Chapter 258: Heartening
Chapter 258: Heartening
“Still trying to impose rules on me? Let me tell you, my dictionary doesn’t have words like ‘first come, first served’ or ‘courtesy and deference.’
I believe in strength above all—the strong plunder everything. Don’t think just because you’re wearing armor and riding horses, you look impressive. In reality, you’re nothing but trash.
And all of you watching from the sidelines—you’re all garbage too.” Wu Qi jumped onto the podium of the stadium and spouted arrogant nonsense.
Arrogant, utterly arrogant, completely disregarding everyone present.
Seeing Wu Qi standing majestically on the podium, roaring with authority, his lackeys below cheered and applauded loudly. “Boss is awesome!” “Boss is mighty!” “Boss will definitely lead us to clear the dungeon, kill the Dungeon Boss Fear Emperor, and claim the final reward!”
Hearing his subordinates’ flattery, Wu Qi seemed immensely pleased, utterly intoxicated by their praise.
Upon hearing Wu Qi’s arrogant remarks, the other Player teams in Wuwu County reacted with varied expressions. Some showed defiance and unwillingness to accept it, while others wore expressions of sorrow and resignation.
Some agreed with Wu Qi’s statement—that the strong reign supreme, and the Weakling deserve to have everything plundered.
Others were unconvinced, thinking: What if someone even stronger comes to challenge Wu Qi? Let’s see if you can still say that then.
There were also those who believed that even in this Age of Dharma Decline, rules should still exist. The Weakling should not be plundered; instead, they should strive tirelessly, never giving up or abandoning hope, waiting for their chance to rise.
Not everyone who gains Supernatural Ability can maintain their original intentions.
Finally, Jack spoke, his tone dripping with disdain. “The strong plunder everything? Kamiyu is strong, but she doesn’t plunder everything. Instead, she gives hope to the Weakling, leading everyone through crises time and again.
How dare a piece of trash like you say such words? I think you’d be more suited to be an Ability User for Fear Emperor. He’d love a Pervert and coward like you.”
Upon hearing Jack’s words, whether it was the members of the Invincible Frontline Team or the Newcomer Players of the Student Legion, they all agreed wholeheartedly.
On the Crimson Earth, Kamiyu didn’t hide away like other Beta Testers, letting Main City Kaijistan be invaded. Instead, she took the lead, standing with everyone to defend the city, repelling wave after wave of Aberrant Beast Demons, and even defeating the greatest enemy, Lei Yao, giving everyone hope.
In the Real World, Kamiyu came to the Bunker, rescued everyone, built the Sanctuary, constructed Magic Cannon positions, and miraculously annihilated a 300,000-strong Ability User Army. She even killed the fifth-tier Hungry Ghost Shara and severely wounded Fear Emperor.
She seized the precious Fruit Core, which can be enhanced, giving everyone the chance to become Dual Class, Dual Talent Warriors. Even if it’s temporary, they can be superhumans for ten minutes and enjoy a thrilling wave.
Most importantly, what they admired most about Kamiyu was that she never forced anyone. If you wanted to stay and play, you could; if you wanted to leave, she wouldn’t stop you, much less take away or plunder everything from the Weakling.
She, on the other hand, strengthens and empowers the weak, continuously raising everyone’s standards. Now, everyone possesses Ancestral Legendary Weapons, Legendary Armor, countless Potions, and even Magic Cannons. Those lucky enough to win the lottery can even operate a Triple-Barreled Magic Main Cannon. Who in their right mind would think of opposing or rebelling against Kamiyu? They wouldn’t spare such people for a moment.
Jack’s words ignited feelings of gratitude and loyalty toward Kamiyu among everyone, filling them with intense fighting spirit. They shouted in unison, as if unable to hold back, like Kamiyu’s fanatical followers, eager to charge forward and cut down these Rogues.
Returning to the scene, he looked at Wu Qi as if he were a clown.
Seeing that the situation was turning unfavorable, Wu Qi raised the weapon in his hand and declared loudly, “No one can change this, not even if your Gang Boss, Kami or whatever her name is, comes here. This is my territory, Wu Qi’s turf. If you know what’s good for you, get lost now. I’m a Level 13 Player, the strongest in Wuwu County. See this broadsword? It’s an Ancestral Legendary Weapon. I can one-shot a Dungeon Boss. Believe me, I could take you down with a single strike.”
As soon as he finished speaking, his lackeys raised their weapons and chimed in: “The boss is awesome!” “See that? Get lost while you still can. Don’t say we didn’t give you a chance.” “Our weapons are also Ancestral Legendary Weapons. Don’t think you’re outnumbered—we have about the same number of people. We’re not afraid of a brawl.”
On Jack’s side, however, everyone remained calm. Some were even trembling—though it was the kind of trembling from barely holding back laughter.
Seeing some of them tremble, the observing Players from Wuwu County didn’t have high hopes for Jack’s group. “The gap in Weapon Levels is too big. With Wu Qi wielding a weapon second only to Dark Gold Tier, this will be a tough fight.” “Exactly. Since the New Era began, Wu Qi has leveled up the fastest. He’s already the strongest Player in Wuwu County. Even Players from the neighboring populous Pingdu City don’t dare underestimate him.”
They were unaware that with the fusion of these two Worlds, the Crimson Earth World had Veteran Players—Beta Players from the Closed Beta—thousands of high-Level, experienced Players. Not to mention them, under Kamiyu’s leadership, the average Level of the Student Legion Players, who were also Newbies, had already risen to Level 20. Their experience in Mob Grinding and battle formations was gradually accumulating. Compared to scattered Player teams developing independently, the Student Legion was more united and formidable.
Returning to the scene, hearing their claim of one-shotting Demon Bosses, Jack cautiously glanced at the Aberrant Beast Demon corpses inside the Stadium. He hadn’t paid attention before, but now he was startled to realize that Wu Qi and his group had been grinding Hard-difficulty Monsters of Levels 11–20.
Jack thought to himself, even a Newbie with an Ancestral Legendary Weapon could clear an Elite Dungeon of Levels 21–30 without taking damage. Yet, they were using Ancestral Legendary Weapons to grind Hard-difficulty content? How cowardly. And they still had the nerve to act so arrogantly and provocative. It seemed like another case of someone all bark and no bite.
Telling him to stop being a Player and become Fear Emperor’s lackey wasn’t wrong at all.
Jack dismounted from his Armored War Horse and said, “It’s time to act. We can’t waste any more time.”
“Big Brother Jack, I can handle these dirty and tiring tasks.” Chu Feng gently nudged his war horse forward and said.
“I can manage alone. You all prepare to clean up the battlefield.” Jack waved his hand dismissively.
“Understood.” The others scattered, ready to rush into the battlefield and gather the spoils of war as quickly as possible.
“Take action? Just you alone? You alone against 70 of us?” Wu Qi questioned skeptically.
“Enough talk. If you have the guts, come out and face death. I’m in a hurry.” Jack swung the Endless Fury Gauntlets through the air once. He intended to burn Wu Qi to death using just the stored fire attribute damage from this single punch.
