Chapter 53: Teleportation

Chapter 53: Teleportation

Zhai Guangyi somewhat understood Feicui’s meaning. If that was the case, the Demon King’s target was this Primordial Spirit body, and he hadn’t set his sights on the True Body.

In fact, this was a very favorable outcome. The True Body was far more valuable than this body—the Demon King truly lacked foresight.

“In that case, you all should head back first. I’ll go alone to lure away the Demon King’s forces. That way, the Spirit King Tree will be safer. The Demon King’s powerful subordinates wouldn’t dare enter this Forest, so it should be relatively safe for you to return now.”

Zhai Guangyi spoke to Xiong Er and the others with a sense of relief.

They would bring the Black Bear Clan back, allowing the True Body to gain more Followers. This way, he could also obtain more Skill Points, grant Blessings to more Magical Beasts, and gradually grow stronger.

This body would serve as bait—it could buy as much time as possible. Even if he couldn’t shake them off, he would at least bite back.

“Are you out of your mind? There are so many Giant Goblins, and the Demon King’s subordinates are bound to be stronger than that Shabi! Are you trying to get yourself killed?”

Xiong Er stepped in front of Zhai Guangyi, grabbing his shoulders and shaking him vigorously.

“Hmm, I don’t agree with this either. It’s too dangerous.”

Qiqi also walked over, crouched down, and looked at Zhai Guangyi, making him feel somewhat embarrassed.

“Right, I’m here. I can protect you.”

Xiong Batian spun her Spiked Club once before slamming it hard into the ground. Placing both hands on it, she struck a Guardian Stance and spoke with imposing authority.

Zhai Guangyi was touched, but he also felt guilty for deceiving everyone. It wasn’t that he wanted to play with their emotions, but the dignity of the Spirit King Tree didn’t allow him to tell the truth.

“Their target is me. As long as I run away and they can’t find me, they won’t be able to do anything to you all. The Forest is vast—there’s always a chance to survive. Trust me, you should head back first.”

“Then I’ll go with you. We can watch out for each other.”

Xiong Er seemed to have made a significant decision in her heart, wearing an expression of heroic sacrifice.

Zhai Guangyi’s eyelids twitched unnaturally. What’s up with this guy? I’ve never seen you so brave before! When playing games, you’d only test the waters at the edges, refusing to leave the beginner village even after all this time. What’s gotten into you today?

“Ugh, you’re all so indecisive. If the Demon King gets serious, no matter how many of you go, it’ll just be a death sentence. I’ll teleport this little Elf far away, and then it’ll be up to his fate. How about that?”

Feicui had thought they were ready to set off, but this group started dithering again, talking this and that—it was utterly annoying. Helpless, he could only speak up.

“Deal!”

Zhai Guangyi agreed immediately. Being able to escape was the best outcome—he wasn’t picky, as long as Xiong Batian and the others didn’t follow.

“Where will you send him?”

Xiong Er was still worried. She hadn’t expected her good friend, who had only Transmigrated a few days ago, to be constantly hunted down. Life was truly harsh.

“To the northern center of the Forest. It’s closer to the Dragonkin territory. Dragonkin generally don’t attack Elves, and they’re more active there. If the Demon King’s regular troops show up, they wouldn’t dare venture too deep. Large-scale invasions by Giant Goblins would also be hindered by the local Magical Beast factions.”

Zhai Guangyi felt it was just right. He was still a bit worried about whether those chasing him could accurately locate his position. If they lost track of him, would they turn around and cause trouble for his True Body?

“No problem. You two should hurry back. I don’t know how those guys figured out where I was, but they reacted within just two days.”

“It’s possible they have powerful tracking Skills or Magic Artifacts. The moment they encountered you, they might have marked you through a Magic Mirror. You’ll have to keep running. Staying in one place for too long will lock your location. I’m only responsible for using Magic to send you there. The rest is up to you.”

Feicui raised his hand and gathered Magic Power. Symbols began to appear on the ground, gradually forming a circle. The symbols inside rotated continuously as a large amount of Magic Power poured into it.

Zhai Guangyi and Xiong Er both stared wide-eyed. This kind of Magic Circle was truly marvelous, but both of them lacked knowledge in this area. They could only rely on Skills to have Elemental Spirits perform simple Magic, but they themselves found it difficult to accomplish.

Xiong Er took out her Magic Mirror and quietly sought help from the Spirit King Tree, asking whether sending Zhai Guangyi away was the right decision. Xiong Er felt that since the Spirit King Tree had nurtured Zhai Guangyi, he was like its own child. If the Spirit King Tree disapproved, she would stop him or accompany him.

Zhai Guangyi’s True Body, Sylph, immediately heard Xiong Er’s plea for help. Zhai Guangyi chuckled inwardly. This also resolved Xiong Er’s lingering concerns about him. Happily, he had the System send Xiong Er a task.

‘Escort the Black Bear Clan. Reward: 50 Skill Points. Note: Zhai Guangyi has another mission.’

Xiong Er glanced at Zhai Guangyi and waved the Magic Mirror in her hand at him.

“Don’t worry, we’ll stay in touch through the Magic Mirror.”

After replying to Xiong Er, Zhai Guangyi turned to look at Feicui. The formation of the Magic Circle still needed a little more time. He took a step forward, passing Xiong Batian. Seizing the moment, he asked one last question.

“I have one final question. For you, which is more valuable—a living Primordial Spirit or a Spirit King Tree?”

“Hmm? That’s an excellent question. You’ve hit the nail on the head.

Actually, you’re asking me, if I were the Demon King, would it be better to capture a Primordial Spirit or a Spirit King Tree, right?

If I were the Demon King and knew a Primordial Spirit existed, I would definitely go and capture it. A Spirit King Tree is just a tree with a higher status, no different from a guardian like me—not very useful. But that Spirit King Tree is different. A Spirit King Tree capable of nurturing a Primordial Spirit is far more valuable than you. I can certainly tell the difference between a one-time opportunity and multiple opportunities.

Good luck, then. Take care, and I won’t see you off.”

Feicui flipped his palm without warning Zhai Guangyi to prepare and infused the last trace of Magic Power into the Teleportation Array. The characters on the Magic Circle began to spin rapidly.

A dark crack suddenly appeared in the air, and a powerful suction force began pulling at Zhai Guangyi within the array. Zhai Guangyi instinctively resisted for a moment.

Zhai Guangyi looked at Feicui’s strange grin, unsure what this guy was plotting in his mind—whether it was good or bad. But never mind, anyway, if he died, it wouldn’t be a real death. Being teleported away might even bring a chance for a turnaround.

Zhai Guangyi stopped resisting and let the System help control the Magic Power enveloping his body. Following the pulling force, he used Wind Control to soar directly into the air and fly into that crack.

In no time, Zhai Guangyi felt himself entering a weightless space. There was nothing inside—just pitch-black darkness. Before he could observe carefully, a sudden sense of falling overwhelmed him.

Zhai Guangyi opened his eyes to see the sky inverted above him. He found himself lying on a snowy ground, surrounded by vast stretches of white snow. Tall forests blocked most of his view, making it impossible to see the nearby situation clearly.
