Chapter 275: The Theft Plan
Chapter 275: The Theft Plan
Since Kamiyu annihilated the 300,000-strong Fruit Ability User Army in one fell swoop and dealt a heavy blow to the Fear Emperor, both sides had temporarily ceased hostilities.
The Fear Emperor was licking its wounds, while Kamiyu was consolidating her gains and continuing to develop. She had already acquired new technologies such as Skill Fruits, airships, and rockets. The terrain outside the Sanctuary had become even more rugged, making it easier to defend and harder to attack.
Even if the Fear Emperor went all-in next time and sent a million-strong army, Kamiyu wouldn’t be afraid, because time was on her side. The longer she and her Sanctuary had to develop, the stronger she would become.
In the Black Sphere War Room, everyone saw that the Fear Emperor’s Ability Users were mobilizing en masse to kidnap and capture Players, indicating that the Fear Emperor was at the end of its rope.
“The Fear Emperor has no troops left to deploy,” Kamiyu said, watching the images in the Black Sphere.
“I dealt it such a heavy blow that it needs to perform Blood Sacrifices on humans to recover its strength. But instead of taking the easy or obvious route, it’s going after Players, expending immense manpower and resources. The Fear Emperor can no longer easily sacrifice ordinary humans.”
“So, we must not let the Fear Emperor have its way. We won’t give it even a sliver of a chance to recover,” Kamiyu declared.
“Agreed,” everyone chimed in, supporting Kamiyu’s idea. A Rescue Unit composed of Veteran Players equipped with Beast Tamer professions immediately set out.
“Wait a moment,” Jack keenly seized the opportune moment. “To capture Players, the Ability Users are likely all mobilized. Plus, during the rescue, the situation will be chaotic. We can take advantage of this time to stir things up.”
Kamiyu and Li Changde’s eyes lit up. Kamiyu said with interest, “Good idea. Are you suggesting we set up an Ambush near the Tree Wall? Plant Poison Element bombs in advance in case the airship Battle Plan fails?”
“Exactly, but dare you go even deeper and more thoroughly?” Jack’s wording was somewhat ambiguous.
“How much deeper?” Kamiyu’s face flushed slightly as she asked, “Do you mean flying me into the Fear Emperor’s core Tree Trunk zone to wreak havoc?”
“Precisely. While the enemy is undefended, go cause massive destruction. That’s your specialty,” Jack said, looking down at Kamiyu, who was fidgeting with her toes.
The entire Black Sphere War Room fell silent for a moment, but the next second, Xiao Zhong and the others erupted in cheers.
“This is a brilliant idea! The Fear Emperor will think we wouldn’t dare attack, that we’d stay put like it does. But in reality, our ace is already on the move, and she’ll face the Fear Emperor head-on, blasting it to pieces,” Xiao Zhong said, clenching his fist. He then had the Black Sphere immediately broadcast the view of the Fear Emperor Core Zone.
“Wow, it really is thinly defended. Hardly anyone’s there,” an intelligence officer remarked.
“This might actually work. We might be able to deal another heavy blow to the Fear Emperor,” Li Changde said.
Even Mephisto chimed in, “The Fear Emperor is currently recuperating, half-asleep and half-awake. Even if you fly over openly, it might not notice, let alone if you sneak in.”
“The Fear Emperor’s Blood Sacrifice requires an Altar. If you destroy the Altar, even if it captures people, it won’t be able to use them. You’ll also slow down its progress,” Mephisto continued.
Kamiyu stared excitedly at the large screen, committing the terrain of the Fear Emperor Core Trunk Zone to memory.
“Wait, zoom in a bit to the left,” Kamiyu pointed at a tiny dot on the screen.
“Yes, it’s an area with neatly arranged trees. Zoom in further.” Kamiyu walked right up to the large screen and pointed at the spot.
The intelligence officer immediately enlarged the forested area from multiple angles and camera positions. When the image appeared, everyone in the room was stunned.
“Hiss, aren’t those the fruit trees from the first Forbidden Zone?”
“Could this be the production base for Ability Users?”
“But Special Abilities are permanent for Ability Users. What’s going on?”
Everyone looked at the screen showing rows of neatly arranged trees laden with fruits of various colors and shapes, their faces filled with confusion.
“Without a doubt, these are Skill Fruit Trees, and what they bear are Skill Fruits,” Kamiyu frowned as she examined the trees on the screen. If the Fear Emperor could create dual-class or triple-class Ability Users, then everyone would be back on equal footing.
But something felt off to Kamiyu. The enemy didn’t have Life Bullets—how were they making the fruit trees grow so quickly? And since the fruits were already ripe, why were the Ability Users she had fought still so weak? Was the Fear Emperor unwilling to let its Ability Users use the Skill Fruits?
She couldn’t quite figure it out.
Just then, Mephisto’s voice echoed again: “Look at you all, still thinking you can defeat the Fear Emperor? The Fear Emperor has other Fruit Cores. Isn’t it perfectly normal for it to possess Skill Fruit Trees and Skill Fruits?”
“But according to our video replays, there were no dual-class Ability Users on the battlefield. How do you explain that?” Xiao Zhong asked.
“Players are players, Ability Users are Ability Users—they’re not the same. For Ability Users, Skill Fruits are merely pure energy fruits that boost their strength when consumed. But for players, eating them grants temporary access to that Talent,” Mephisto explained.
“So that’s how it is,” everyone nodded in understanding after hearing its explanation.
“What a waste, using Skill Fruits like energy bars,” Kamiyu remarked. “Watch me steal the Fruit Core and build a Skill Orchard of our own.”
With an additional Skill Orchard, the pie would grow larger, and everyone would get to enjoy Skill Fruits. Kamiyu was no heartless Boss—she had already distributed a hundred Skill Fruits in the early stages to the BUG Research Group, the artillery teams with the highest accuracy and firing counts in the Artillery Position, and other players who had made significant contributions.
As for worrying about information about the Skill Fruits leaking out—that was never a concern, because they were meant to be used as tools to exploit and lure other Power Factions into serving Kamiyu.
Upon hearing Kamiyu’s words, everyone was instantly energized, shouting in unison: “Long live Lady Kamiyu!”
“Let’s quickly formulate a plan and route.”
“How about a diversionary tactic, or a plan to lure the enemy away?”
“Who will create the diversion?” someone asked.
Everyone collectively turned their gaze toward Jack—for no other reason than because his Hellfire Fist was incredibly flashy, with dazzling skill effects that had already earned him a group of admirers in the Sanctuary. Many Mages even imitated him, shaping their Fireball Spells into wolf-head forms.
Kamiyu took out a Skill Fruit for the assassin class and said, “Alright, send the route to my phone. I’ll navigate and fly over, then approach with Stealth.”
Jack also pulled out the Endless Fury Gauntlets and began repeatedly striking the air, building up fire attribute Damage.
