Chapter 97 – Klee the Fish-Blaster

Chapter 97 – Klee the Fish-Blaster

Venti stood in place, as if reminiscing about something.

After a long while, he snapped out of it and looked at Qiu Bai before him.

“What’s wrong, Venti?”

“What are you thinking about?”

Qiu Bai looked at Venti, who had been standing still for a long time, and asked with some confusion.

“Hehe, nothing much.”

“Just recalling some past events.”

Venti looked at Qiu Bai before him and explained with a light laugh.

“Past events?”

Qiu Bai smiled slightly at the corner of his mouth.

“Qiu Bai, I’m heading to the tavern for a drink.”

“Are you coming?”

Venti looked at Qiu Bai and grinned.

“I think I’ll pass.”

“I still want to wander around Mondstadt a bit more.”

Upon hearing this, Qiu Bai smiled and declined Venti’s invitation.

“Ah? I was hoping to mooch a drink off you.”

Venti waved his hand somewhat dejectedly upon hearing this.

“Well then, I’ll be off first, Qiu Bai.”

Venti placed a hand over his chest and smiled at Qiu Bai.

“Alright, may the Anemo Archon protect you.”

Qiu Bai wore a cheeky expression as he spoke to Venti.

Venti twitched at the corner of his mouth upon hearing this, then turned around and left.

Qiu Bai watched Venti’s retreating figure, smiled, and also turned to leave.

After walking for a while, Qiu Bai heard a loud explosion up ahead.

“This is…”

Qiu Bai narrowed his eyes, then twitched the corner of his mouth.

“Isn’t that Klee?”

“What is she doing here? Bombing fish again?”

In the distance, a lively little girl was tossing bombs into the lake.

As she threw them, she said in a cute, childish voice, “I can blow them all up!”

Qiu Bai strolled toward Klee’s location.

Klee was still engrossed in bombing fish and didn’t seem to notice someone approaching.

When Qiu Bai got closer, water splashed from the explosions sprayed all over his face.

Qiu Bai twitched the corner of his mouth, channeled his Divine Power, and the water on his clothes evaporated as if by magic.

Steam rose from his clothes, and after a moment, the water disappeared completely.

“Ah!”

“Sorry, big brother.”

Only then did Klee notice that a handsome big brother was standing beside her.

“Hehe, I’m fine.”

“But what are you doing here? It’s like an explosion.”

Qiu Bai waved his hand dismissively, looked down at Klee, and smiled.

Her yellow hair framed two elf-like ears, and she carried a small red backpack on her back.

A Pyro Vision hung from it, and a fluffy toy dangled from Klee’s waist.

She looked up at Qiu Bai with wide, worried eyes.

“Phew, that’s good.”

“Klee thought she had hurt another passerby.”

Upon hearing Qiu Bai’s words, Klee let out a long sigh of relief.

If Acting Grand Master Jean found out she was bombing fish again, she’d be locked in the confinement room.

“From a universal and rational perspective.”

“This little friend, you cannot harm me.”

Qiu Bai slowly walked in front of Klee, placed his hands behind his back, and gazed calmly at the distant lake, speaking as if showing off.

“Really?!”

“Big brother is so amazing!”

Seeing Qiu Bai like this, Klee jumped up in admiration.

“Of course.”

“Little friend, have you ever heard of the Adeptus of Yin and Yang?”

Qiu Bai turned his back, a faint smile appearing at the corner of his mouth. Indeed, children were so easy to impress.

“Of course I know, of course I know! Acting Grand Master Jean told me!”

“He’s the big hero who defeated the giant monster in the sea!”

Klee’s eyes sparkled like stars as she recalled what Acting Grand Master Jean and Sister Lisa had said, speaking with admiration.

“Indeed, the one standing before you.”

“Is none other than the Adeptus of Yin and Yang, myself!”

Qiu Bai suddenly turned around, looking down at Klee with a somewhat intimidating expression.

“Wow!”

“Big brother is that Adeptus Lord?!”

Klee seemed to believe it, running over and staring at Qiu Bai with curious, wide eyes, examining him back and forth.

“That’s right, little one, I am the Adeptus of the Two Principles!”

“And my identity while walking among mortals is called Qiu Bai.”

Looking at this adorable Klee, Qiu Bai couldn’t help but pat her head, smiling as he spoke.

“I understand, Brother Qiu Bai!”

“My name is Klee!”

Klee also looked up at Qiu Bai with a smile, grinning as she spoke.

“Klee has met Brother Qiu Bai, who defeated the big monster in the sea!”

“To be able to defeat such a huge fish, Klee thinks that’s really amazing.”

Klee happily spun in place, then looked at the fish in the lake.

“Hmm… if Klee had Brother Qiu Bai’s power.”

“She wouldn’t need to make bombs to blow up the fish in the lake.”

Klee pressed a finger to her lips, whispering softly.

Hearing this, Qiu Bai twitched at the corner of his mouth. So that’s why Klee admired him so much—she thought Osial was just a bigger fish.

If Osial knew about this, who knows what he would think, hahaha.

“But why does Klee want to blow up fish?”

Qiu Bai asked curiously.

“Because fish are delicious, so it’s worth it!”

“But blowing up fish will get Klee locked up by Master Jean…”

Klee looked up at Qiu Bai with a smile, then lowered her head, looking as if she had done something wrong, murmuring softly.

Qiu Bai smiled and patted Klee’s head.

“If Klee wants to eat fish.”

“Let big brother handle it.”

Then Qiu Bai turned his gaze toward the lake. Some of the fish had been blown to pieces, while others were startled, swimming quickly away from the explosion.

“Really?!”

“Brother Qiu Bai, can you catch fish?!”

Hearing this, Klee looked up, her big, adorable eyes filled with a smile as she gazed at Qiu Bai.

Seeing Klee like this, Qiu Bai felt his heart melt.

“Hehe, of course.”

“Big brother here is the Adeptus who defeated the big monster in the sea, after all.”

Under Klee’s expectant gaze, Qiu Bai slowly walked toward the edge of the lake.

But then, Qiu Bai seemed to suddenly remember something.

“Oh damn, I forgot.”

“I don’t actually know how to fish…”

Qiu Bai twitched at the corner of his mouth. Back when he was fishing in Jueyun Karst, it took him half a day just to catch one.

Not to mention this school of fish that Klee had blown into disarray.

“But a child’s expectations.”

“I can’t let her down.”

Qiu Bai looked at the lake before him, a faint smile curling at the corner of his mouth.

“Sorry again, fish brothers.”

Qiu Bai slowly raised his hand. Ink-white Divine Power gradually gathered in his palm, then transformed into several streams of light that shot into the lake.

After a moment, fish began leaping out of the water’s surface.

Dozens of fish floated in the air as the sun of Mondstadt hung high in the sky.

The sunlight shone on the water droplets splashing from the fish breaking the surface, forming a rainbow.

Klee stared in amazement, her mouth slightly agape, watching Qiu Bai show off his skills.

With a slight movement of his palm, the fish slowly drifted toward the air above Qiu Bai’s head.

Along with them, a mass of lake water also flew over, swirling above Qiu Bai’s head.

It was like a small whirlpool, with a school of fish swirling within.

The lake water was controlled by Qiu Bai’s Divine Power, leaving Newton nodding in approval.
