Chapter 211 – Using Humans as Gu, Great Ying Immortal Dynasty—You’re the Real Demons

Chapter 211 – Using Humans as Gu, Great Ying Immortal Dynasty—You're the Real Demons

Jade Bamboo Town, Luo Family

“Run! Senior Brother Sui, run now!!!”

Inside the Luo Family residence of Jade Bamboo Town, Dong Jieshou of East Sea Gate shouted desperately at Senior Brother Sui with despair written across his face.

At this moment, he was pinned beneath the foot of a robust elder, all four of his limbs severed.

Among the three, Huang Haiming had long been decapitated, now nothing more than a headless corpse within the Luo Family estate.

Sui Shaobao stared at the half-dead Dong Jieshou and the already headless Huang Haiming, his eyes bloodshot with rage.

He never expected that those they had considered harmless ‘mortals’

Would actually be a special kind of ‘Gu Cultivators’.

When not utilizing the ‘power of Gu insects’, these people appeared no different from ordinary humans.

But once they activated the power of Gu insects, they could unleash astonishing strength.

In a normal confrontation, even if Sui Shaobao and his companions were outmatched, they wouldn’t have ended up in such a dire situation.

The problem lay in their complete ignorance about the Luo Family, or rather, the Gu Cultivators of the Great Abundance Dynasty.

When they first arrived, they only noticed that the Luo Family members had notably stronger physical bodies than ordinary people.

Beyond that, they detected no other abnormalities.

Thus, they let their guard down.

Believing them to be merely slightly stronger mortals who posed no real threat,

They followed the Luo Family’s invitation into their clan territory for discussions without hesitation.

Moreover, they were beguiled by the Luo Family’s constant flattery, addressing them as ‘Immortal Lords’, and carelessly consumed the food offered to them.

That single meal became their death warrant.

Hidden within the food were numerous special Gu insects unknown in the Immortal Cultivation World.

These Gu insects remained lifeless objects without any vital signs until they absorbed sufficient spiritual power.

But once they absorbed enough spiritual power, they transformed into terrifying monsters.

The Gu insects they had ingested quickly demonstrated their formidable nature.

It was at that moment Sui Shaobao realized the three of them had been deceived.

By then, escaping was no longer an easy task.

Trapped between internal Gu insects and external Gu Cultivators,

Despite being a disciple of a major school with abilities far surpassing ordinary people,

They ultimately paid the price with one dead and one severely wounded.

Sui Shaobao looked at Dong Jieshou, controlled by the Luo Family Clan Chief. Though unwilling to abandon him, he had to admit that he currently lacked the ability to rescue him.

Filled with hatred, Sui Shaobao cast one last furious glance at the Luo Family members before flying decisively toward the Jade Bamboo Forest outside the Luo Family estate.

He swore that no matter the cost, he would reduce these Gu Cultivators who had toyed with them to dust.

Strangely, none of the Luo Family members pursued the fleeing Sui Shaobao. Instead, they wore mocking smiles.

After Sui Shaobao had completely disappeared, a Luo Family clansman stepped forward.

He first cast a greedy look at Dong Jieshou pinned under the Clan Chief’s foot, then bowed and asked Clan Chief Luo Heng: “Clan Chief, are you certain about letting that demonic heretic escape like this?”Hearing this, Luo Heng said calmly, “If we don’t let him go, how will he lead us to the den of the Demonic Heresy?”

“Enough, you need not concern yourselves with his affairs. I will handle it personally.”

“Send someone to the nearest Demon Suppression Division and report the situation regarding the Demonic Heresy to the Imperial Court.”

“Yes.”

After arranging these matters, Luo Heng lifted Dong Jieshou in his grasp.

He looked at Dong Jieshou, whose limbs had been severed and whose eyes were filled with despair, and said in a low tone, “You followers of the Demonic Heresy are truly audacious, daring to deliver yourselves to our doorstep.”

“Now that you’ve fallen into my hands, I will slowly extract every piece of information you possess.”

“Rest assured, I won’t let you die too easily before I obtain what I want.”

“After all, there’s no need to speak of righteousness when dealing with heretics like you.”

Upon hearing these words, Dong Jieshou’s mind went blank.

As a True Disciple of the East Sea Gate—an orthodox Immortal Sect of the Central Province—this was the first time he had ever heard someone refer to them as Demonic Heresy.

Before this, these four words had always been what they used to describe others.

Shortly after Luo Heng took Dong Jieshou to a certain location within the Luo residence, miserable screams suddenly erupted from deep inside the compound.

Meanwhile, several Luo Family disciples were galloping at full speed toward a specific destination.

In a mountain forest of the Great Abundance Dynasty.

“Amitabha, why have you esteemed benefactors poisoned our humble monastic party?”

