Chapter 236 – The Three Venerables Appear Together in Confrontation
The moment Ye Kuang seized control of the body’s vortex of dominance, the struggle intensified dramatically.
It could be said that as the Jade Void Creation Art circulated, he finally realized a horrifying truth.
He had completely underestimated the power of his inner demonic nature!
Not only could his true self execute the Jade Void Creation Art, but the demonic nature could as well.
With the two canceling each other out, the Creation Art had essentially become useless.
Ye Kuang: “Damn it, what’s going on here?”
At this point, he finally grasped the severity of the situation. If he couldn’t completely eradicate the demonic nature, the consequences would be endless.
“Stop struggling. You are me, and I am you. We have always been inseparable—how could you possibly destroy me?”
In an instant, cyan and rainbow lights alternated across Ye Kuang’s body, while black energy spread rapidly, transforming his face into a boundary between yin and yang in the blink of an eye.
This scene, naturally, was witnessed by the Three Venerables.
Old Taoist: “Brother Alchemist, what are your thoughts?”
Old Alchemist: “Don’t ask me. This lad’s condition is truly dire. If you want me to save him, you’ll need to give me a convincing reason!”
Old Artificer: “Enough arguing. I agree with Old Taoist. Think about it—if an ordinary person were to succumb to demonic influence, it would be a foregone conclusion. But this young man seems to have his own methods; he hasn’t fully fallen even now. His mental fortitude is evident. If we can make use of him, he would undoubtedly become a sharp sword.”
Upon hearing this, Old Alchemist couldn’t help but fall silent.
If Ye Kuang could suppress his inner demonic nature, with his nearly four centuries of cultivation, becoming Kunlun’s Fifth Venerable would be within reach. But if he failed to control it, the consequences would be unimaginable for everyone.
This was precisely what worried Old Alchemist. Although Old Taoist’s proposal was tempting, Old Alchemist didn’t immediately agree.
Old Taoist, of course, understood this. He glanced at the struggling Ye Kuang, then turned to look at the disciples behind him, and couldn’t help but smile wryly. “What if I insist on saving him? Will you stop me, Brother Alchemist?”
At these words, everyone, including Old Alchemist, tensed up. None had expected the Dao Venerable to speak so sternly over an outsider.
“Old Taoist, don’t act recklessly!” Old Alchemist blurted out in frustration.
“I know you mean well, but you all know what I cultivate. Now that I’ve finally encountered someone like him, I don’t want to miss this rare opportunity. Besides, I have a way to suppress his demonic nature.”
Hearing this, Old Alchemist fell silent once more.
For a moment, the entire forest was so quiet you could hear a pin drop.
After a long while, Old Alchemist finally asked, “Are you sure you want to do this?”
Old Taoist nodded inexplicably in response.
Old Alchemist, seeing this, was instantly furious and shouted, “Have you considered the consequences…?”
Old Taoist: “I know.”
“If you know the consequences, why are you still being so stubborn!” Old Alchemist roared.
As soon as he finished speaking, only Old Alchemist was left fuming, while the others silently turned their gazes to Old Taoist.
They were clearly waiting for an explanation.
“There’s no more time for us to waste. I have no other choice.”
“But you can’t gamble your fate on an outsider…””If there were any other choice, then go find it now!”
“You…”
Seeing the two at an impasse, even Old Artificer couldn’t stand it anymore and had to play the peacemaker: “You two have been arguing for most of your lives, can’t you just take a break for once…”
At this point, Old Artificer let out another bitter laugh: “Old rules—you two play rock-paper-scissors. One round decides the winner. Whether this kid lives or dies is up to fate!”
Old Alchemist: “Fine!”
Old Taoist: “Why bother with this?”
Old Alchemist: “Save your breath. I want to see how you can possibly beat me.”
Old Artificer: “…”
Everyone: “…”
Scissors!
Rock!
Paper!
Old Alchemist: “How could this happen?”
As he spoke, Old Alchemist couldn’t help but angrily question Old Artificer: “How could he possibly beat me!”
Old Taoist: “…”
Everyone: “…”
Seeing this, Old Artificer suddenly said: “Haven’t you noticed? Old Taoist has always been letting you win…”
“What nonsense are you spouting! He…” Old Alchemist clearly still couldn’t believe what he was hearing, then stared directly at Old Artificer and pressed: “You knew all along, didn’t you? Why didn’t you tell me!”
At that moment, Old Taoist turned and disappeared into the woods.
Old Alchemist: “I don’t believe it. I need to ask that damned old Taoist…”
Before he finished speaking, Old Alchemist’s figure vanished in the blink of an eye.
Witnessing this scene, Old Artificer felt utterly helpless and couldn’t help muttering to himself: “Will this ever end?”
Meanwhile.
Reverend Kaitai suddenly woke up. After surveying the situation before him, he shouted to the figure in front: “Ling Wei, kill him quickly! That boy has fallen to demonic influence. If we don’t eliminate him now, there will be endless consequences.”
Hearing this, Ling Wei shuddered violently. When she turned around, her face was streaked with tears: “Honored Master, you’re awake? He hasn’t completely fallen yet. Please, Honored Master, save him.”
Upon hearing this, Reverend Kaitai was clearly enraged, then sternly rebuked: “You… you foolish disciple! What kind of bewitching potion has this boy given you? He has already fallen to demonic influence—can’t you tell? These are just appearances. If we don’t kill him now, more people will die later.”
Ling Wei trembled from head to toe upon hearing these words, already sobbing uncontrollably.
Ye Kuang: “Kill… me…”
What?
Ling Wei felt as if struck by lightning upon hearing this, her phoenix eyes widening as she stared at the distorted face before her.
“How are you feeling, little brother?”
“While… I still have a shred of reason left, kill me quickly…”
Reverend Kaitai grew even more furious upon hearing this and roared: “Ling Wei, what are you waiting for! Kill him for your master! This is also saving him!!”
“Why? Why!”
“Kill me…”
“Kill him!”
For a moment, Ling Wei was completely distraught. Her mind flooded with memories of her time with Ye Kuang. Though brief, she couldn’t deny that these past few days had brought her more happiness than all her previous years combined.
As this inexplicable feeling washed over her, she first smiled… then wept…
She didn’t understand what love was, or what hatred was. She only knew what profound kindness meant, and what happy moments felt like. But now, with these two conflicting emotions clashing, Xiao Lingwei was clearly still somewhat at a loss.
“Sigh…”
Just then, a figure quietly arrived, followed by two more.
It was none other than the Three Venerables!
Old Alchemist: “Old Taoist, you stop right there! Have you been going easy on me all along, huh?”
Old Taoist, however, offered no explanation upon hearing this. Instead, he placed a hand on Ye Kuang’s head and commanded, “Calm your mind and steady your breath!”
Meanwhile, Old Artificer glanced at Reverend Kaitai and said calmly, “Kaitai, you have greatly disappointed us.”
No one could have expected the Three Venerables to appear together!
