Chapter 21: Steel Great Wall
Chapter 21: Steel Great Wall
The sound of an anti-materiel sniper cannon is incredibly loud. Firing a shot during the curfew hours of the night, Kamiyu didn’t believe no one would notice.
In the neighborhoods over ten kilometers away, Xu Liwen and the others definitely couldn’t hear where the gunshot came from, or even determine where Kamiyu had fired from.
So she believed that whoever would come to attack her would be the remaining Players.
Therefore, she decided to act boldly—stay put and wait for the opponent to come to her. She even deliberately exposed a vulnerability by going to bed.
If she hadn’t unlocked the Magic Bullet, she naturally wouldn’t dare to do this. But now she possessed the skill version of the 【Delayed Implosion Bullet】, usable with all firearms—meaning even her small pistol could fire it.
So she no longer needed to maintain a Sniper Camp. She was preparing for Close-Range combat.
Why? Everyone knew her strength was the sniper rifle, so of course they wouldn’t be foolish enough to give her that kind of combat environment.
This round of the Black Sphere Game wasn’t some play-fighting among minions, nor was it a case of amateurs clashing.
Just Mohawk alone could dominate the battlefield, nearly cleaving the previous game’s winner and Xu Liwen—who had official resource support—in half.
Back inside the hotel.
Kamiyu was setting up an empty fort strategy.
The “whirring—whirring—” sound of helicopter rotor blades grew louder and louder.
Kamiyu cursed inwardly: “So damn noisy. How am I supposed to hear the enemy’s footsteps?”
“What idiot keeps flying around in the middle of the night without sleeping?”
Inside the helicopter, a burly man over two meters tall, wearing a short T-shirt, casually removed his headphones and seatbelt and uttered lightly: “Activate skill 【Golden Body】 (Invincible for 5 seconds).”
A helicopter flew straight toward the room where Kamiyu was staying.
With a “BOOM.”
The glass curtain wall on the top floor of the five-star hotel was shattered by the high-speed impact of the helicopter. Glass fragments were completely blown apart, raining down along with debris and aircraft parts.
The ultra-high-speed rotating rotor blades, like blades harvesting grain, relentlessly destroyed everything inside Kamiyu’s room.
Her room was instantly torn to pieces. Fire alarm sirens blared everywhere, and automatic sprinklers, detecting the fire, activated immediately, spraying water into the room.
An ambulance driving on the road came to a stop.
“Damn, what the hell is going on up ahead? Playing this big? Actually using a plane to crash into a building—straight-up making major headlines. This will definitely make international news.” Brother Dong’s eyes widened.
“That’s the hotel where the Pink Hair’s coordinates are. Jack’s coordinates overlap with Pink Hair’s.” Brother Chills exclaimed loudly.
“This is great—they’re fighting each other.” Baldy, seeing the explosion’s flames ahead in the tall building, couldn’t help but beam with joy.
Two experts fighting each other—ultimately, the ones who could reap the benefits would be them.
Zhong Hao shared the same thought. He had worried too much earlier; this danger wasn’t aimed at him but at that Pink Hair.
Unable to suppress his excitement, Zhong Hao laughed: “Keep driving, hurry up and get over there. With the hotel explosion ahead, we have even more reason to drive to the hotel without avoiding checkpoints on the road.”
“Haha, got it.” Brother Dong floored the accelerator, speeding forward with full power. He even fearlessly turned on the ambulance’s siren, as if afraid no one would notice.
At the same time, Kamiyu, wrapped in a bedsheet, quickly rolled off the bed.
Her mind was dazed by the sudden explosion, and now she felt deafened, ears ringing, the world spinning so much she couldn’t even stand steady.
She didn’t know how long it had been, yet it felt like only a few seconds had passed.
Lying on the ground, Kamiyu hazily saw a naked, muscular man jump down from the wreckage of the crashed helicopter.
“Who is this?” She couldn’t see the whole figure, only his calves thicker than small tree trunks and his heavily veined, sturdy thighs.
“Whoever this person is, coming here like this means he’s a Player here to take my life.”
Kamiyu thought to herself, and only a crazy Player would dare to do something as insane as sitting inside a helicopter and crashing it into a building.
The shockwave from the explosion left her unable to stand now; she could only crawl with all her might toward the door, trying to escape the thick, burning smoke.
Behind her, the man was unhurriedly, step by step, advancing toward Kamiyu. This burly man seemed to be savoring the pleasure before victory.
“I saw you kill three Players within five seconds. I thought you were something, but it turns out you’re this weak,” Jack said in a deep voice.
Kamiyu flipped over, her hands constantly pushing backward, trying to quickly flee this dangerous scene.
Hearing the voice, she opened her blood-reddened eyes wide. A gash had been torn open on her forehead by debris, and blood flowed down into her eyes.
Kamiyu inwardly cursed her bad luck. She had thought the ambusher was someone like Zhong Hao, but it turned out to be the Player she least wanted to encounter—Jack, who possessed absolute Defense Power.
Mohawk had only used Mimicry and his class Skills to create an illusion of immortality, but Kamiyu had still managed to figure out the 30-second cycle loophole. Moreover, shooting at Mohawk could still trigger his “stagger” state.
But Jack was different. Back in the Black Sphere Room, Kamiyu had already noticed his Talent and class Skills.
His Talent was 【Steel Great Wall】, and his class was 【Barbarian Warrior】. One of the effects of the Steel Great Wall Talent was to increase his own Defense Power without Cooldown Time.
Additionally, one of the Barbarian Warrior’s Skills, 【Attack-Defense Conversion】, allowed him to convert Attack Power into Defense Power on a one-to-one basis.
Just these two combined, in gaming terms, made him a heavy-armored knight, a shield warrior—a Tank.
Kamiyu thought to herself, the reason he dared to crash the helicopter into the building just now and emerged completely unscathed was because he had used 【Golden Body】, a Skill that granted Invincibility for five seconds.
This Skill was true immortality, a “real man” Skill for five seconds, capable of turning the tide in a Team Fight for a Comeback Win.
Troublesome, extremely troublesome.
Why are there so many Monsters in this round of the game?
【Future Perception】, 【Mimicry】, 【Enhancement】, 【Sacrifice】, and the permanently active, no-Cooldown 【Steel Great Wall】—almost all these Talents and Skills were configurations only the Protagonists in other novels would have.
In other novels, they’d be the standard Protagonist setup.
And these people weren’t fools either, not just some random lackeys.
Kamiyu was almost speechless inside.
Facing Jack’s provocation, Kamiyu directly pulled out a Pistol from the void.
“Bang, bang, bang, bang.”
“Clang, clang, clang, clang.”
The Bullets were all deflected.
“No way.” Kamiyu widened her eyes. Jack was still in his naked state, using his pectoral muscles to block the bullet.
Was the permanent Talent 【Steel Great Wall】 this incredible?
“Bang.”
Headshot.
Jack’s head tilted back slightly, then he lowered it again to look at Kamiyu.
Kamiyu gasped in shock, taking in a sharp breath.
“Don’t tell me you’re really surnamed Vanma?”
Jack clenched the bullet tip between his teeth.
Was this something a human could actually do?
