Chapter 133: Lei Yao Wakes Up, Lei Yao Passes Out Again

Chapter 133: Lei Yao Wakes Up, Lei Yao Passes Out Again

A Dark Gold Weapon truly possessed the power to alter the course of a battlefield. The Sound of Chaos, specially chosen by Kamiyu, had an effect that allowed her to release an additional six Core Skills after each use of a Core Skill.

Moreover, it wasn’t simply a matter of multiplying the quantity by six. She could either unleash seven skills in one go or extend the duration of a single skill release to seven times its normal length.

Most importantly, it didn’t rigidly require her to go all out at once. Kamiyu could modulate it like pressing the accelerator—sometimes deep, sometimes shallow—releasing any number of skills up to seven times in a single instance.

Just moments ago, when Kamiyu saw the roof of the Main City’s watchtower being burned through by her attack, she panicked and immediately stopped, lasting less than the duration of two shots.

Yet, even that brief display caused immense destruction on the eastern battlefield, far more exaggerated than the earlier southern front.

The tenfold Phase Energy Cannon not only incinerated two-thirds of the Aberrant Beast Demons into charred remains in a fan-shaped area, turning the land into multicolored crystal, but it also completely leveled the mountain behind them.

“Damn, that’s even more insane than the Turtle School’s Kamehameha,” Kamiyu exclaimed.

The sounds of gaining Enhancement Points, Experience Points, and Heavenly Father Points echoed incessantly in her mind.

The Octahedral Crystal hanging around her neck had also collected nearly 10% of the hatred, now approaching 90% capacity. Success was almost within reach, and she could soon head to Seriga to rebuild the Main City.

Players on the eastern battlefield were all stunned by Kamiyu’s cannon blast.

“Is… is this still human power?”

“Is she even human? No, can a human Player output like this? I doubt even Lei Yao, the highest-level Player, has the ability to sweep a battlefield like this,” said the Guild Leader of a major Guild.

Other Beta Testers in distant Sanctuaries observed Kamiyu’s dazzling red-and-white particle energy beam.

One Beta Tester widened his eyes, his expression grave as he stared toward the Main City.

In another Sanctuary, where they had been monitoring the Main City’s movements, their Beast Tamer, seeing that the Aberrant Beast Demons were nearly wiped out, asked, “Lord Beta Tester, the battlefield is now in our favor. Should we make our move?”

The Beta Tester in this Sanctuary sighed gloomily. “It’s too late. We misjudged the Strategy this time. It’s not our turn to reap the battlefield now.”

“Kamier, you still claim you’re not a Beta Tester?” shouted a Player from another Guild who had long suspected her.

“You idiot, and you call yourself a Veteran Player? Have you ever seen a Beta Tester as powerful as Lady Kamier, blasting over half the Aberrant Beast Demons to dust with a single cannon shot and even turning the land into glass?” retorted another Player beside him.

Thinking about it, it made sense. If Beta Testers were this powerful, why would they have closed their Sanctuaries early and hidden inside, doing nothing?

“Then what is Lady Kamier?”

“She’s the daughter of the Heavenly Father. She inherited His power.”

“Really?”

The more powerful a person was, the more exaggerated the rumors became. It was fine to say Kamiyu was the daughter of the Heavenly Father, but then came claims of her being an alien, a time traveler, a reincarnator, or even the possessor of the Spring and Autumn Silkworm.

Kamiyu made no effort to clarify. The more rumors, the more chaotic, the better it was for her. She wanted to keep people guessing.

However, good fortune wouldn’t let Kamiyu have it all.

The Sound of Chaos was indeed powerful, but it consumed the weapon’s durability at an alarming rate. That single shot just now had burned through 100 points of durability.

And that was with less than double the output.

Kamiyu felt her heart ache at the thought, deciding that next time she wouldn’t use Magic Bullets with triple attributes—ordinary Magic Bullets would suffice. Such over-the-top output against “Trash Mobs” was simply wasteful, and afterward, she would have to specifically go Dungeon Grinding to collect materials to repair her weapon.

