Chapter 221 – Three Months Later, Transformed Sinews and Bones (Two)
If one were to ask what chasm truly exists between Dao Inquiry and the Peak?
It transcends mere mastery of techniques, manifesting most intuitively in power and speed. Fists and palms become extensions of will, yet the energy they unleash differs as vastly as clouds from mud—every movement erupts with explosive force.
In the blink of an eye, Sage Yisu and the other two elders showed signs of defeat, their chests struck squarely by the three iron-men’s fists.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Three thunderous impacts echoed, deafening the ears.
Sage Yisu tumbled aside with Ye Kuang, blood gushing from his mouth. His face turned as pale as wax, utterly drained of color.
As for Sage Yixiao and Sage Yichen, their robes were soaked crimson with blood, their breathing faint as thread.
“Cease!” Seeing this, Sage Yiming could hardly contain his joy, though not a trace showed on his face.
No sooner had he spoken than the three iron-men lined up in a row, their imposing stances like soldiers awaiting inspection by a general.
Sage Yichen, witnessing his old rival’s victorious posture, cursed in fury: “Yiming, you shameless cur! How dare you abuse your authority as an enforcer to settle personal scores? May you die a wretched death!!”
Overwhelmed by rage, he spat another mouthful of blood.
Sage Yiming, far from being deterred, crouched before Sage Yisu and the others, his demeanor smug and triumphant. “Yichen, Yichen,” he sneered, “you dare collude with outsiders to plot against the sacred mountain? I am upholding the sanctity of our holy land, apprehending traitors. How is this personal vengeance? You slander me first and show no remorse—you deserve death!”
Lowering his voice, his face etched with murderous intent, he added, “You three old fools, did you ever imagine this day would come after stealing what was mine back then? Heh…”
A chill ran down Ye Kuang’s spine.
Only now did he realize the murky depths within the holy land ran deeper and filthier than the outside world.
The four of them clearly had unresolved grievances—no wonder Sage Yiming disregarded the decree’s intent, using it merely as a pretext to brutalize Sage Yichen and the others.
The thought filled Ye Kuang with righteous indignation.
Sage Yiming: “Sage Yisu, do you confess?”
Rising abruptly, he struck a pose of unwavering righteousness, as if embodying justice itself.
“Cough…” Sage Yixiao’s eyes nearly burst with fury, stunned by Sage Yiming’s audacity and seething with anger.
Sage Yisu: “Heh… cough… ha…”
Slap!
A sharp crack rang out—Sage Yisu had been publicly slapped across the face, shattering the dignity of a Dao Inquiry master into pieces.
“Yiming!!!” Sage Yisu roared, consumed by helpless rage.
But to Sage Yiming, the outburst was music to his ears. Instead of relenting, he mocked, “Yisu, I’m listening. Speak your defense while you still can—explain why you conspired…”
His words were cut short by three bursts of wild laughter.
“Hahaha…”Sages Yisu, Yixiao, and Yichen couldn’t help but exchange glances. Though completely drained of strength, they could only respond with helpless, bitter laughter that left listeners utterly powerless.
Yet in the eyes of the crowd, they appeared as despised traitors, every gaze fixed upon the three elders with venomous intensity.
The mere accusation of colluding with external forces would have been sufficient to execute them without trial.
Witnessing this, Ye Kuang’s heart filled with terror as he roared like a dragon: “Move! Move!!”
For if these three elders perished here, his own fate would be easily foreseeable.
Sage Yiming, however, was greatly disappointed to see the three elders only laughing maniacally instead of begging for mercy on their knees.
“Since you refuse to explain yourselves,” Yiming declared, “I shall exercise my authority as a sacred land enforcer to deliver judgment upon you three! Let this serve as a warning to all!!”
“Kill them!”
“KILL THEM!!”
Instantly, Yiming bathed in the thunderous cries for blood.
Professionally, his longtime rivals would finally fall to his hand; personally, he could finally settle years of unresolved grudges.
One could imagine how exhilarated Yiming felt at this moment!
Sage Yichen: “Hahaha…”
Sage Yixiao: “Hahaha…”
Sage Yisu: “Hahaha…”
Facing their old rival’s fabrications, the three elders found themselves unable to defend against the false accusations. Yet the more they laughed, the deeper their concealed fury grew.
All three elders stared fixedly at their longtime opponent with profound hatred burning in their eyes.
Not wanting to risk unexpected complications, Yiming suddenly clenched his fists and launched Cannon Blasts directly at the chests of Yixiao and Yichen.
He had clearly waited too long for this moment, holding nothing back in his attack!
But at this critical juncture, a leg swept out with lightning speed.
Faster than words could describe!
By the time Yiming noticed, it was already too late.
BOOM!
A tremendous impact sent Yiming stumbling uncontrollably into the crowd.
Instantly, angry shouts and curses erupted into chaos.
To everyone’s astonishment, the one who had struck was none other than Ye Kuang, who should have remained unconscious!
Yiming spat blood, attempting to rise, only to discover his True Qi draining away at an alarming rate.
Even Yisu couldn’t help but show drastic change in expression at this sight.
None had anticipated that Ye Kuang, after consuming the Udumbara Flower, would manifest demonic traits so rapidly.
His eyes now vacant, completely devoid of consciousness.
Yet his bloodthirsty gaze flickered with savage light as he scanned the surrounding crowd, suddenly unleashing a terrifying roar.
“Kekekeke…”
With each eerie laugh, Ye Kuang resembled a true demon, radiating overwhelming aura from head to toe.
Yiming, intimidated by that gaze, cursed continuously: “Damn you, Yisu! You actually dared to collude with the Demon Realm! You deserve death, annihilation!!”
Suddenly, without warning, Ye Kuang charged headlong into the crowd.
But then, three figures emerged from behind him.
ROAR! ROAR! ROAR!
In that instant, violent collisions triggered sky-shattering thunderclaps, filling everyone’s ears with deafening roars.
Ye Kuang took three powerful punches to his back, propelling him forward into the crowd.
With each swing of his arms and kick of his legs, several figures went flying.
Their eyes wide with terror and disbelief, they clearly died with grievances unappeased.Ye Kuang gripped both men’s necks with his hands, then suddenly exerted force.
Crack crack…
Seeing this, Sage Yiming still seemed somewhat incredulous, immediately wanting to flee this dangerous situation, but was abruptly anchored firmly in place by a powerful suction force.
