Chapter 0 – Prologue

You know, I believe that a person’s imagination is truly free.

Isn’t that right? It’s no exaggeration to say that imagination is the freest thing in this world.

That’s why I tend to imagine things often. In fact, I have no choice but to. After all, for someone like me who loves to write, a lack of imagination would be a terrible thing.

Who am I, you ask?

I’m an amateur writer aspiring to become a professional. My name is Kang Yu-jin, and I’m twenty years old.

I write in my spare time while attending university and have been diligently submitting my manuscripts, but every publisher has turned them down.

Still, firmly believing that I’ll be chosen one day, I continue to write today.

“Ah, I finally finished it.”

Having finally completed ‘The Martial Supreme,’ a story he had been serializing for a long time, Kang Yu-jin couldn’t hide his smile.

He had already finished several stories, but for some reason, the moment of completion always brought him immense joy.

“No publisher contacted me in the end, but the readers’ reactions were good this time, so I’m sure a publisher will reach out for my next work.”

Kang Yu-jin muttered with a smile.

“I may have written it myself, but it’s really well done. Kang Yong-hoon… no matter how I think about it, he’s one amazing guy.”

Even though he was a character of his own creation, he thought he was just too perfect.

‘How great would it be if I could live like a protagonist like him?’

It was something he always imagined while writing—just how wonderful it would be to live a life like the protagonist of his own story.

Feeling tired after finishing the novel, Yu-jin lay on his bed, closed his eyes, and imagined himself becoming the protagonist.

And that was the last night he would spend in the modern era.
