome this crisis—no, we can even destroy the Fear Emperor Tree and wipe out those Ability Users,” a newcomer player declared with firm belief.
Those who had considered sneaking away earlier were now awed by the scene, their confidence in Kamiyu greatly bolstered.
With lightning-fast hands, she pulled a Mind-Steadying Potion from her backpack space and downed it in one gulp, just like Jack, forcing herself to calm down.
The “swish, ding” sound from her Interface Panel helped Kamiyu regain her composure. “Ah, that feels much better now.”
Kamiyu raised her eyebrows, widened her eyes, and lifted her right hand like a leader, saying, “Thank you all for your efforts. You’ve worked hard. Everyone, please disband for now and take a short rest.”
Though Kamiyu played the part well, she wasn’t a cold, ruthless leader looking down from on high. She knew how to show concern for her subordinates.
“Thank you, Lady Kamiyu,” the Invincible group chorused loudly.
Li Changde, understanding Kamiyu’s personality, stepped forward and waved his hand, instructing Wu Yong to organize everyone for rest.
Kamiyu and the others then made their way to the Black Sphere Room.
Formalities were kept to a minimum. After brief self-introductions, the leadership from the student newcomer players and Li Changde’s side got acquainted.
Those with Student Council backgrounds had already been cleared out. Now, in the Black Sphere Room, the student players were represented by Xiao Zhong, Wang Fang, and Chu Feng, who was still in the Stadium Instance Dungeon.
“The Black Sphere can be controlled like this? Impressive, young man,” Li Changde marveled as he watched the Black Sphere’s display, occasionally manipulating the tablet to change the Black Sphere Live Stream’s view. “Crystal clear, absolutely crystal clear. You can even see who’s slacking off or dozing.”
“Guild Leader Li, just call me Xiao Zhong,” Xiao Zhong said politely.
“If you’d entered the Black Sphere’s circle and Crimson Earth two years earlier, you’d surely have become another regional powerhouse,” Guild Leader Li remarked earnestly.
Xiao Zhong also glanced toward Kamiyu. “If not for Miss Kamiyu’s timely rescue, my classmates and I would have long been devoured by Ability Users.”
Kamiyu smiled, thinking to herself: Xiao Zhong may be honest, but he knows how to handle people and show gratitude.
Xiao Zhong said, “The Black Sphere’s live broadcast technology is incredibly advanced. With this technology, it’s as if we’ve gained divine sight, always seizing the initiative. Combined with Miss Kamiyu’s Magic Cannon, we can achieve a highly effective, pinpoint accuracy—hitting exactly where we aim.”
Without waiting for Kamiyu to explain the next task, Li Changde, who was familiar with her habits, immediately understood. “I’ve seen it above the Sanctuary—our number of Magic Cannons is still somewhat insufficient. Next, should we go gather materials?”
