Chapter 68 – Qiu Bai’s Goal

Chapter 68 – Qiu Bai's Goal

Watching Shenhe slowly walk over, Cloud Retainer’s mouth twitched fiercely.

But looking at Shenhe’s expression, it didn’t seem intentional.

She knew her disciple well—she probably wasn’t that scheming, yet she had still managed to trick her own master.

“Cloud Retainer, so it was you!”

“I knew it!”

Qiu Bai glared at Cloud Retainer in front of him and the cold-faced Shenhe behind her, shouting angrily.

“So what if it was me?”

“You lying scoundrel.”

A blush appeared on Cloud Retainer’s face as she shouted at Qiu Bai with somewhat shaky confidence.

“No matter how much I lied to you, you shouldn’t have blown up my home.”

“Oh heavens, my abode, the figurines I meticulously crafted with Divine Power…”

Qiu Bai looked at Cloud Retainer, speaking with a hint of despair.

“Look at you, I am an Adeptus after all.”

“I just dropped a few rocks at the entrance of your cave. Go back and see for yourself.”

Cloud Retainer said to the somewhat distraught Qiu Bai.

“Really?”

“Really.”

“You’re not lying to me?”

“I’m not lying! This Adeptus does not deceive!”

“That’s good then.”

Qiu Bai patted his chest and let out a relieved sigh.

“And who is this?”

Then Qiu Bai turned his gaze to Shenhe beside Cloud Retainer, asking with feigned curiosity.

“Replying to the Adeptus Lord, my name is Shenhe.”

“I am Cloud Retainer’s disciple.”

Shenhe slightly bowed and performed a respectful gesture toward Qiu Bai.

“Shenhe, there’s no need to be so polite with him.”

“From now on, just call him ‘idiot.’ I allow it.”

Cloud Retainer said to Shenhe, who was earnestly paying her respects beside her.

“Understood, Master.”

“Hello, idiot.”

Shenhe’s beautiful, fairy-like face and cool expression spoke these words to Qiu Bai.

Qiu Bai, standing before Shenhe, was just about to say there was no need for formalities when her words left him speechless.

“Hahaha, this Adeptus is dying of laughter.”

“It’s been so long since I laughed this hard.”

Cloud Retainer looked at the bewildered Qiu Bai and couldn’t hold back, laughing so hard she trembled.

“Alright, alright, I’ll head back to my abode then.”

“Cloud Retainer, Shenhe, farewell.”

Qiu Bai’s mouth twitched fiercely, then he immediately rose and flew toward the direction of his abode.

“Master, you and the idiot seem quite close.”

Shenhe’s cool gaze followed Qiu Bai flying into the distance as she slowly spoke.

“Hmph, who’s close with that idiot?”

“Let’s go, Shenhe, we’re heading back.”

Cloud Retainer snorted proudly, then led Shenhe back into the abode.

Qiu Bai stood at the entrance of his abode, looked at the massive boulder before him, and directly used his Divine Power to move all the stones aside.

A pale blue seal was revealed, with incomprehensible characters written on the transparent barrier.

Then Qiu Bai walked over, gazed at the barrier seal before him, and murmured, “114514.”

The pale blue barrier instantly vanished, and Qiu Bai stepped inside, the barrier automatically closing behind him.

Qiu Bai looked at the place where he had previously slumbered, then walked forward. As he approached the rocks ahead, they seemed to turn invisible, allowing him to pass right through.

Before his eyes were various figurines crafted by Qiu Bai using Divine Power, and on the surrounding tables, there were many books along with several peculiar Talismans.

Qiu Bai gently stroked his chin and directly stored all the books and Talismans into his system’s Spatial Manipulation.

Then he stretched lazily and walked toward the entrance of the cave dwelling.

He teleported to the Plaustrite floating above Qingyun Peak, where a building stood with a small wooden table placed in front.

Qiu Bai’s gaze calmly swept over the distant, continuous mountain ranges and the breathtaking scenery of Jueyun Karst.

“It has been over a thousand years since I arrived here.”

“I truly haven’t taken the time to appreciate this world properly.”

With his hands clasped behind his back, Qiu Bai felt the gentle, cool breeze atop Qingyun Peak brush lightly against his face.

“Perhaps I should wander through this mortal realm for a while.”

His gaze shifted calmly to the mysterious island floating high in the sky.

A faint smile then appeared at the corner of his mouth.

“This world still holds far too many mysteries.”

“Let’s go and explore them.”

Afterward, Qiu Bai sat down, his eyes taking in the surrounding scenery.

Time passed bit by bit, with the sky and the sun and moon alternating continuously. Two days went by just like that.

Reflecting on his journey from crossing over until now, it seemed he hadn’t done anything particularly meaningful.

“Perhaps I should start by reviving those Yakshas first.”

“But it seems I’ll need to borrow my sister’s Authority for that.”

Qiu Bai murmured to himself, and then his figure vanished without a trace.

Wangsheng Funeral Parlor.

At this moment, Qiu Yue was patiently listening to Zhongli explain the knowledge of the Continent of Teyvat, as well as the customs, language, and writing of the nation of Liyue.

The Director, the staff, and the Funeral Parlor Assistant all seemed to be absent.

Suddenly, Qiu Bai’s figure appeared before the two of them.

“Well, old friend, you’ve arrived.”

Zhongli looked at Qiu Bai and spoke slowly.

Qiu Bai nodded to Zhongli, then turned his gaze to his sister, who was listening attentively.

“Sister, what has Morax been teaching you?”

“Just remember this one thing: always bring Mora when you go out to eat.”

Qiu Bai looked at Qiu Yue and reminded her, as he was certain Zhongli’s lessons definitely did not include this point.

Upon hearing this, Zhongli, seated in his chair, twitched the corner of his mouth and let out an awkward, light cough.

“I know, brother. Qiu Yue missed you.”

“But Mr. Zhongli indeed never mentioned that point.”

Then Qiu Yue hugged Qiu Bai, looked up at her brother with her beautiful eyes, and said with a smile.

Qiu Bai gently patted his sister’s head, then turned his gaze to Zhongli.

“Old friend, why isn’t Director Hu here?”

“Did she go out for something?”

Qiu Bai looked around the empty room, aside from the three of them, and spoke with some confusion.

“The Director went out to promote business.”

“Well, that child is quite eccentric. Who knows if she might attract the attention of the Millelith.”

Zhongli chuckled lightly as he spoke to Qiu Bai beside him.

“Brother Qiu Bai, Director Hu is really wonderful.”

“I secretly used my Authority to extend her lifespan by two hundred years.”

Qiu Yue looked at her brother happily and said.

Hearing this, Qiu Bai’s mouth twitched slightly. Yin and Yang follow their own order, and perhaps his very existence was something the Heavenly Principles could not tolerate.

However, I only need to protect those around me. Thinking this, Qiu Bai’s eyes grew somewhat resolute. Am I still not strong enough?

“Well, Director Hu is indeed a good person.”

“Adding a few more centuries wouldn’t matter.”

Qiu Bai gently patted Qiu Yue’s head and spoke softly. Even if the Heavenly Principles did not permit it, so what? As long as he grew stronger, he could do whatever he wanted.

Then, he spoke inwardly to the system,

“System, accept the mission!”

“Ding!”

“Mission: Revive the Four Yakshas!”
