Chapter 159 – No Rest Even Before Winter Break

Chapter 159 – No Rest Even Before Winter Break

Half a month had passed unnoticed since the Empty Hand Association incident.

Ye Kuang’s first university winter break was drawing closer.

For a while, he continued his studies as usual.

Surprisingly, during this period, Southern Yuan and Northern Ma seemed to have vanished without a trace, sending no one to cause trouble.

Ye Kuang enjoyed the peace, spending his days either sparring with Wuxin or immersing himself in the sea of knowledge.

Today, the school board suddenly issued a notice: all classes were suspended to prepare for welcoming an unknown overseas professor tomorrow.

Under the cover of night, Sophia moved like lightning, quietly evaded the dorm auntie, and entered the Four Heavenly Kings’ dorm room 405.

Her appearance delighted Pang Hu and the other two.

As the saying goes: He who doesn’t look at a beauty is a turtle’s egg.

The three gathered around Sophia, some serving tea and water, others wearing foolish, lovestruck expressions.

Ye Kuang couldn’t stand it any longer and scolded angrily, “Don’t you have any dignity? Don’t tarnish the reputation we’ve built.”

As he spoke, he glanced up and saw a pair of stocking-clad legs gracefully resting on a desk.

Sophia had struck a lazy pose that would stir wicked thoughts in any man.

“Little Ye, it hasn’t been that long since we last met. Why so distant? Are you upset that I haven’t visited you lately…”

“Stop… stop! Don’t call me ‘Little Ye.’ We have no relationship. Besides, because of you all, I haven’t had an easy time recently.”

As soon as Ye Kuang finished speaking, he attracted three pairs of puzzled and surprised gazes.

They were, of course, from Gao Qing, Fat Tiger, and Zheng Xiucai—the three old sixth.

“Wait, Ye, what did you just say? You have no relationship? That can’t be right. I heard you two were…” Pang Hu suddenly exclaimed.

Hearing this, Ye Kuang couldn’t help but smile wryly. “Were what? It’s just online rumors. How can you believe that?”

Sophia, unable to sit still any longer, retracted her legs, stood up, and walked gracefully to Ye Kuang. Staring at him with her phoenix eyes, she said, “Little Ye, your words hurt. My reputation is ruined because of you. How dare you not take responsibility?”

Gao Qing: “Scum, utter trash.”

But then he changed his tone and continued, “Senior Sophia, since Little Ye doesn’t know how to appreciate you, why not consider me?”

Zheng Xiucai, hearing this, immediately protested, “Gao Qing, you’re inhuman! Little Ye just broke up with Senior Sophia, and you’re already trying to steal her? What are your intentions?”

Pang Hu: “Exactly, exactly!”

But then Zheng Xiucai’s next words struck Ye Kuang and the other three like a thunderbolt.

“Senior Sophia, if you’re considering someone, it should naturally be me first. I’m still single. How could it be Gao Qing’s turn?”

Pang Hu: “When it comes to trash, with you around, Scholar, who could possibly compare?”

Gao Qing: “I never would have guessed, Scholar, oh Scholar. You’re truly called ‘Scholar,’ but I feel like you’re more of a bandit. Absolutely the cream of the scum crop. Compared to you, I’m nothing.”As the three were about to come to blows over this, Ye Kuang couldn’t help but roar: “Enough! Are you done yet? Should I call Monk over and let you settle this one-on-one?”

But when he looked up again, he completely ignored the delicate face before him, instead locking eyes directly with her as he asked: “Senior Sophia, you never visit without a reason. Speak—what brings you here tonight?”

“What? Can’t I come see Little Ye without a reason…” Sophia responded in a coquettish tone.

This scene made Pang Hu and the other two scoundrels green with envy, their thieving eyes glued to her striking S-curve figure, nearly drooling.

Instead of being moved by her words, Ye Kuang replied with slight impatience: “It’s late, Senior Sophia. If there’s nothing else, I’ll be going to sleep now.”

His tone wasn’t without reason.

Sophia’s human appearance was merely a facade—she wasn’t human at all.

The mere thought of the vampire heart concealed beneath that beautiful exterior made his hair stand on end.

Seeing this, Sophia naturally understood why Ye Kuang was being so cold. She sighed before speaking seriously: “Little Ye, I came today to warn you—please don’t attend tomorrow night’s welcome ceremony.”

“Huh?” Ye Kuang was taken aback and immediately wanted to ask for details.

But to his surprise, Sophia simply opened the door and left—as quietly and decisively as she had arrived.

Witnessing this, Fat Tiger and the other two couldn’t help but feel puzzled and began criticizing him.

“Little Ye, that wasn’t right of you. Regardless of why Senior Sophia warned you against attending tomorrow’s welcome party, the mere fact that she went through the trouble to come remind you deserves better treatment than what you gave her.”

“My guess is Little Ye has probably found a new flame and forgotten the old one.”

“Enough, you two. Little Ye must have his reasons… though his tone earlier was indeed somewhat inappropriate.”

Ye Kuang offered no explanation.

If he told them Sophia was actually a vampire, the three of them wouldn’t sleep peacefully tonight.

Pang Hu interjected: “Alright, let’s sleep. We have a busy day tomorrow.”

With that, the three immediately collapsed into their beds.

Soon, thunderous snores filled the dorm room.

Yet Ye Kuang tossed and turned, unable to sleep—an unprecedented occurrence for him.

Though Sophia was indeed a vampire, she had never harmed him. Thinking this, he began to question his earlier attitude.

Regardless of why Sophia warned him against tomorrow’s banquet, the shift in her tone clearly suggested something major was about to happen. Perhaps her warning was for his own good.

But what could it be?

Truthfully, Ye Kuang was deeply perplexed.

If even a vampire felt profound concern, the matter likely couldn’t be easily explained.

Or was Sophia worried about his safety and came to hint at it in advance?

These doubts swarmed his mind. He scratched his head, the splitting headache instantly banishing all drowsiness.

Ye Kuang thought to himself: Even handsome people have their troubles.

Truly, there’s no peace even before winter break!
