Chapter 171: Major Demerit
Chapter 171: Major Demerit
Let us rewind to shortly before Kamiyu answered the phone.
“Take this! And this!”
Bang! Crash! Thud! The intense sonic booms of fists and feet clashing filled the air.
Jack had abandoned his sharp Doombringer. Using his fists as swords and his feet as blades, he engaged in a furious exchange with Brother Hu, who was as massive as a small hill.
Watching Jack and Bald Tiger engage in a brawl even more intense than those in Crows Zero, a true hooligan-style fight, Kamiyu was utterly stunned.
Thump! Thump! The sound of fists meeting flesh reverberated. Each impact shattered the windows of surrounding buildings, each blow kicked up dust that stung the eyes, and every clash of limbs sent shockwaves that stirred Kamiyu’s very soul.
“A true man should be like this,” Kamiyu affirmed in her heart with great certainty.
From a distance, perched on tree branches, the high-tier Ability Users observing the battle all wore expressions of disdain.
“That Player is done for. After the Blood Sacrifice, Brother Hu’s power increased tenfold. He’s a Strength-type Ability User to begin with. In his normal state, he could punch through a main battle Tank. Now, after the sacrifice, one punch is enough to pulverize an entire granite mountain,” one Ability User analyzed seriously.
“Exactly. That Black Armor Warrior is just at the end of his rope, Burning his life force. I bet he can’t last another minute.”
“A minute? You’re underestimating Tiger too much. Thirty seconds is plenty. If thirty seconds isn’t enough to grind that Black Armor Warrior into bloody pulp, I’d be surprised,” a Third-Tier Ability User said scornfully.
“Look, that Pink Hair next to the Black Armor Warrior is scared out of her wits. She’s frozen, doesn’t even dare move. It’s two against one, and she doesn’t even know to support her teammate.”
“Right. Trash is just trash,” said an Ability User with the character “three” carved on his forehead, folding his arms and speaking with contempt.
Meanwhile, the Players watching the “Black Sphere Live Stream” from the apartment building, seeing Jack being overpowered by Bald Tiger in this one-sided battle, all wore worried expressions.
“Black Armor Warrior, don’t fall!”
“Hang in there, Black Armor Warrior!”
“Will the miracle really just vanish like this?”
“Ugh, what’s wrong with that woman? Why is she just standing there stupidly? Go help!” Pang Mi, the Student Council Hat Guy, shouted loudly.
“Hurry! Xiao Zhong, I order you to find a way to contact her, remind her to Attack!” Pang Mi slammed a hand down on Xiao Zhong’s shoulder.
“Ouch!”
“Yeah! Even if they can’t win right now, provide them an escape route. Have them Assemble here at our apartment. There’s strength in numbers, and we can wait here rested to fight a weary enemy. We have the terrain advantage. Together, we can take down this Ability User Monster,” someone nearby analyzed earnestly.
“That makes sense. They’re in the Lower East Side, over twenty or thirty kilometers from us. Quickly plan a route for them!” A delivery guy immediately took out his phone to map a route.
Pang Mi snatched the phone from the man’s hand and threw it aside, roaring, “Lead him here? Trying to get us all killed? That Monster is so strong, who can beat him? Use your tiny brains and think!”
The delivery guy immediately wanted to fight back, but others held him down. The person who first suggested providing a route shook his head at the delivery guy, signaling him to endure it.
The others heard this but dared not voice their anger. This Pang Mi had drawn a good Talent and class; no one could beat him. Now wasn’t the time for internal conflict, so they swallowed their resentment.
However, in the actual battle at hand, things were not as they had seen or imagined—Jack was not at a disadvantage.
Jack’s 【Black Mist Hook-Chain】 claws and 【Black-Scaled Snake Armor】 cuirass worked together seamlessly. One was responsible for lifesteal and applying a debuff that made Bald Tiger prone to bleeding, putting him in a continuous bleed state, while the other gained 15 times the defense power as soon as it came into contact with blood.
