Chapter 108 – The Rogue Stone 4
Chapter 108 – The Rogue Stone 4
The delicate-looking woman paused, carefully recalling for a moment.
“I only glanced briefly—blue hair, short stature, seems… seems like a girl!”
“And her expression was very serious, not a trace of a smile.”
As she spoke, the delicate-looking woman spread her hands, speaking with a somewhat odd tone.
“Did they go this way?”
Qiu Bai looked at the delicate woman and slowly asked.
“Yes, they went straight ahead from here.”
The delicate woman nodded, speaking to Qiu Bai.
“Let’s go after them!”
Paimon said, and then the group ran forward.
After seeing them leave, the delicate woman patted her chest and let out a sigh of relief.
The striking appearances of Zhongli and Qiu Bai had nearly left her speechless.
The running group suddenly came to a halt.
“There are footprints on the ground… oh, there’s someone over there!”
Paimon widened her eyes, looking at the woman about to be attacked by a young Primo Geovishap up ahead.
“Help, please save me!”
A woman’s voice came from the distance.
Qiu Bai frowned and instantly vanished from where he stood.
Just as the young Primo Geovishap leaped up, about to crash down on the woman,
Qiu Bai suddenly appeared right in front of her.
Though called young Geovishaps, they were only small relative to the larger one—their size was still larger than a human.
Qiu Bai punched the Primo Geovishap in the stomach!
The powerful impact sent the young Geovishap flying backward!
Thud!
A dull thud echoed as the young Geovishap was slammed into the nearby cliff face by Qiu Bai’s punch, then fell to the ground.
The other young Geovishaps nearby, about to attack, took one look at the scene and fled.
“Thank you, sir.”
“My name is Wanyu, I truly appreciate your help!”
The delicate-looking woman, dressed in Liyue-style long skirt, black stockings, high heels, and wearing glasses, stood up and quickly thanked Qiu Bai.
“Hehe, no need for thanks, Miss Wanyu.”
“It was just a small effort, hardly worth mentioning.”
Qiu Bai turned to look at Wanyu, smiling as he spoke.
A gentle breeze brushed against Qiu Bai’s clothes, his hair lightly swaying. His handsome face momentarily left the woman dazed.
“Qiu Bai!”
Paimon’s voice rang out from behind as Kun Jun, Lumine, Zhongli, and the others ran over.
“These monsters are too aggressive—just passing by and they notice you.”
“Without a word, they pounce on people… Thanks to this gentleman for saving me, thank you.”
Wanyu patted her chest, relieved, then turned her gaze to Qiu Bai, her face slightly flushed as she spoke.
“My name is Wanyu, affiliated with Liyue’s Shenglu Hall.”
“I’m responsible for research on cultural relics and historical sites.”
Wanyu then looked at the group, one hand resting on her chest, and slowly introduced herself.
“Shenglu Hall?”
“That’s the place where Uncle Yu from the Demon God of Dreams incident was from, right? They’re all from a place called Shenglu Hall.”
Qiu Bai smiled upon hearing this. Last time, that archaeological expert named Uncle Yu had sent five million Mora to Wangsheng Funeral Parlor.
It seems those working in cultural relics and historical sites are quite wealthy.
“Oh? Not miners…”
Paimon waved her hand, speaking to Lumine with some disappointment.
“Miners?”
Wanyu asked, somewhat puzzled.
“Yes, we’re looking for miners—twelve in total!”
“All tall, burly men carrying mining tools.”
Paimon nodded, explaining to Wanyu.
“The person you mentioned, I think I’ve seen them.”
Wanyu recalled for a moment before speaking to Paimon.
“Really?”
Paimon widened her eyes, looking at Wanyu in surprise.
“Yes. I set out from Nantianmen the day before yesterday, heading toward Lingju Pass.”
“Along the way, I encountered a group of people—a child and over a dozen adults.”
Wanyu looked at the group and explained.
“Ms. Wanyu.”
“Could you provide more details?”
Lumine looked at Wanyu and asked politely.
“I was in a hurry and didn’t get a good look.”
“I can’t remember any specific facial features or details… I’m sorry.”
Wanyu thought carefully but couldn’t recall anything more, apologizing to the group.
“That’s enough, thank you, Ms. Wanyu.”
Zhongli looked at Wanyu and spoke slowly.
“I’m glad I could help!”
“Then I’ll take my leave now. I have an academic conference to attend. Thank you again, sir.”
Wanyu looked at Qiu Bai, thanked him, and then headed toward Liyue Harbor.
“Based on Ms. Wanyu’s description.”
“These people likely went in the direction of Nantianmen.”
Qiu Bai spoke slowly to the group.
“But can we be sure it’s the same group?”
Kun Jun looked at Qiu Bai, somewhat puzzled.
“Heh, a child and over a dozen adults.”
“Along with mining tools—it should be the same group.”
Qiu Bai turned around and smiled at Kun Jun.
“But a combination of a child and adults.”
“Isn’t that very common.”
Paimon waved her hand dismissively.
“It’s actually quite common.”
Lumine, Kun Jun, Qiu Bai, and Zhongli all turned their gazes toward Paimon.
“Uh… well, then…”
Paimon stumbled over her words, realizing that the current group consisted of four adults and one child—herself.
“Hey, look at that rock over there!”
Kun Jun seemed to notice something, pointing toward a piece of Cor Lapis.
“Oh, right! I almost forgot about this trick!”
Paimon clapped her hands, nearly forgetting about this ability.
“It should work. Let me try.”
Kun Jun waved his hand and slowly walked toward the Cor Lapis.
He then crouched down, placing his palm on the surface of the stone.
“Hmm…”
“Yes, it’s the same group. They went along this path.”
After a while, Kun Jun stood up, turned around, and spoke to the group.
“Brother Kun reading the memories of stones.”
“No matter how many times I see it, it never ceases to be fascinating.”
Zhongli looked at Kun Jun and smiled.
“This so-called ability isn’t usually of much use.”
“If it can entertain Mr. Zhongli, then it has some meaning.”
Kun Jun looked at Zhongli and smiled in response.
“Indeed, the ability to read the memories of stones.”
“I’ve never heard of such a power before.”
Qiu Bai looked at Kun Jun and asked slowly.
“Doesn’t Mr. Qiu Bai also possess the ability to teleport?”
“I had never heard of such an ability before either.”
Kun Jun looked at Qiu Bai and smiled.
“Heh, that’s true.”
Qiu Bai chuckled lightly, not denying it.
“Little Kun is practically our compass!”
“With you here, we can easily determine the direction.”
Paimon looked at Kun Jun and smiled.
“Hahaha, really? Then my trip here wasn’t in vain.”
Kun Jun placed a hand on his chest and laughed.
“Hmm, this feeling… it’s like working on a case, so interesting.”
Kun Jun stroked his chin, recalling the moment he arrived here, and chuckled softly.
