Chapter 29: Birth

Chapter 29: Birth

A week had passed since Xiong Da left the Forest. Apart from Xiong Er, who stayed home every day refusing to go out, the other Magical Beasts were living their lives as usual.

When Goblins attacked, they followed Xiong Batian’s instructions to fight back. If injured, they ate some Healing Fruit; if seriously wounded, they requested Zhai Guangyi’s healing. There was basically nothing new or interesting, and Zhai Guangyi also found it a bit dull.

He couldn’t help but feel a little envious of the carefree Xiong Da. However, before his Transmigration, He Xiaoxiao had been a quiet girl, not as free-spirited as Xiong Da was now, able to leave without hesitation.

But Zhai Guangyi’s Elf body was nearly complete, and the System now sent him a prompt.

“Notice: The Elf body prepared for the master is complete. Please prepare to adapt to the new body.”

As soon as the System finished speaking, Zhai Guangyi saw the pale pink fruit hanging at the top of the tree, completely covered in silver patterns, begin to develop a mark resembling a page.

These marks grew more numerous, and then the fruit began to bloom. Petals continuously unfolded, interwoven with silver and pink. The air began to fill with a faint, delicate fragrance, somewhat like a blend of jasmine and sandalwood.

In an instant, the spherical fruit transformed into a giant flower. The flower seemed to form a bed, and Zhai Guangyi’s new body lay within its petals.

Immediately afterward, a wave of dizziness washed over him. Zhai Guangyi felt as though heaven and earth had reversed. His senses began to fade, as if he were sinking into the deep sea. Everything around him slowly darkened and disappeared until, finally, Zhai Guangyi entered a pitch-black space.

He didn’t know how long this sensation lasted. Then came a feeling of vertical descent, like falling off a Cliff, bringing back the dizziness and weightlessness.

“Ugh…”

A unique floral scent and the air of the woods simultaneously flooded Zhai Guangyi’s nostrils. This unfamiliar sensation made him feel as though his insides were churning. The dizziness caused him to retch uncontrollably.

At the same time, he greedily took deep breaths of the natural air. His once broad, unobstructed view from high above was now limited to a small patch before his eyes, and Zhai Guangyi still wasn’t quite used to it.

Raising his hands, he looked at his somewhat slender, pale, and delicate arms. Zhai Guangyi felt moved, and tears began to stream down his face.

Finally, finally, he had become human.

Zhai Guangyi had just tried to stand up, but he hadn’t expected to be so unsteady. It was as if his legs had no strength at all, unable to support his body. He simply toppled forward, his entire body leaving the giant flower, spinning through the air as he fell.

“System, I’m going to die! Why can’t I use my Skills? Ahhh!”

“Notice: The master’s current Magic Power is too low to use Skills.”

Zhai Guangyi flailed helplessly in the air. Skills that he could once use with a mere thought when he was a tree now seemed to have vanished, leaving him like an ordinary person, spinning and falling uncontrollably.

Just as Zhai Guangyi was about to crash into the ground, a nimble figure darted out from a tree, caught him, and held him in her arms.

The two of them seemed weightless in the air, floating down like fallen leaves, landing gently on the ground.

Zhai Guangyi opened his eyes at this moment and finally saw that it was Qiqi who had saved him, the leader of the Wind Demon Panthers. He let out a sigh of relief.

Qiqi gently placed Zhai Guangyi on the ground. When he tried to stand up again, he ended up sitting back down, even feeling a bit of pain.

“Who are you? How did you fall from the tree?”

Zhai Guangyi looked at Qiqi, who was leaning in to observe him, and suddenly felt a bit shy. After all, he wasn’t wearing any clothes.

‘System, quickly get me a cheap and suitable set of clothes from the System Shop.’

As Zhai Guangyi shouted in his mind, a white mass began to materialize in front of him, and soon a simple set of clothing appeared in his hands.

The clothes he usually gave to Xiong Er and Xiong Da came with Attribute Bonuses, and the System rated them as blue quality, which was considered excellent. However, to save System Currency, Zhai Guangyi had exchanged for ordinary clothes without any bonuses for himself, costing only 1 System Currency.

Taking the clothes, Zhai Guangyi quickly put them on. It was a simple one-piece white robe that covered his entire body once he slipped it on.

After all, it wasn’t great to be stared at by a girl for too long.

“Um… I’m…”

Zhai Guangyi quickly finished dressing and was just thinking about how to answer Qiqi when he noticed her staring at the giant flower at the top of the tree, deep in thought. Suddenly, she spoke up.

“You must be the offspring of Lord Divine Tree. I noticed a month ago that there seemed to be life inside the fruit up there. I never thought Lord Divine Tree would have children.”

Especially since Zhai Guangyi had conjured clothes out of thin air, just like the blessings of Lord Divine Tree—it was magical. Moreover, she had heard that Lord Divine Tree was an Elven Divine Tree, so it wasn’t strange for an Elf to be born from a tree.

So, Elves are born from trees? Another piece of knowledge I didn’t have before.

Qiqi thought to herself as she crouched down and reached out to pat Zhai Guangyi’s hair.

Zhai Guangyi now looked like a Human child of about six years old, with a petite body, a slightly round face, slender and slightly drooping Elven ears, and long blue-green hair.

His hair reached about shoulder length, with a dark blue-green hue leaning more toward blue. His already fair skin appeared even rosier against this hair color. He also had a pair of golden eyes, like topaz, that seemed as if they could speak.

Additionally, the Elven Race tended to have more feminine or neutral features, so Zhai Guangyi in his young state looked quite adorable.

Zhai Guangyi thought to himself that he was indeed born from himself—he was a tree, after all—so calling himself the son of the Divine Tree wasn’t wrong. That’s how it would be. After all, having an identity when venturing out in the world was a good thing, and he couldn’t be bothered to explain too much.

“Yes, I came from that flower.”

Zhai Guangyi pointed at the giant flower at the top of the tree and nodded.

Seeing that Zhai Guangyi was still sitting on the grass and seemed unable to walk, Qiqi picked him up.

“I’m Sister Qiqi. I’ll take you to Aunt Xiong Batian!”

Aunt Xiong Batian…

Hearing this title, Zhai Guangyi’s face twisted slightly, but out of politeness, he responded to Qiqi and obediently nodded.

Hearing this name, Zhai Guangyi couldn’t help but mutter to himself again. He should have given her a more normal name from the start—it sounded too strange now. Maybe he should find time to give her a new Blessing later?