Level 28 and 29 Dungeon Boss-level Monsters, which others saw as unattainable Instance Dungeon bosses requiring teams of dozens or even hundreds to spend weeks conquering, were now nothing more than one-shot Trash Mobs in Kamiyu’s eyes.

After clearing out a large swath of Aberrant Beast Demons on the eastern Battlefield, Kamiyu left the remaining ones for the one or two thousand Players to grind. She used this time to urgently repair the Durability of the Sound of Chaos.

Because she had an ominous premonition. Given her luck, coupled with that Old Monster inside the Holy Light Cathedral and the fact that Lei Yao hadn’t emerged for so long, something was definitely being plotted behind the scenes.

Kamiyu thought to herself that she had nearly cleared out the Hell Tide, yet Lei Yao remained unmoved. Such abnormal behavior surely meant he was planning something.

But in truth, Kamiyu was both right and wrong.

She was right in that Priest An Dao, seeing the second wave of the Hell Army wiped out by Kamiyu, was furious and angrily criticized Lei Yao for his incompetence.

Fortunately, An Dao had secretly consumed many of Lei Yao’s offerings and was now in the deepest room of the cathedral, plotting something.

She was wrong in that Lei Yao wasn’t unmoved—he had fainted and had only just regained consciousness.

In the office of the official first Sanctuary, Lei Yao’s headquarters.

Lei Yao woke up, his face pale and bloodless. Trembling, he stood up and asked, “How long was I unconscious? What’s the current situation?”

Ye Feixuan replied, “Lord Lei Yao, not long—only half an hour.”

“What, half an hour?” Lei Yao’s eyes widened. The Battlefield situation changed in the blink of an eye; even three minutes could turn the tide, let alone thirty.

Lei Yao limped over to the windowsill.

“What… what is going on?” Lei Yao saw his Sanctuary surrounded by over a thousand High-Level Aberrant Beast Demons, with their numbers increasing every second.

“Why? Weren’t they supposed to be attacking Kaijistan?” Lei Yao tightly gripped the stone windowsill.

“Whoosh~ whoosh~” Two fireballs shot out and landed amidst the Aberrant Beasts, enraging the Monsters and causing them to attack the Sanctuary even more ferociously.

The Sanctuary showed faint signs of collapsing.

“What the hell? Who allowed the Soldiers to attack the Aberrant Beast Demons? Don’t they know attacking them will draw Aggro?” Lei Yao was so angry he spat out a mouthful of blood, even cracking the stone on the windowsill with his grip.

Aberrant Beast Demons wouldn’t actively attack the Sanctuary unless someone foolishly used Skills to provoke them, causing them to target the humans inside due to Aggro Value.

“Lord Lei Yao, there are no more of our Soldiers left. Those people are all Solo Players,” Ye Feixuan sighed.

She didn’t explicitly say that Lei Yao’s Soldier Players no longer approved of his actions and had gone Offline in protest.

“Rebellion, all of them rebelling,” Lei Yao roared in fury.

Lei Yao thought with grief and indignation, Aberrant Beast Demons had somehow surrounded his Sanctuary, his own Soldiers had betrayed him, and those ragtag mobs were seizing the chance to rack up Kill Counts and Experience.

The problem was, these were all High Level Demon Beasts above level 20. Why were these people, who hadn’t even reached level 20 themselves, desperately provoking the Demon Beasts?

Lei Yao didn’t know that these Bandits, ruffians, and scoundrels were doing it on purpose—deliberately provoking the Demon Beasts to attack the Sanctuary to cover up their actions of digging away at the Sanctuary’s foundations and stealing materials.

But nothing under heaven can stay completely hidden. From the windowsill, Lei Yao caught sight of a lone individual casting a Skill toward his Sanctuary and immediately understood what this group was up to.

“You’ve gone too far, you bunch of thieves!” Overwhelmed by rage, Lei Yao spewed a mouthful of blood before collapsing and fainting once again.
