Chapter 232: Qingfeng Overlord
Chapter 232: Qingfeng Overlord
Following the guidance of the seven, Jiang Changkong headed into the dense forest.
Within the forest, many Martial Artists were cautiously advancing, vigilantly watching their surroundings.
Among them, quite a few were leaping forward among the trees, while others used instruments to probe the forest.
“Look, what’s that in the sky?”
“Holy shit, there are actually eight people flying?”
“High-Rank Martial Artists? No, that’s Jiang Changkong. What is he planning?”
“It must be nice to fly. At least these people can’t set traps in the sky.”
“Jiang Changkong, he’s leading seven people. Where is he going? Could it be that he’s found the gathering place of the Sin Domain criminals?”
“Follow him.”
Some Martial Artists leaped onto the treetops, chasing after Jiang Changkong’s flight path.
Under the moonlight, Heng Xueyue’s expression turned serious. “Let’s take a different route.”
“Just because Jiang Changkong went that way? Are you really that wary of him?” a young man couldn’t help but ask.
“Wherever he appears, we won’t gain any benefits. There’s no need to go there,” Heng Xueyue said coldly. “If you don’t believe me, you can take your people and go.”
“Xueyue, I’ll listen to you. Yao Meng and Tian Wang have a good relationship with him; they’re not enemies,” a woman who bore a seventy to eighty percent resemblance to Heng Xueyue said.
This person was none other than Heng Xueyue’s elder sister, Heng Qingyue, a top-tier Star Spirit prodigy.
“Right, they’re not enemies. Let’s go,” a member of the Nan family, radiating Blazing Sun Star Power, spoke up.
The Nan family, the Heng family, and the Yaoguang Chamber of Commerce—these three major powers had long since formed an alliance.
Besides them, there were two other young men, also prodigies, who had brought many people with them.
Jiang Changkong’s movements drew the attention of many, but most chose not to compete with him.
Even knowing that the people he brought with him were likely from the Sin Domain and could guide the way, they still wouldn’t approach.
Jiang Changkong’s strength was too overwhelming; they weren’t prepared to confront him so soon after arriving.
As they flew, the seven also explained the situation in the Sin Domain.
Originally, there were eleven overlords, but one had fallen—Yun Bugui.
Now there were ten overlords left, each once worthy of being called a prodigy.
Among these overlords, some were from major factions and would hand over Star Stones to their respective powers, while others would not.
For example, Heng Moxuan of the Heng family, who harbored deep resentment toward the Heng family for failing to protect her back then.
Presumably, the Immortal Palace had already notified them of Heng Xuanqing’s death. Now, Heng Moxuan would surely have the resolve to kill the Heng family’s prodigies.
As they flew, Jiang Changkong arrived at the destination. The dense forest obscured the view below, making it difficult to see clearly.
“Are you sure this is the place?” Jiang Changkong asked.
“This is it. Don’t go down recklessly to avoid falling into traps. You can test it with your power,” Xu Hengzhi advised.
“What if the Star Stones get damaged?” Jiang Changkong asked.
Star Stones weren’t indestructible. With his strength, he could easily shatter Star Stones of the same rank.
“As for Star Stones, the overlords all have Spatial Equipment, provided by the Federation,” Xu Xingheng explained. “As for the Star Stones of the others, they’re mostly buried and stored in hidden locations. They definitely wouldn’t carry them around.”
“In that case, even if we kill them, we won’t get all the Star Stones?” Jiang Changkong frowned deeply.
“Not exactly,” Xu Hengzhi said with a bitter smile. “The Federation implanted devices inside our bodies that can record our lives through our physical forms. As long as we kill them and retrieve the devices, we can locate the Star Stones.”
“Are those devices very sturdy?” Jiang Changkong asked.
“Even a High-Rank Martial Artist would find it difficult to destroy without harming the life inside. Without specialized equipment, even Wang Ruiqing couldn’t do it.”
Xu Xingheng sighed. They were nothing but a herd of fattened pigs under surveillance.
“In that case, there’s no need for restraint.”
Jiang Changkong nodded slightly. If that was the situation, then he might as well act directly.
He raised his right palm, and the heavens and earth changed color. The evening glow spread across the sky, enveloping a radius of a thousand meters.
Like a curtain descending from the heavens, the evening glow unleashed countless blade radiances, pouring down like a torrent.
Boom!
The Sunset Blade fell, reducing trees to dust and splitting the earth into a deep abyss.
“Watch out… Argh!”
A frantic shout rose from below, followed by a scream.
