Chapter 55: Giant Dragon

Chapter 55: Giant Dragon

Zhai Guangyi controlled the Flying Staff, familiarizing himself with it slightly before beginning to increase his current flight altitude.

Truth be told, he felt somewhat lost. This Forest was vast, filled with many dangers. The enemy could track his location, but he couldn’t grasp the enemy’s position at any time or place.

After flying to about two thousand meters above the ground, the staff seemed unable to handle it any further. The speed of ascent slowed down—this altitude was likely the limit for this staff.

Fortunately, at two thousand meters high, most of the surroundings could be seen clearly at a glance. However, this Forest was an exception—it was simply too vast, seemingly without borders. Even at the horizon’s edge, it was still Forest.

Zhai Guangyi could only rely on the connection between his Soul and his True Body to roughly determine his current location.

It was said earlier that there was a mountain range to the north, where the Troll Race also lived nearby. Zhai Guangyi was now just a bit beyond that mountain range, having just crossed over it. Continuing northward would lead to the center of the Mesopotamia Forest.

Originally, Zhai Guangyi had planned to go to the mountain range to recruit the Troll Race, but now that he was already beyond it, there was no need to go back and make contact with them. To avoid encountering the Demon King’s forces that were tracking him, it was better to continue northward and enter the center of the Forest.

Looking north, the Forest still stretched as far as the eye could see. Apart from being covered in a layer of snow, it was no different from the southern part.

However, compared to the southern Forest, this area was more serene, as if there were no Magical Beasts around. But Zhai Guangyi knew that this place was only more dangerous than outside the mountain range.

Feicui had probably mentioned that there were also local Magical Beasts here, which might help block some of the Giant Goblins. For example, those of the Troll Race—if the Giant Goblins crossed the mountain range, they would surely encounter the Trolls living there, which could help Zhai Guangyi fend them off.

Zhai Guangyi muttered softly, “If only I could use Teleportation Magic like Feicui.”

“Notice: Teleportation Array has been fully learned. It can be purchased and used with System Currency in the store.”

Zhai Guangyi glanced at the store—300 System Currency, and it could only take him to places he had visited before. So expensive.

“Since you’ve already learned it, why do I still need to buy it with System Currency? Can’t you just use Magic Power to create it for me?”

“Notice: The Teleportation Magic used by unit Feicui is based on Level 7 Spirit Magic. Constructing the array is only an auxiliary function.”

Level 7 Spirit Magic!

Zhai Guangyi hadn’t expected Feicui, at only Level 67, to have already raised his Spirit Magic to Level 7 or higher. How many Skill Points must that have cost? Level 6 required two thousand, let alone Level 7. No wonder Feicui hadn’t even learned Appraisal.

Although he still had over three thousand unallocated Skill Points, Zhai Guangyi hadn’t even been willing to upgrade to Level 6, wanting to save them for Leveling Up the System. It seemed he needed to allocate them more reasonably.

Controlling the Magic Power of the staff, Zhai Guangyi was about to descend, as sustained high-altitude Flight consumed more Magic Power. It would be more efficient to fly at a lower altitude.

At that moment, a piercing shriek came from above Zhai Guangyi. Instinctively, he activated Stealth, concealing his aura and vanishing from sight.

Zhai Guangyi’s Stealth wasn’t particularly advanced, only at level 4, but achieving complete invisibility on the surface was still no problem. If it were only level 2 or 3, it would be like camouflage invisibility—if his movements were too large, his figure would easily be exposed.

Three enormous Giant Dragons glided past above Zhai Guangyi’s head. The airflow in the sky was stirred by their speed, generating a powerful impact that sent the floating Zhai Guangyi flying dozens of meters away.

The Giant Dragons were incredibly fast. In just an instant, their shadows had already turned into three small black dots on the horizon.

All three Giant Dragons were heading toward the mountain range, disappearing from sight in the blink of an eye.

They were too fast. By the time Zhai Guangyi stabilized his posture, he didn’t even have time to use Appraisal before the Giant Dragons vanished. They didn’t seem to notice his small frame either.

Although the Faerie Dragon Feicui had said that Dragonkin generally wouldn’t attack Elves, what if they did? Zhai Guangyi didn’t dare to take that risk. It was better to obediently hide and flee while keeping a low profile.

Watching the Giant Dragons fly toward the mountain range, Zhai Guangyi felt puzzled. Why did those Giant Dragons always like to head toward the mountains? The entire Forest knew that Giant Dragons often appeared there. Could it be just for a bite of Troll? Like the legendary “going to the dock for some fries”?

“Forget it, this isn’t something I should worry about.”

Zhai Guangyi kept his Stealth active to reduce the chances of conflict with Magical Beasts, flying as efficiently as possible toward the depths of the northern Forest.

On Zhai Guangyi’s True Body Sylph’s side, although Little Husky Two had followed the Giant Goblin troops, the moment Zhai Guangyi teleported away, the Giant Goblins dispersed and no longer gathered as an army.

Instead, groups of five to eight Giant Goblins gathered together and headed north, with even a few Demon Goblins visible among them. As for other types of Magical Beasts or Demon Humans, Little Husky Two didn’t find any.

With them so scattered, Little Husky Two couldn’t complete the tracking mission and could only return to report to the Spirit King Tree.

Zhai Guangyi sighed inwardly. As expected, they had locked onto his location. Escaping probably wouldn’t be so easy. He could only use the Primordial Spirit to delay them for a while longer while he hurried to develop his strength on this side.

Xiong Batian and the others would take two days to return. As for the Giant Goblins’ movement speed, crossing the northern mountain range would likely take at least half a month. The Demon Goblins were probably the main force pursuing Zhai Guangyi.

But with just these forces, capturing Zhai Guangyi in this vast Forest would likely be difficult. There might still be stronger pursuers lurking in the shadows, so he had to remain cautious. His True Body’s vicinity also needed heightened vigilance.

At the territory of the Trolls in the northern mountain range, three silver Giant Dragons landed there, kicking up a massive cloud of dust that scattered into the air. As the dust settled, three figures appeared within it.

Two men and one woman, all three wore wide-sleeved robes resembling Daoist attire. One of the men had half of his collar pulled down, revealing a thick arm covered in dragon tattoos. Though his appearance was strikingly handsome, he seemed somewhat unkempt, with wild hair and a coarse beard.

The other man appeared refined and scholarly, dressed neatly and cleanly, with a relatively slender build. The two men looked remarkably similar, standing one behind the other like brothers.

The woman was exceptionally beautiful, with fair, flawless skin and a tall, slender figure. Her demeanor was as elegant and aloof as an iceberg, her silver hair cascading down like a waterfall of molten silver.

With a wave of her hand, she summoned a gust of wind that swept away the lingering dust in the air.

A man dressed rather neatly patted his clothes in mild annoyance and said to another man, “Brother Yang, how many times have I told you? Don’t descend so quickly! Now I’m covered in dust, and it’s so inconvenient to take a bath right now.”
