Chapter 25: The More They Fought, the More Hooked They Got
Chapter 25: The More They Fought, the More Hooked They Got
A vast group of Wind Demon Panthers began to migrate. Many were carried by other Wind Demon Panthers, while some carried food such as Goblin meat chunks and fruits.
Everyone began a rapid relocation. This action would naturally attract the attention of the hostile Goblins, but it was impossible to leave a Small Team behind to block them now.
The Goblins sent to monitor the Wind Demon Panthers noticed their collective migration and naturally wouldn’t let this opportunity slip. They quickly returned to report the situation.
In no time, two Giant Goblins led over a hundred smaller Goblins to occupy the forest where the Wind Demon Panthers had lived, sweeping away all the food left behind.
Of course, they wouldn’t simply let the Wind Demon Panthers leave so easily. They began leading their forces to pursue them.
Wind Demon Panthers were relatively fast, but most were injured. Some carried severely wounded or unconscious companions, while others carried food, making their movements somewhat slow.
“It seems a Goblin Legion is chasing us!”
A Wind Demon Panther ran up to Cat Girl and let out a few howls. Understanding its meaning, Cat Girl immediately turned to Xiong Er.
“Then Mom and I will stay behind to deal with them. You all go ahead.”
Without hesitation, Xiong Batian jumped off the Storm Holy Wolf and patted the soft fur on its back.
“Go inform Lord Divine Tree and request some support.”
The Storm Holy Wolf howled in understanding, then turned and began sprinting away. Its speed was so great that it vanished from sight in no time.
Xiong Batian was already wearing the clothes bestowed by Zhai Guangyi. Though still somewhat unaccustomed to them, it didn’t hinder her from swinging her Spiked Club with wide, sweeping motions.
“I’ll stay and fight alongside you too.”
Feeling uneasy about leaving Xiong Er to face the enemy alone, Cat Girl proactively stood beside her.
As soon as Cat Girl stepped forward, many Wind Demon Panthers refused to leave, choosing to stay and fight alongside her. After all, she was the future hope of the Wind Demon Panther tribe.
“You go ahead first. If you don’t leave, they won’t either. Don’t worry, we’ll catch up soon.”
Xiong Er pushed Cat Girl’s back gently and pointed at the Wind Demon Panthers preparing to return and defend as she spoke.
“Alright, then be careful.”
With that, only Xiong Er and Xiong Batian remained in the forest, along with a Storm Holy Wolf.
In no time, two Goblins emerged from the bushes, peeking out. Xiong Batian immediately delivered two blows with her club, sending them to the underworld as guests.
Just as she dealt with those two, an endless stream of green-skinned little Dwarves began emerging from the woods. The number of Goblins was uncountable.
Xiong Er directly unleashed a Lightning Strike, conducting a large-scale electrocution. The roar of thunder echoed across the clear sky as Goblins were continuously struck into charred remains. For a moment, even the fearless Goblins took a few steps back.
Such large-scale Lightning Strikes consumed a great deal of Magic Power. In no time, Xiong Er’s Magic Power was depleted. Fighting off drowsiness, she pulled out a Magic Power fruit, climbed onto the Storm Holy Wolf’s back, and prepared to retreat.
Xiong Batian wasn’t foolish enough to face so many Goblins alone either. She began retreating rapidly, delivering a blow with her club whenever a Goblin approached her, eliminating them one by one.
After recovering her Magic Power, Xiong Er once again began casting Lightning Strikes from the back of the Storm Holy Wolf. After each attack, she would rely on the Storm Holy Wolf’s speed to quickly retreat.
Of course, it was absolutely impossible for just the two of them to stop hundreds or even thousands of Goblins, but they could manage brief harassment.
A squad of Goblins quickly fell to Xiong Batian’s hands. During her free moments, she also took the time to extract the Magic Crystals from the Goblins.
The Giant Goblins were somewhat slower than ordinary Goblins, making it impossible for them to effectively counter the agile and evasive movements of Xiong Batian and her companion.
And so, a back-and-forth game of chase and retreat ensued, dragging on until they reached the opposite bank of the river. The two crossed the river and continued running toward Zhai Guangyi’s direction.
By now, the Goblins were so enraged at the sight of Xiong Er and Xiong Batian that they wished to tear them to shreds. A horde of Goblins charged directly into the river.
The swift current swept away many Goblins, but this was no obstacle for the Goblin army.
The Goblins began linking themselves together, hand to foot, forming a makeshift bridge of Goblin bodies that spanned both banks. Countless Goblins piled up to create a massive, living bridge.
Immediately after, the Goblins surged across to the opposite shore, including the Giant Goblins. This time, there were seven Giant Goblins, and the number of ordinary Goblins was simply uncountable.
Having crossed the river, the Goblins pressed onward, continuing in the direction where the Wind Demon Panthers had migrated.
Less than a quarter of an hour after the Goblins resumed their advance, the sky suddenly darkened with dense clouds. Rain poured down without warning, accompanied by the relentless sounds of wind, rain, and thunder. The fierce gales blew the smaller Goblins off their feet, forcing them to cling to larger trees to resist the force of the wind.
At that moment, dark shadows began darting through the Forest, as if merging with the storm itself—perhaps they were the very embodiment of the storm.
The Giant Goblins grew alert simultaneously.
Before they could even react, dark gray Storm Demon Wolves began emerging from the storm, lunging at the Goblins and biting directly into their necks and other vital spots.
In no time, over a hundred Goblins lay dead. Even the powerful Giant Goblins were fiercely pounced upon and pinned to the ground by the Storm Holy Wolves. Several Storm Demon Wolves coordinated with a single Storm Holy Wolf to attack one Giant Goblin.
There were nine Storm Holy Wolves in total, more than enough to handle these Giant Goblins. Within the storm, their strength was greatly enhanced.
Unlike the Storm Demon Wolves, they not only remained unaffected by the storm but also gained steadily increasing resistance to all attributes the longer they stayed within it, growing more formidable with each passing moment.
Then there was Little Husky Two. He directly activated Holy Spirit Transformation, being the only one to have evolved into a Holy Spirit Demon Wolf.
Holy Spirit Transformation caused him to grow into a massive silver wolf nearly five meters in size. His immense frame granted him tremendous strength, increasing his power by more than double. If his Level could rise further, it seemed doubling again would not be an issue.
His strength reached an astonishing 1500, a value even Xiong Batian could not match.
With a single swipe of his paw, he sent two Giant Goblins flying. Little Husky Two did not let this opportunity slip, pouncing on one of the fallen Giant Goblins and tearing into it ferociously.
Soon, one Giant Goblin lay dead under his assault.
The Storm Demon Wolves fought with increasing ferocity. In the past, they had relied on the weather for their strength, often finding themselves too weak when encountering enemies on sunny days. But now it was different—whenever they fought, a storm would arrive, and the more they battled, the more addicted they became.
