Chapter 9 – Transforming into a Loli to Fight

Chapter 9 – Transforming into a Loli to Fight

Su Ming saw Du Liang stop running halfway and guessed that he was likely terrified of the ghost swarm.

Su Ming shouted, “Fatty, we’re all on the same side! Hurry over here!”

Du Liang thought for a moment but still felt something was off. Who the hell considers a ghost swarm to be “on their side”?

Helpless, Su Ming summoned the Ice Crystal Turtle and lifted him up for Du Liang to see. “Fatty, come on! Even Old Turtle didn’t run away, what are you afraid of?”

Looking at the still-sleeping Ice Crystal Turtle, Du Liang figured Su Ming was likely alive, but what was the deal with that swarm of ghosts?

Seeing the battle between the Blood Soul Ghost and the snake slowly closing in on Du Liang’s position, Su Ming had no choice. She summoned the Sword Ghost to one-shot the snake and then hauled Du Liang back.

Meanwhile, alarms were blaring continuously in the monitoring room. Because Su Ming’s Eighth Realm Sword Ghost had appeared, no one currently in a one-on-one fight on the field could match him; the gap in power was absolute.

The company commander couldn’t help but curse, “Holy crap! Where did an Eighth Realm Sword Ghost come from? Was there any record of this before?”

The principal replied, “Based on the direction, it should be Su Ming and Du Liang’s area. It’s not yet certain whose ghost it is.”

“Find out quickly!” the company commander ordered. “How could a new student possibly have an Eighth Realm ghost? Unless his consciousness has been reverse-controlled by the ghost.”

One risk for ghost tamers was the possibility of their consciousness being reverse-controlled by their ghosts, a situation that generally didn’t happen to beast tamers.

The rear area was now in an uproar. Who could have imagined that an Eighth Realm ghost creature would appear during a new student trial? How were the others supposed to compete…

Du Liang was nearly fainting as he looked at the benevolent-looking Sword Ghost. Damn it, Brother Su, is it really okay to prank your brother this hard?

The Blood Soul Ghost only possessed fifty percent of her original strength. If the Sword Ghost hadn’t one-shot the opponent, her strength likely would have dropped even further.

Su Ming recalled the Blood Soul Ghost into her body. “Good work. However, I might need you to work hard again in a bit.”

The Blood Soul Ghost remained loyal. “I am willing to go through fire and water for my master.”

Su Ming still felt bad for her. “That’s not necessary, not that far.”

The group of chef ghosts were also stunned silly looking at the Sword Ghost. No wonder the leader wanted to challenge the Flood Dragon earlier; it turned out they had such a powerful Sword Ghost.

The leader looked at the Sword Ghost tremulously. “Eighth… Eighth Realm…?”

Su Ming placed the dropped beast cores and corpses into her system space. In this world, ghosts left behind ghost beads when they died, while beasts left corpses and beast cores.

Su Ming checked her score; she had already reached fifty points. If she hadn’t split twenty points with Fatty, she probably would have passed already.

Du Liang looked at the twenty points that had mysteriously appeared in his account. The backend system was basically a bot; if it didn’t know who deserved the credit, it just split the points.

Du Liang was still nervous looking at the Sword Ghost. “Th… thank you, Brother Su… but Brother Su… where did you get this Sword Ghost? And those ghosts are…”

Su Ming replied, “Actually, I picked up the Sword Ghost on the side of the road before school started, and the ghost swarm pledged their loyalty to me after I entered. Do you believe me?”

Du Liang looked at Su Ming with wide, doubting eyes. It seemed like no one would believe that…

Su Ming continued, “Let’s not talk about that. Why are you here?”

Du Liang said, “Ah, it’s actually kind of funny. About two hours ago, I saw a man and a woman enter the Forbidden Zone. The woman was pretty cute, and they were mentioning something about the Azure Dragon and Black Tortoise. I was curious and followed them in to see, but I unexpectedly lost track of them.”

Su Ming thought about it. If that were the case, the people the system mentioned coming for the Vermilion Bird should have just entered recently; it wasn’t a big problem.

“Do you know their strength?”

“I don’t, but I guess they’re from the Heavenly Saint Sect. Since they dared to enter the Forbidden Zone directly, their strength should be quite good.”

“Heavenly Saint Sect?”

“Yeah, the Heavenly Saint Sect has always had ties with our Four Great Academies; my dad donates money to them all the time. I heard there’s a rumor that a certain saint and saintess are very close and are collecting the four sacred beasts together.”

