Chapter 56 – The Fallen Ancient Demon God

Chapter 56 – The Fallen Ancient Demon God

Qiu Bai’s gaze calmly watched the Overlord of the Vortex, Osial, whose Divine Power had been completely exhausted.

“ROAR!!”

Osial, on the brink of death, unwillingly slammed his massive heads against the sea.

Waves of tsunamis surged in all directions!

Seeing this, Qiu Bai frowned slightly and raised the sword in his hand above his head.

“Slash.”

A single word, “slash,” spoken softly by Qiu Bai, echoed loud enough to be heard across Liyue Harbor.

As Qiu Bai swung his sword, the sky turned white and the earth black, as if the entire world was about to descend into chaos.

Time itself seemed to freeze at the moment the sword was swung.

An utterly terrifying sword aura, as if capable of splitting heaven and earth, flickered between black and white, and space itself seemed on the verge of being severed by it!

This sword aura passed through Osial’s body at an unimaginable speed!

Then, the sea parted along the path of the sword aura, revealing the seabed, while the dark clouds in the sky were torn apart, leaving a massive gap!

Sunlight streamed through this distant opening, illuminating the sea.

The sword aura, after traversing countless uninhabited islands, finally came to a halt. Every island it passed over was completely split in two!

On the Jade Chamber, Paimon hovered in the air, dumbfounded, staring at Qiu Bai in the distance.

“The sky…”

“The sky has been split open!”

Paimon’s pupils dilated as she gazed at the distant figure, muttering in shock.

Lumine also stood frozen, staring blankly at the figure in the distance, goosebumps rising all over her body.

At this moment, both Paimon and Lumine were utterly stunned. Was this the power of a god?

“Adeptus Lord…”

Keqing’s eyes remained fixed on the figure in the sky.

“Living in this era…”

“I truly have never witnessed a god unleashing their power before.”

Ningguang looked at the figure in the sky, unable to conceal the shock in her voice.

Several Adepti also stared in awe at the Adeptus Lord in the sky.

“The last time I saw such a scene was when Rex Lapis suppressed the Demon Gods.”

“I never imagined I would witness it again, now from the Adeptus Lord.”

Moon Carver spoke with a mix of emotion and astonishment.

“The Adeptus Lord has slain the Overlord of the Vortex.”

“But what of the God-Demon Grudge that will follow?”

Mountain Shaper looked at the other Adepti beside him and asked with some confusion.

“You old fool, the Adeptus Lord is no fool.”

“Surely he knows about the God-Demon Grudge that arises after a Demon God’s death?”

Cloud Retainer turned her crane head, looking at Mountain Shaper as if he were an idiot.

“Since the Adeptus Lord has slain the Overlord of the Vortex…”

“He must have a way to dispel the God-Demon Grudge.”

Ganyu stepped forward from behind and addressed the True Lords.

Meanwhile, the common people of Liyue Harbor, witnessing the sword strike that seemed to split heaven and earth, stood dumbfounded in the streets, gazing at the figure in the sky. For them, this was the first time in their era they had witnessed the power of a god!

Hu Tao stared with wide, shocked eyes at the majestic figure in the sky!

“Oh my heavens!”

“The sky has been split open!”

Hu Tao exclaimed, her mouth agape, unable to contain her astonishment.

Then, Hu Tao glanced at Zhongli beside her.

She was eager to see what his shocked expression would look like.

But to her disappointment…

Zhongli remained with his arms crossed, his face showing no trace of surprise or shock, merely gazing calmly at the figure in the sky.

It was as if the Adeptus Lord’s sky-splitting sword strike had not stirred the slightest astonishment in him.

“I shouldn’t have even entertained the thought of him being shocked.”

“Just what could possibly make Zhongli feel surprised?”

Hu Tao’s mouth twitched fiercely as she looked at Zhongli like this, then turned her gaze back to the figure in the sky.

As Hu Tao turned away, a faint, almost imperceptible smile touched Zhongli’s lips.

Standing beside Zhongli, Qiu Yue also fixed her beautiful eyes on the figure in the sky.

“Brother…”

Qiu Yue murmured softly under her breath.

The streets of Liyue Harbor were now filled with Liyue’s people, a mother leading her child out into the open.

“Mom, the Adeptus Lord is so amazing!”

“Yes, he is our Liyue’s deity.”

The woman raised her head to look at the figure in the sky, her eyes gleaming with a childlike admiration.

“The Adeptus Lord, it’s the Adeptus Lord!”

“The Adeptus Lord is here, it’s safe now, everyone come out!”

On the streets of Liyue, people continued to emerge from their homes, for the citizens knew—they were safe now.

One by one, they gazed excitedly at the figure in the sky.

As for Osial’s location, all five of his heads and his body had been cleanly severed by Qiu Bai’s sword energy.

“Roar!”

“Roar…”

Osial’s roars grew weaker and weaker.

As the two severed halves of his body slowly collapsed, an enormous explosion erupted!

An ancient deity had thus fallen!

“What is this?”

Qiu Bai looked at the site of Osial’s demise.

Countless Demon God Residue, accompanied by the God-Demon Grudge, erupted violently from the sea.

Fish tainted by the grudge died instantly, and everything touched by the area around Osial’s death was transformed into seawater!

“Is that the God-Demon Grudge?”

“And the leakage after a Demon God’s death.”

Qiu Bai stood high in the sky, then flew directly to the site of Osial’s demise.

Observing the land gradually turning to seawater and the vast amounts of Demon God remains, he slightly closed his eyes.

Two figures split from within Qiu Bai—one black, one white.

Their appearances were identical to Qiu Bai’s. The Avatar of Yang, dressed in white, had a gentle look in his eyes.

The Avatar of Yin, dressed in black, had a somewhat cold gaze.

The two figures nodded slightly, and then the white-clad Qiu Bai descended upon the site of Osial’s demise.

Bringing his hands together, a dazzling, intense light burst forth from between them.

It completely purified all the grudge emitted by the Demon God remains and thoroughly halted the leakage.

The light illuminated the entirety of Liyue Harbor and the vast sea before it.

The fish in the sea became extraordinarily active, and the dark aura on those tainted by the God-Demon Grudge dissipated.

The lush green grasses and trees in the surrounding area continuously radiated vitality!

It was as if there were a sun, yet this sun was not blinding in the slightest.

The residents of Liyue Harbor each felt filled with strength, and the fallen Millelith soldiers of Liyue slowly rose to their feet.

Even the dead Fatui members in the vicinity gradually climbed up from the ground.

The first thing the revived Millelith soldiers did was surround the Fatui!

Meanwhile, on the Jade Chamber, Lumine stared at her hands in disbelief, then looked toward the source of the intense light.

“Why does this feel so similar to Qiu Bai’s white light?”

Lumine looked at her already somewhat worn hand, which was now healing, and murmured in confusion.
