Chapter 101: King Tree Domain
Chapter 101: King Tree Domain
After reaching Level 60, although Zhai Guangyi’s True Body did not evolve, his overall attributes had greatly improved, and he successfully obtained his first Special Skill.
The King Tree Domain seemed to be a race-exclusive Skill, which his Elven Body could not use. Any creature within this Domain would receive protection, and he could channel his power into the protected beings. Moreover, it was a full 100% attribute transfer. His True Body’s attributes were extremely terrifying—strength alone reached ten thousand points, along with formidable defense and Magic Power.
Although his Elven Body could not use it, this Domain could cover the entire range of Zhai Guangyi’s soul perception. Thus, he could rely on this Skill to channel power into his Elven Body, providing remote buffs. Of course, this Skill differed significantly from Xiong Batian’s Berserk Domain. Xiong Batian’s Domain had no limit on the number of targets, while his Special Skill had a strict limit on the number of people. At Level 1, he could only channel power into three individuals.
However, as his Level increased, this number would also grow significantly. In addition to power transfer, another effect was the ability to continuously provide purification effects to the protected beings within the Domain.
It was precisely because of this effect that the Spirit King Tree could alleviate the madness of the Forest Elves. Fortunately, when the Forest Elves arrived, he had already elevated his True Body to the Demigod level, or things would have been quite awkward.
Sylph activated the King Tree Domain. The effects of this Domain could cover the entire eastern part of the Mesopotamia Forest, even extending to the northern mountains and reaching the grasslands at the edge of the Forest. Its range was exceptionally vast. Relying on this Domain, Sylph could extend her Skills over extremely long distances and even sense Soul Fluctuations within the Domain.
Most of the Forest Elves who had been teleported over, with the exception of individuals like Liya, were in a dazed state. However, a gentle glow began to spread from the Spirit King Tree, Sylph, reaching every creature in the Forest, including Xiong Er. Even Ladong, who was diligently swinging his hoe in the fields, felt unusually energetic and more motivated to work.
The previously dazed Forest Elves gradually regained their senses. They looked at each other in disbelief, unable to believe they had broken free from that muddled state. The horror of opening their eyes to see their companions dead by their own hands, closing their eyes, and then opening them again to find themselves devouring living beings—they could not believe they had acted like beasts, completely unable to control their desires. And now, they were finally awake.
The Forest Elves looked at Liya kneeling before them and the group of Forest Elves who had regained their senses earlier. Tears streamed uncontrollably from their eyes. Before them stood an all-too-familiar Spirit King Tree—its Holy aura felt both familiar and strange. Familiar because it originated from the same source as their genes; strange because they had not encountered a Spirit King Tree in a long time, let alone even a Spirit Tree.
“We’ve finally found it. This is a real Spirit King Tree.”
A white-haired Forest Elf suddenly knelt on the ground, bursting into tears. They had been tormented by the curse for far too long, living like monsters in the wild, constantly burdening their companions and relying on them for survival. Now, they had finally recovered, like a blind person regaining their sight—a nightmare without end had finally come to a close.
From his elevated perspective, Zhai Guangyi looked down upon the weeping Forest Elves. The System promptly notified him that he had gained 7,800 System Currency. He couldn’t help but marvel at his most devout Believers; just a single glance at him had turned them into his Followers. They were truly impressive. Now, as Zhai Guangyi gazed at these Forest Elves, he found them utterly adorable—though, to be fair, they had always been exceptionally cute.
Aside from the System Currency brought by these Forest Elves, the souls of four Half-Step Demigod human powerhouses had also yielded considerable gains. Additionally, the souls of some other powerful humans had contributed to Zhai Guangyi’s earnings. Combined with his previous remaining balance, Zhai Guangyi now possessed over 42,000 System Currency.
Even a small-scale battle could bring such substantial rewards—no wonder the Demon King was always fond of inciting wars. It wasn’t that everyone enjoyed conflict, but rather that the benefits of war were simply too great.
The evolution mechanism of this World seemed to encourage slaughter, though in reality, it was a world of survival of the fittest, which was only natural. However, losing one’s rationality to the allure of war’s rewards was unwise. He had no desire to become a war machine or the target of public condemnation. Yet, sometimes, for the sake of survival, war became an unavoidable necessity.
First, Zhai Guangyi spent 1,000 System Currency, instructing the System to use ‘World’ to investigate the curse afflicting the Forest Elves. After all, this was another Unique Skill, and anything bearing the title “Unique” was not to be underestimated.
As a Skill that would handle any task as long as it was paid for, examining the details of a curse was nothing out of the ordinary. Currently, the curse on the Forest Elves had not vanished; it had merely been weakened within Sylph’s King Tree Domain. If they strayed too far from the Spirit King Tree, the curse’s power would resurface. To completely eradicate it, System Currency would need to be expended, or they would have to be elevated to Demigod status.
If he were to spend System Currency to remove the curse, it would be more cost-effective to use it to help them ascend to Demigod status instead. Although eliminating the curse required less expenditure, it offered lower value for the cost. After all, he was a thrifty and responsible man. Even though he had grown considerably wealthier from this battle, he still needed to be frugal.
Through the System’s analysis, Zhai Guangyi saw a red thread above the head of each Forest Elf. These red threads stretched endlessly into the sky, as if without end. Relying on the power of ‘World,’ Zhai Guangyi was constantly consuming System Currency. Without further hesitation, he followed the red threads, extending his vision along their path. Once again, he felt the overwhelming power of ‘World.’
These red threads seemed to span half the continent. His vision passed over Banwang City, extending further to reveal numerous human City-States. He saw Human Armies battling Demon Humans on the ground and witnessed bustling capitals. At this point, countless red threads appeared, converging from all corners of the World and gathering in the distance.
The view shifts to a forest filled with skeletons, the entire woodland tinged a blood-red hue. Even the sky is pitch black, with sunlight unable to penetrate. Upon arriving here, Zhai Guangyi could feel his Soul trembling. The crimson threads still stretched deep into the Forest, but the surrounding environment had already stirred thoughts of retreat in him.