Su Ming thought carefully. It seemed the people Du Liang encountered were the ones coming to steal the Vermilion Bird. This made things a bit troublesome…

Su Ming asked one more thing, “Didn’t you have any way to fight back when that snake was chasing you?”

Du Liang took out a crystal. “My dad said that in case of absolute danger, I can use this to perform a one-time spatial transfer. I was just about to use it when Brother Su came to save me.”

Su Ming thought for a moment and then said to Du Liang, “Fatty, do you want to make a deal with me? If it succeeds, I’ll guarantee you a spot in the top ten.”

Du Liang was tempted. After all, no matter how hard he worked with his ice wolves, the top ten was impossible. But with a Sword Ghost, it might be different…

The two reached an agreement. Su Ming took the Blood Soul Ghost and secretly entered the Forbidden Zone, while Du Liang took Su Ming’s Ice Crystal Turtle and the teleportation talisman to pretend he was still with the team. The Sword Ghost and the chef ghost swarm followed Du Liang.

Du Liang was still trying to persuade her, “Brother Su, isn’t this too risky? You’re only taking a wounded Blood Soul Ghost…”

The Chef Ghost Leader also wanted to stop Su Ming. “Right, Boss, it’s too dangerous!”

Su Ming held Du Liang’s crystal. “Don’t be afraid. If all else fails, I’ll just use him to escape.”

The Ice Crystal Turtle forced his eyes open. He, of course, knew that Su Ming’s loli form was of the Grandmaster Realm; he hadn’t expected to be called out to work…

The Ice Crystal Turtle didn’t forget his original intention. “Big Boss, don’t forget my high-grade feed when we get back.”

Du Liang replied, “Fine, fine. If Brother Su comes back alive this time, I’ll treat you to a meal, okay?”

Knowing Du Liang’s family background, the Ice Crystal Turtle immediately began to enlarge. “Don’t worry, don’t worry. With me protecting you, nothing will happen.”

Then Su Ming and Du Liang parted ways. With the Sword Ghost’s protection, Du Liang should be safe.

Du Liang was still worried since Su Ming only had one Fourth Realm ghost, but he figured as long as Su Ming didn’t cause trouble, everything would be fine…

Of course, Du Liang’s best quality was that he didn’t ask Su Ming what she was doing. Given their three-year friendship, he knew Su Ming had things she wanted to do. As long as he wasn’t curious and didn’t pry, it was best for both of them.

At this moment, no one else knew that Su Ming had left the team and quietly slipped into the Forbidden Zone.

Reaching a place shrouded in thick fog, Su Ming said, “Check if there’s anyone nearby. If not, I’m going to use my combat form.”

The Blood Soul Ghost looked around with her Blood Pupil. “Confirmed. There is no one within a five-hundred-meter radius, only some drifting ghosts.”

With a thought, Su Ming transformed into that cute, 1.4-meter-tall little loli.

Su Ming looked at herself. Indeed, she was so small… and why was she still wearing that pink outfit…

The Blood Soul Ghost couldn’t help but laugh out loud. Mainly, who could accept the cool master from a moment ago suddenly turning into such a cute little loli…

Su Ming clenched her fists. If her original body couldn’t cultivate, would she still need to use this loli body? (angry face)

Realizing she had laughed a bit too loudly, the Blood Soul Ghost said, “Let’s set off, Master. Ignore me.”

Su Ming’s voice sounded “milk-fierce.” “Laugh again and I’ll have the Sword Ghost poke you to death!”

Hearing Su Ming’s voice, the Blood Soul Ghost struggled to stifle her laughter. It was too hard; her master was simply too cute (σ≧︎▽︎≦︎)σ.

Seeing several Fifth Realm ghosts nearby, Su Ming used her skill to condense a large amount of ghostly qi from the surroundings, forming arrows. After aiming, she fired them, and over ten Fifth Realm ghosts were all killed.

Su Ming sighed, “What a pity my teleportation talisman is with Fatty, otherwise I could easily get four or five hundred points.”

The Blood Soul Ghost gasped in shock. She hadn’t expected that while the master’s loli form was so cute, her strikes would be so swift.

Su Ming used ghostly qi to collect all the ghost beads. The nearby ghosts fled in panic after sensing Su Ming’s terrifying strength.

However, what puzzled Su Ming was why the ghostly qi in the Vermilion Bird Ruins was so heavy—so heavy that not even a spirit beast could survive here…