Juechen of the Little Thunder Monastery looked at the subdued Gu Cultivators, his transcendentally handsome face showing a trace of confusion.

He and several other Fellow Daoists had just entered the city when, for unknown reasons, they were attacked by a large number of mysterious Cultivators.

These practitioners had initially appeared to be mere Mortals, but after performing some kind of ‘secret technique,’ they erupted with astonishing power.

Some resembled Body Cultivators—immensely strong and impervious to blades and spears.

Others resembled Dao Cultivators—able to spew blazing flames and control wind and thunder.

This undoubtedly caught Juechen and his companions off guard.

Fortunately, Juechen was no ordinary individual.

Blessed with a natural ‘Buddha Heart,’ he was not only well-versed in the various Buddhist teachings of the Little Thunderclap Temple,

But also carried a ‘Buddha Nature’ that allowed him to perceive the good and evil in people’s hearts.

Thus, when these individuals suddenly attacked, Juechen immediately counterattacked.

After a brief battle, Juechen effortlessly subdued them all.

Though monks embody compassion, even the Vajra Guardian has a wrathful gaze, and the Bodhisattva may lower her brows in stern mercy.

Faced with these mysterious Cultivators who had launched a sudden assault,

Juechen chose to ‘liberate’ them on the spot, sparing only a few to properly ‘enlighten’ them later.

From the original group of forty to fifty Gu Cultivators, only two remained after Juechen and his two companions had ‘liberated’ the rest.

One of the survivors stared at Juechen’s serene countenance, unable to reconcile it with the ‘demonic monk’ who had slaughtered mercilessly with a wave of his hand moments before.

When Juechen questioned them, the surviving Gu Cultivator, though filled with terror,

Clenched his teeth and said, “Kill me if you will, foreign demon monk! You’ll learn nothing from me!”

Hearing himself called a demon monk, the Buddha Child Juechen remained unperturbed.

He pressed his palms together, his gaze calm, and said, “Amitabha, it seems you esteemed benefactors harbor deep misunderstandings about this humble monk.”

“In that case, allow me to first chant scriptures for you both, to cleanse the Karma from your beings.”With that, Juechen gave the two no chance to refuse, suddenly producing a golden Buddhist scripture scroll in his hand.

Under the fearful gazes of the two Gu Cultivators, Juechen immediately began chanting the scripture.

In an instant, countless Sanskrit characters appeared around Juechen and slowly entered the bodies of the two Gu Cultivators.

At first, the two Gu Cultivators resisted fiercely, their bodies trembling violently as if putting up some kind of struggle.

Even their expressions became extremely distorted.

But gradually, as Juechen continued chanting for longer,

the expressions of the two Gu Cultivators gradually softened, until finally they became filled with ‘Buddha nature’.

Seeing this, Juechen put away the scripture and said with a smile, “Dear benefactors, do you still insist on persisting in your delusions?”

The two looked at Juechen, their eyes no longer filled with hatred but with an indescribable fervor.

One of them stood up and actually imitated Juechen’s earlier gesture, placing his palms together and saying, “Thank you for your guidance, Great Master. This humble one has now returned from going astray and gained complete enlightenment.”

Juechen smiled and nodded, saying, “Excellent, excellent. Then may I ask, benefactor, where is this place, and why did you harbor such great malice toward us?”

Hearing Juechen’s question, the Gu Cultivator immediately explained the whole story.

It turned out that the place where Juechen and the others currently were was an immortal dynasty called ‘Great Ying’,

taken from the ‘Ying’ in ‘the moon waxes full, then wanes’ – which coincidentally matched the ‘moon’ in Gu Yue Zhenren’s name.

The reason they harbored such great malice toward Juechen and the others was because they lacked ‘immortal seeds’ in their bodies.

It should be known that every person born in the Great Ying Dynasty would have immortal seeds in their bodies, which were what normal Cultivators called ‘Gu Insects’.

Once people without ‘immortal seeds’ appeared, the ‘immortal seeds’ within the Gu Cultivators would immediately alert them.

This was also why the Gu Cultivators could detect Juechen and the others immediately.

As for why the Gu Cultivators hated these outside Cultivators so much, this matter could be traced back ten thousand years.

According to the records of the Great Ying Dynasty, Sky Demons from beyond the realm would invade every five hundred years.

These Sky Demons from beyond the realm ‘neither good nor evil’, killing people without blinking.

Therefore, whenever ‘Sky Demons from beyond the realm’ appeared, the entire dynasty would fall into great turmoil.

Exactly fifteen hundred years ago, there had been a Sky Demon from beyond the realm named ‘Gu Liqing’.

Relying solely on his own power, he had nearly wiped out more than half of the Gu Cultivators in the Great Ying Dynasty.

His purpose was simply to avenge another Sky Demon from beyond the realm.