The overwhelming evening glow and endless blade radiance illuminated the brilliant Star Power below, only for it to be extinguished in an instant.
The seven men stared at Jiang Changkong in horror, then glanced up at the evening glow overhead. This was far too ruthless.
An indiscriminate attack, akin to cleansing the land, swept through every corner without leaving a single trace.
Boom!
Vast Star Power surged, and a Starforce Beam shot into the sky, only to be swiftly severed by the blade radiance.
Crack!
Whoosh!
A deafening roar echoed as a fierce gale howled. A streak of Azure Light shot straight into the sky, and a cold, arrogant voice resounded through the heavens and earth: “What vile creature dares to cause trouble here?”
The Sunset Blade radiance submerged everything, its light blotting out the sky and sun.
The Azure Light surged upward, shattering blade radiances one after another. A figure clad in azure, wielding a three-foot azure blade, transformed Star Power into a massive whirlwind, forcefully ascending into the sky.
“Not bad. To be able to counterattack under my casual strike.”
Jiang Changkong praised, “He must be the Azure Wind Overlord, right?”
His youthful appearance was no surprise. Upon reaching Star Spirit Peak, aging would slow significantly without unforeseen circumstances.
Remaining unchanged in appearance for over a decade was perfectly normal. As for the seven men beside him, their advanced age and miserable lives, filled with suffering, had left them so haggard.
The seven men watched the figure riding the wind upward with fear, then glanced at Jiang Changkong, their hearts filled with doubt.
Was he telling the truth? Was that really just a casual strike from him?
“Who are you?”
The Azure Wind Overlord, clad in azure robes, stood atop the whirlwind. His icy gaze fell upon the seven men, and his expression darkened. “Was it you seven old fools who led him here?”
Behind him, a group of pursuing Martial Artists watched with gleaming eyes.
“The Azure Wind Overlord—Jiang Changkong actually found his way here.”
“The Azure Wind Overlord has been renowned for years, a prodigy of his generation. If he hadn’t entered the Sin Domain, he would have long become a High-Rank Martial Artist.”
“Though unable to advance to the high rank, the Azure Wind Overlord couldn’t have remained stagnant all these years. He must have strengthened his martial techniques.”
“I’ve heard these overlords collect martial arts of the same attribute to comprehend even stronger techniques.”
The Martial Artists whispered among themselves, their gazes burning as they watched the Azure Wind Overlord.
An overlord’s wealth was undoubtedly immense. Under normal circumstances, they wouldn’t dare to challenge him.
These overlords had survived at least one, if not several, harvests. Their strength and methods were terrifying.
Jiang Changkong was equally formidable, his power unfathomable.
When two tigers fight, one is bound to be injured.
Jiang Changkong stood with his hands behind his back, calmly stating, “Come, let me see what an overlord is capable of.”
“Seeking death! Azure Wind Without Shadow!”
The Azure Wind Overlord shouted softly. The whirlwind beneath his feet surged into his body, and his form transformed into a streak of Azure Light, vanishing instantly.
His body became one with the azure wind, moving so fast it was impossible to track, causing space itself to tremble.
Hum…
The Azure Light suddenly halted, the three-foot azure blade stopping three feet before Jiang Changkong, unable to advance another inch. The body of the Azure Wind Overlord also stiffened mid-air, restrained by Invisible Star Power.
“You have disappointed me, President.”
Jiang Changkong sighed softly, turning his hand to reveal a sixth-tier long blade, which he handed to Xu Hengzhi. “Deal with it yourself.”
“This…” Xu Hengzhi was momentarily stunned before hurriedly grasping the long blade. “Thank you, President Jiang.”
“Huff… huff…”
The Azure Wind Overlord opened his mouth but could not utter a word. Watching Xu Hengzhi approach, his face was instantly filled with terror.
Beads of sweat the size of beans rolled down, and his body trembled uncontrollably.
Xu Hengzhi clenched the long blade between his teeth, first removing a ring and tossing it to Jiang Changkong before raising the blade and striking down.
Thud
An arm fell, blood gushing like a fountain. Instead of ending Azure Wind’s life with a single strike, he chose to inflict torment.
Jiang Changkong turned around, his icy gaze falling upon the pursuing Martial Artists. “When the snipe and the clam grapple, the fisherman profits?”
The evening glow spread across the sky, endless blade radiance cascaded down, weaving together like a blood-soaked tapestry.
The severed arm of Azure Wind spilled blood, transforming into a crimson rain that mirrored the bloody dusk, adding yet another layer of scarlet.