Even if he stood still and let Bald Tiger hit him, he could exhaust Tiger to death or bleed him dry.
Jack was just playing around, clashing head-on with his opponent to see if he was truly as tough as he seemed.
“Huh? Can’t win anymore?” “Come on, keep going.” “Don’t even think about fleeing—Taunting Battle Roar.”
Bald Tiger was utterly speechless. He had long realized that his attacks were ineffective against Jack, and even after using the Blood Sacrifice Ritual, they remained useless.
Before using the Blood Sacrifice, hitting Jack felt like striking a rock. After using the Blood Sacrifice, hitting Jack felt like striking a solid, monolithic Mount Everest made of diamond.
“Is this even something that can be destroyed?” Bald Tiger was so terrified he turned into Tiger Junior.
The junior among juniors.
“Why, why is it that even though we’re both Players, this person is so powerful? No matter how hard I bite, I can’t make a dent.” Tiger despaired.
He wanted to escape.
But Jack wouldn’t let him succeed. Whenever Bald Tiger Junior tried to flee, Jack would use “Taunting Battle Roar” to pull him back.
There was no escape.
Jump into the air?
As soon as the active skill affix for 【Black Mist Hook-Chain】 activated, five hook-chains shot into the sky and dragged him back down.
“Bro, just let me go.”
Jack didn’t waste words on him and kept fighting, indicating that he was just warming up.
“Great job, Jack, that’s exactly how you should fight.” Kamiyu had already started thinking about what Jack’s next-stage weapon should be designed like—it could be combined with her Magic Bullets, which would make things even more fun.
Just as she was pondering the affixes for the weapon further, her phone ringtone interrupted her train of thought.
“Who is it? Isn’t this outside the service area?” Kamiyu took out her phone and saw that the caller ID was a string of zeros. She wondered for a moment if it might be a skilled hacker calling her.
“Hello.” Kamiyu pressed the answer button.
The Student Council hat-wearing guy, Pang Mi, snatched Xiao Zhong’s phone and angrily yelled at Kamiyu, “I order you to attack immediately.”
“Who the hell are you, daring to order me around?” Kamiyu wasn’t exactly known for her good temper. Even Li Changde treated her politely. She had cursed at Mephisto to the east, stood up to Inarius to the west, kicked Lei Yao to the south, and fought An Dao to the north—who was she afraid of?
“I am Mi Xianshan, the Student Council President of Longming Technical College. In the name of the Student Council, I order you to attack the enemy before you immediately.” Pang Mi spoke in a serious, formal tone.
“Hey, if I attack just because you tell me to, wouldn’t that make me look cheap? I’m just not going to attack, what can you do about it?” Kamiyu said, tilting her head up.
“You want to test me? Which unit are you from? Do you believe I’ll record your actions in your file?”
“Dan An, is that some kind of bird egg? Is it edible?” Kamiyu could tell the person on the other end wasn’t quite right in the head, so she decided not to take things seriously either.
“How dare you! It’s ‘dàng àn’—file! Have you ever studied pinyin? Files are sacred and dignified, not something to joke about. I warn you once again, attack the enemy immediately.” Pang Mi spoke with anger in his voice.
“I’m just not going to attack, so what?” Kamiyu was genuinely amused by this person.
“I hereby issue you a severe warning. If you still refuse to attack, I will escalate the punishment to a major demerit, require you to write a 1,000-word self-criticism, and have you publicly criticized throughout the entire Longming Technical College,” Pang Mi declared with solemn gravity.
“I can’t take this anymore,” the delivery guy retorted, throwing a punch and pinning the fat guy to the ground, beating him up.
The other Players couldn’t stand Pang Mi either—this guy who stepped up as the Players’ representative and Leader Bro when nothing was happening, snatched the Black Sphere equipment Xiao Zhong had farmed, hid behind the Players when the Ability Users attacked, and claimed to be the Players’ steadfast support.
“Brothers, beat him up.”
“Alright~”