Any Gu Cultivator who had participated in surrounding and killing that Sky Demon from beyond the realm at the time, whether directly or indirectly, was slain by Gu Liqing.

And these Gu Cultivators naturally had their own friends and relatives.

As a result, many Gu Cultivators who hadn’t participated in surrounding and killing that Sky Demon from beyond the realm also joined the battle against Gu Liqing.

But Gu Liqing wasn’t alone at that time either.

He had many powerful Sky Demons from beyond the realm by his side.

The two sides engaged in a fierce battle in a valley of the Great Ying Dynasty.

It was in this battle that the Great Ying Dynasty suffered heavy losses, taking a long time to barely recover.

After this battle, the Great Ying Dynasty established the Demon Suppression Division specifically targeting Sky Demons from beyond the realm.

Its purpose was to monitor the entire Great Ying Dynasty, and once Sky Demons from beyond the realm were discovered, they were to be killed without exception.Juechen and his companions were being besieged by these Gu Cultivators for precisely this reason.

Understanding this, Juechen seemed to recall something and inquired, “Benefactor, if I wish to shield myself from the immortal bell’s detection, should this immortal seed be implanted within my body or simply carried on my person?”

The Gu Cultivator who had already taken refuge in the Buddha answered earnestly, “If nourished with spiritual power, carrying it on your person would be perfectly acceptable.”

“Understood.”

Buddha Child Juechen nodded, then pressed his palms together and addressed the two: “Two benefactors, it appears the Great Ying Dynasty holds many misconceptions about us. Yet, three feet of ice forms not in a single day—this matter cannot be resolved quickly.”

“Therefore, might you two benefactors grant us some immortal seeds to avoid unnecessary bloodshed?”

“The Buddha is merciful. Unless absolutely necessary, we humble monks prefer not to create killing karma.”

Upon hearing this, one Gu Cultivator abruptly thrust his hand into his own dantian and extracted a bloody Gu insect.

Witnessing this, Juechen appeared greatly surprised.

As if feeling no pain, the cultivator devoutly offered it to Juechen.

“Benefactor, why go to such extremes?”

Observing the cultivator’s rapidly fading vitality, Juechen’s eyes immediately revealed sorrow.

To this, the Gu Cultivator responded with devotion: “In ancient times, the Buddha cut his own flesh to feed an eagle. Today, I offer my immortal seed hoping to reduce the world’s killing karma.”

“To sacrifice one and save hundreds—this is great karma.”

Hearing these words, Juechen and the two Little Thunderclap Temple monks beside him all showed expressions of deep respect, pressing their palms together in a Buddhist salute to the Gu Cultivator.

Following this example, the other Gu Cultivator likewise offered his own immortal seed.

Though it cost him his life, he displayed no hesitation, as if having already transcended concerns of life and death.

After receiving the immortal seeds from these two “converts,” both quickly lost their vitality, becoming two cross-legged corpses on the ground.

Unlike the others around them, their faces revealed serene peace, as if they had died without regrets.

Gazing at the two, Juechen bowed again and said, “Senior Brothers, though they were our enemies, the Buddha’s compassion compels us to properly bury their remains and liberate their souls before we depart, does it not?”

In response to Juechen’s words, the two Little Thunderclap Temple monks nodded.

They proceeded to bury the surrounding Gu Cultivator corpses.

Using the life tablets carried on each body, they erected proper tombstones.

After completing these tasks, the three chanted scriptures before the field of graves for some time before finally leaving.

However, before departing, they obtained additional immortal seeds from the “Gu Bells” carried by these individuals.

It appeared there were methods to acquire immortal seeds beyond extracting them from Gu Cultivators’ bodies.

The two earlier cultivators had chosen the extreme path of “atonement through death” because they felt burdened by heavy sins.

With these immortal seeds now in their possession, Juechen’s group no longer needed to worry about immediate detection by Gu Cultivators.

Provided they remained cautious, the Gu Cultivators within the Great Ying Dynasty shouldn’t discover them for some time.

As they journeyed onward, one Little Thunderclap Temple monk asked, “Buddha Child, why didn’t you stop those two earlier? With them as guides, our subsequent endeavors would likely have proceeded much more smoothly.”To this, Juechen calmly said, “Amitabha, this is the decision of the two benefactors. This humble monk has no right to interfere. Moreover, they have no affinity with the Buddha.”

“If it were Benefactor Lu, however, this humble monk would spare no effort to guide him back from his misguided path.”

“With Benefactor Lu’s level of Comprehension Ability, it is truly a pity for him to pursue immortal cultivation.”

“Even if I cannot obtain the Ancient Moon Immortal’s Legacy, guiding Benefactor Lu to embrace Buddhism would make this journey absolutely worthwhile.”

After speaking, Juechen disappeared into the mountain forest with the two individuals.
