Chapter 6 – The Immortal-Demon War
Chapter 6 – The Immortal-Demon War
“Ding! System detects intense desire near the host, temporarily awakening the host!”
“My head hurts so much!”
“I feel like all my strength is gone. Did the system wake me up early?”
Qiu Bai sat up, clutching his head.
“This is my cave abode, why is it so messy? And what’s happening outside, an earthquake?” Qiu Bai murmured.
“System, what happened!”
“Ding! Answering host, it is now five hundred years later. The calamity caused by Khaenri’ah is sweeping through Liyue. Outside, the Adepti and Greater Demons are engaged in a great battle!”
“So that’s it. I can only awaken for one hour now?” Qiu Bai murmured to himself.
Qiu Bai sensed someone in the cave abode and looked in that direction, nearly dropping his jaw in shock.
“This… this is Qiqi!”
Qiu Bai immediately teleported to Qiqi’s side. At that moment, the Immortal-Demon War outside suddenly ceased.
Cloud Retainer, Mountain Shaper, Ganyu, along with numerous other Adepti and those Greater Demons, simultaneously stopped fighting.
These Greater Demons emitted a dark, sinister aura, indescribably eerie.
“Is this the power of a Vision? What happened? That location is the Adeptus Lord’s cave abode.”
Mountain Shaper murmured.
Inside the cave at this moment.
“Qiqi still has a breath of life left, but with my Origin damaged, how can I save her?”
Qiu Bai looked at the pitiful Qiqi with reluctance.
Suddenly, Qiu Bai seemed to sense something.
“Wait, the auras outside are Cloud Retainer and the others. I know a way.”
Just as the Adepti and demons were watching the cave entrance, it suddenly exploded open. A man dressed in ink-black and white clothes, devastatingly handsome, walked out.
“It’s the Adeptus Lord!”
Ganyu was the first to cry out in joyful surprise.
Cloud Retainer and the others also looked at Qiu Bai with delight.
“Adeptus Lord, how have you awakened? Has your damage been healed?!”
Mountain Shaper looked at Qiu Bai excitedly.
If the Adeptus Lord had recovered now, then Liyue’s crisis could be resolved.
An Adeptus Lord capable of fighting against Rex Lapis, with Azhdaha the Dragon King also in Liyue—what were mere magical beasts and Greater Demons? This was what all the Adepti were thinking at this moment.
“Cease your battle for now. What does the war between Adepti and demons have to do with the little girl inside my cave abode?”
Qiu Bai said calmly, looking at the Greater Demons and Adepti in the sky.
The Greater Demons looked at Qiu Bai with immense shock in their hearts.
“A Demon God! An extremely powerful Demon God!”
They had all once been followers of Demon Gods and knew well their might.
“All you so-called Greater Demons, come down. Come with me to see that little girl.”
Qiu Bai glanced at the group of Greater Demons and said lightly, yet the command in his voice was unmistakable.
Looking at those Greater Demons, Qiu Bai immediately recognized the nature of the dark aura they emitted.
“Cloud Retainer, Mountain Shaper, Ganyu, you come too.”
Qiu Bai also looked toward the Adepti.
“Yes, Adeptus Lord.”
Though puzzled, Cloud Retainer and the others quickly dispersed.
Inside the cave abode, the gathered Adepti and demons looked at the dying Qiqi and felt pity. Even the Greater Demons did not inherently hate mortals.
They too had once had people they protected, guarding a pure land for their own subjects.
Seeing this little girl, how could they stand by and watch her die?
Especially when they saw the Vision beside Qiqi, their hearts filled with even greater reluctance.
They had come only to avenge their Demon God, their targets being the Adepti and Morax.
But what did this have to do with a mortal child so young?
“Let us cease fighting for now and save this little girl.”
Cloud Retainer looked at Qiqi, who had been gravely injured by the aftermath of their battle and now clung to the last thread of life, and spoke quietly.
The Greater Demons felt remorse, seeing Qiqi with only a breath left yet still so desperate to live.
Filled with deep regret and unable to bear it, they decided to temporarily halt the battle, determined to save this innocent life.
The Adepti and Greater Demons simultaneously channeled their power and Adeptal Energy into Qiqi’s body, pulling her back from the brink of death.
However, Qiqi was completely unable to control the Vision and the immense Adeptal Energy and power, and she immediately fell into a frenzy, attacking everything around her indiscriminately.
Qiu Bai frowned, raised his hand, and infused Yang Qi into Qiqi’s body, suppressing this frenzied power.
Qiqi then fell into a deep slumber.
“Adeptus Lord, what should we do now? This little girl cannot withstand such power; it will take at least several hundred years for her to adapt.”
Both the Adepti and the Greater Demons looked at Qiu Bai simultaneously.
Qiu Bai did not speak. With a wave of his hand, he made Qiqi float in the air and carried her out of the cave.
“Seal her within amber.”
He then flipped his hand and infused Yin-Yang Dual Qi into Qiqi’s body, sealing her into the amber and adding an additional seal.
Afterward, Qiu Bai walked toward the cliff. The group of Adepti and demons looked at each other uncertainly but still followed him.
“Let this battle between Adepti and demons end here.”
Qiu Bai stood on the cliff, his back to the crowd, and spoke calmly.
“But Adeptus Lord!”
Mountain Shaper stepped forward and shouted.
Qiu Bai’s lips twitched. Good grief, I don’t even have one percent of my power left, and they still think I’m at my peak?
Qiu Bai turned around and looked at the group of Adepti and demons.
“You so-called Greater Demons are not truly Greater Demons; you were merely corrupted in the Dark Sea, tainting your minds.”
Qiu Bai looked at the Greater Demons and continued.
“During the Archon War in Liyue, countless Demon Gods fought endlessly, their conflicts unceasing. Yet Morax, who emerged victorious, never harmed your people.”
“He even accepted your people, treating them as part of Liyue. Now, by fighting here, you have harmed mortals—these very mortals are the people you once protected.”
After saying this, Qiu Bai looked at the Greater Demons.
Yang Qi glowed in his hand as he infused it into the bodies of the Greater Demons, slowly purifying the dark energy within them.
“Were we… wrong?”
As the dark energy gradually dissipated, these so-called Greater Demons slowly returned to their original forms.
“This is good.”
Qiu Bai looked at the Greater Demons, now restored to their true forms, and spoke with relief.
They could no longer be called Greater Demons. They were creatures with single horns resembling horses, and others with wings and disc-shaped bodies…
These Greater Demons took human form and looked at Qiu Bai with deep gratitude, bowing respectfully.
“Thank you, Adeptus Lord, for purging the dark energy from us.”
Qiu Bai looked at these beings, who resembled Adepti but were not quite, and nodded slightly.
Although the story does not clearly define the distinction between Adepti and demons,
Yae Miko, that sly fox, is likely a fox spirit, which is a type of demonic immortal.
These beings before him were likely powerful demons, not Adepti.
“You may remain in this vast Liyue, or retreat to some other secluded corner of the mortal world.”
“But do not venture into the Dark Sea. Your strength is too feeble for that place, and your minds would be corrupted.”
Qiu Bai looked at these yokai and offered his advice.
Gazing upon this powerful, composed, and gentle Demon God, the yokai fell into contemplation, then gave their reply moments later.
