Chapter 160: Portal
Chapter 160: Portal
Zhai Guangyi looked down at the Followers beneath him. He now felt something strange—these people who trusted him, who supported him, were the most important beings to him in this World. Even if it weren’t for his own advancement, Zhai Guangyi did not want anything to happen to them.
“Mommy! Will Mommy come back to stay with us?”
A blue-haired Primordial Spirit beside Xiao Ai timidly asked Zhai Guangyi.
Zhai Guangyi slowly descended, approaching these adorable and well-behaved Primordial Spirit Cubs. Looking at these children who were about the same size as him, Zhai Guangyi felt a complex mix of emotions.
After all, these Primordial Spirits were lives he had created in this World. Even if his original purpose was to increase combat strength, these lives were truly his own children.
In his Previous Life, Zhai Guangyi had no experience as a father, but he still understood the concept of taking responsibility. He was inherently somewhat lazy and had always left them to Liya and the others to manage. Now, with a physical body, hearing these children call him “Mommy” one after another, Zhai Guangyi’s heart was deeply moved.
The child before him was named Funiya, probably the most talented among these children aside from Xiao Ai.
Zhai Guangyi did not let his feet fully touch the ground but hovered at a certain height, gently reaching out to stroke Funiya’s head. If he were to stand fully on the ground, he wasn’t confident he would be taller than these children. It would be awkward if he had to tiptoe just to pat their heads.
“Good! I won’t abandon you.”
Hearing their mother’s gentle voice, the Primordial Spirits nodded in unison, as if these words held infinite Magic Power, enchanting them so deeply.
After comforting the children, Zhai Guangyi decided to teleport to the Dragonkin territory—the final battleground of this Divine War.
Feicui would also accompany him. In truth, Liya and the others also wanted to follow and protect their Deity. But looking at the Spirit Fruit in her hands and the task entrusted by Zhai Guangyi, she couldn’t accompany him.
Even if they wanted to go along, Zhai Guangyi did not intend to bring them. As for Feicui, he wasn’t exactly his Follower—more like a problematic employee left over from an acquired enterprise. Zhai Guangyi respected his wishes and choices.
Zhai Guangyi had never been to the Dragonkin territory, so he could only teleport to the village where Ladong had been before. After all, without having visited a place, Zhai Guangyi couldn’t teleport there directly.
Even relying on the World’s terrain records for teleportation, Zhai Guangyi feared accidents, such as appearing right in the middle of the battlefield, which would be rather awkward.
Recalling images of portals from animations, as he imagined the scene in his mind, Zhai Guangyi uttered the word “door.”
The church door before him instantly transformed. Pale golden specks of light spread out from the church door, and the solemn, Holy gate had changed, now leading directly to the village of Ladong and the other Wyvern-kin.
“This Portal will remain here. If overly powerful enemies discover its existence, you can destroy it directly.”
Zhai Guangyi explained in a very calm tone.
Feicui and Liya watched this scene in astonishment, their hearts filled with awe. Was this the power of a Deity?
In this World, Spatial Magic is among the most advanced forms of Magic, including Teleportation Magic, which can only transport individuals and cannot be sustained for long periods.
Bidirectional Teleportation Arrays require vast amounts of Magic Power and Magic Crystals to maintain, which is why Lvqi’s Ultimate Skill, Alien Space, holds such immense strategic value.
Yet this ‘door’ that can persist indefinitely shattered everyone’s understanding of Magic—it was a technique never before seen, a divine Skill created by a Deity.
Under the gaze of Liya and the others, Feicui followed the White-Haired Maiden through this door, emerging into a desolate, abandoned village. This door was precisely the one connected to Ladong’s toilet.
Zhai Guangyi didn’t understand why it led to this door either. Perhaps it was because the stench of Ladong’s toilet had left such a deep impression on him. Ladong’s house had already collapsed, and this door now opened directly onto this bleak, ruined village, where no one remained.
Feicui stepped out as well.
“From here on, allow me to guide you.
If you don’t mind, please take a seat on my back.”
Feicui transformed into his true form—a small dragon with butterfly-like wings, a Faerie Dragon. Though not large in size, his form was elegant and graceful.
“Mm.”
Zhai Guangyi indeed didn’t know the way forward, so having a familiar guide was the best possible arrangement. He placed his legs to one side of Feicui’s dragon back, sitting sideways on the Faerie Dragon.
Though the Faerie Dragon wasn’t large, compared to Zhai Guangyi’s stature, it was still quite sizable. Sitting astride would have been somewhat inelegant, but sitting sideways felt just right. The dragon’s back was soft and elastic.
Feicui slowly ascended into the air, flying toward the direction of the Dragon Clan Territory. He flew swiftly yet steadily, without any of the restlessness he had displayed earlier.
Zhai Guangyi’s weight was light, barely noticeable to Feicui, but the pressure on his heart was immense. After all, he was carrying a Deity—one who looked exactly like his own Deity.
Feicui’s emotions were complex. His dream had always been to become the mount of the Elven Divine Tree, Sylph, flying through the Elven Kingdom with his Deity on his back, revered by all. Yet the reality before him was entirely different from his fantasies.
A Deity who seemed familiar yet unfamiliar sat behind him. Below lay a desolate, ruined village, and beyond the Cliff stretched a vast expanse of white snow. Their destination was not the Elven Kingdom but a battlefield of deities—carrying another Deity to confront his own.
While Feicui wrestled with his own turmoil, Zhai Guangyi’s heart was also unsettled. He had been roughly discarded by Feicui into this very snowfield before. An ordinary, young Primordial Spirit would have struggled to survive in such conditions.
Now, however, he was riding atop an unusually docile Feicui, retracing old ground as they headed toward a new, unfamiliar land. This Forest truly was immense.
The entirety of the Forest unfolded in Zhai Guangyi’s mind as his Soul’s Divine Sense continuously expanded outward. Along with this Divine Sense came a certain Divine Pressure, causing many Magical Beasts within the Forest to tremble and hide behind cover.
Releasing his Divine Sense too forcefully and dominantly seemed to disrupt the Forest’s natural ecosystem. Zhai Guangyi softened and gentled his Divine Sense, making it imperceptible to ordinary creatures and removing the oppressive pressure.
Every action of the Deity seemed to affect all things, and even a careless glance could cause certain harm. Realizing that his behavior was somewhat excessive, Zhai Guangyi gradually withdrew his gaze from the Forest.
He was now an immature Deity, lacking an accurate measure of the power he wielded. Everything has a first time, and becoming a deity is no exception.
Zhai Guangyi could sense that, at a distance of 367 kilometers ahead, a Circular Barrier had appeared. The situation inside the barrier could not be observed, as it contained the Power of Uniqueness, blocking Zhai Guangyi’s Divine Sense. This must be the location of the Divine War.
