Chapter 205: Torment Tier, Reckless Fools
Chapter 205: Torment Tier, Reckless Fools
The Hummer drove toward the stadium within two kilometers. After a life-or-death battle, the three new players in the vehicle each carried a different aura.
Although Chu Feng remained as flamboyant as ever, his movements had grown somewhat steadier.
Dunzi was no longer as insecure as before. Having proven his strength and his ability to protect his teammates behind him, he had become more confident.
As for Ji Yue, she maintained her calm composure, unshaken by the brutal scenes of slaughter. When she disassembled the Ability User corpses earlier, she didn’t even blink, earning Dunzi’s admiration—and he had helped slaughter pigs during the New Year.
Observing the three of them in the rearview mirror, Kamiyu felt a sense of gratification, like a teacher watching her students improve.
Their growth in strength meant they could be of help to her, which was the key to long-term coexistence and “playing together.”
News came from the Black Sphere Room.
Xiao Zhong reported, “Miss Kamiyu, those 17 Ability Users are still gathered inside the stadium, farming Aberrant Beast Demons. They’re within the range of our artillery. Should we strike first?”
Kamiyu placed her Bluetooth earpiece and said, “Don’t act on your own yet. Wait for my command.”
“However, your 25 cannons on the 15th floor can focus their firing arcs on a single point,” Kamiyu added.
“A single point? How large is that?” Xiao Zhong asked.
“About a circle with a 10-meter diameter. Given everyone’s current skill level, this shouldn’t be too difficult,” Kamiyu instructed.
Upon hearing this, Jack blinked. Having learned so much about Kamiyu’s twisted sense of humor, he immediately understood what she was planning. In the upcoming battle, he would bear the brunt of the fighting.
Kamiyu turned around to outline the tactics: “Later, we’ll handle the backline. Jack, you take the frontline.”
Chu Feng was the first to voice concern: “Big Brother Jack is certainly formidable, but we’re facing 17 enemies. One against seventeen—won’t the pressure be too much for him?”
Dunzi also chimed in: “There’s an old saying: divide and conquer. Shouldn’t we split up to share some of Big Brother Jack’s burden?”
Before Kamiyu could explain, Jack coughed lightly. “I don’t mind.”
Seeing Jack’s flexing demeanor, Kamiyu couldn’t help but laugh again. She waved her hand dismissively. “It’s not 17 enemies; it’s 17 pieces of trash. On the Crimson Earth, Jack faced armies of thousands without a hint of fear.”
Kamiyu was referring to the time during the Hell Tide when he fought his way alone from Lei Yao’s Cliff Sanctuary, exerting every ounce of strength to reunite with her on the main battlefield.
She still vividly remembered Jack’s majestic and imposing figure—drenched in blood, utterly fearless. Injuries? Armor damage? Jack truly didn’t care at all.
Seizing the moment, Mephisto let out another eerie cry: “Hehehehe, hahahaha, it’s time to feast again soon. I smell a very fragrant Hatred Power. It seems they’ve summoned quite the formidable Demon.”
“Miss Jia, what’s going on? We keep hearing someone speaking in the air.”
“That’s not a person; it’s a dog,” Kamiyu said, referring to Mephisto’s manifestation—a Skull Blood Wolf the size of a small hill.
“Hey now, I’m your grandfather after all. You should learn to respect your elders.” Mephisto’s face flushed red within the Dark Gold Sword.
“Yes, old geezer, right away, old geezer,” Kamiyu said.
Jack warned, “He’s the original owner of the Dark Gold Sword I just used. You must never listen to him, absolutely don’t believe him, understand?”
The three in the back seat blinked, their hearts tightening as they realized—so the one speaking was the “sword spirit.”
But the “sword spirit” was Miss Jia’s grandfather?
Brother Jack also said not to believe the “sword spirit’s” words.
They were utterly confused.
“Hey, hurry up and tell us, what did they summon that’s got you wagging your tail in excitement?” Kamiyu teased.
“I’m not wagging my tail!” Mephisto roared.
“Then explain quickly.”
“You’re lucky, they’re not. Because this Magic Crystal mine belongs to a flat, open Instance Dungeon. In your players’ terms, this special dungeon allows difficulty adjustments, letting you choose the tier of Aberrant Beast Demons to challenge.”
“This follows the same rules as the Greater Rift that Inarius promised you with Seriga.”
“These overconfident fools actually chose to challenge a Torment Tier Aberrant Beast Demon wave. They truly have no regard for their lives.”
Kamiyu blinked. “No way, Torment Tier? Isn’t that for players level 41 to 50 to farm?”
No one had challenged Torment Tier yet. Previously, when Lei Yao reached level 30, he only dared to farm the corresponding Penitent Tier for players level 31 to 40.
“That’s why I said they have no regard for their lives. I can already smell the scent of torn flesh and blood—fragrant, so fragrant,” Mephisto said.
“Torment Tier? Level 41 to 50? Can… can we even fight that?” Chu Feng, who had just been eager to show off, immediately shrank back.
“We’re only level 12 right now. There’s no way we can fight this.”
Dunzi flushed red again and fell silent.
Ji Yue nervously wiped sweat from her forehead.
At that moment, a message from the Black Sphere Room came through the car’s radio.
“Miss Kamiyu, it’s terrible! The Stadium has undergone a sudden mutation. Many high-level Aberrant Beast Demons have appeared, and Ability Users are in a chaotic battle with them.”
“One Ability User was torn in half by a tall, iron-headed Red Giant Demon.”
“Another Ability User was crushed flat by the iron-headed Red Giant Demon.” Xiao Zhong spoke urgently, reporting the latest developments on the battlefield.
The three in the back seat of the Humvee showed expressions of disbelief.
“No way… Ability Users have fourth-tier strength. If they’re being instantly killed, that means this iron-headed Red Giant Demon possesses strength equal to Miss Kamiyu’s.”
“Red Giant… is it Ultraman? Will it shoot beams? If I face off against it, I definitely shouldn’t stand on the left side,” Chu Feng said.
“Hey, Chu Feng, that’s not funny,” Ji Yue complained.
Kamiyu laughed. “Makes sense. If the Red Giant can shoot beams, I shouldn’t stand on the left either when I face off against it later.”
“Miss Kamiyu, aren’t you afraid?”
“Why should I be afraid? It’s only Torment Tier. Right, Jack?” Kamiyu glanced at Jack.
“Any level is fine. I don’t care,” Jack said, still flexing.
“Heh heh heh heh, ha ha ha ha!” Mephisto cackled wildly.
Mephisto thought to himself, how could the two of them be afraid? On the contrary, they enjoyed such scenarios even more. Only powerful enemies could bring out their true strength.
Over at the Stadium, another Ability User died, leaving only fourteen Ability Users remaining.
“Brother Baojun, we can’t hold on any longer. Let’s escape quickly.”
“Escape? How can we escape? This Instance Dungeon is locked. We can’t get out without clearing it.” Brother Baojun deeply regretted his impulsive decision to set the difficulty to the highest level.
