Chapter 29: Worldline Convergence?
Chapter 29: Worldline Convergence?
Jack’s 【Thorns Reflection】 connected Kamiyu and himself as one entity. In this state, killing enemies caused the Black Sphere Game system to mistakenly recognize the two as a single person, a single target.
This exploited a Bug in the Black Sphere Game system.
Jack deliberately targeted the ambulance as a cushion, intending to use the fall combined with the Thorns Reflection skill to eliminate the enemies inside the ambulance.
By sheer coincidence, Kamiyu freeloaded 2 Enhancement Points. With a desperate gamble, she used all 3 of her Enhancement Points to unlock the Magic Bullet branch—【Curving Bullet】.
To her delight, she also learned that different branches of Magic Bullets could be stacked for use, with the cost being proportional to the number of bullets stacked.
Her Magic Bullet count was now down to 65. To replenish them, she would need to enter an Instance Dungeon to mine Magic Crystal Ore.
With 5 enemies remaining, her feelings were mixed—both hopeful and wary. She couldn’t afford to let her guard down.
The reason Jack knew the ambulance contained other Players rather than regular medical personnel was because he had hijacked a special forces helicopter equipped with a radio. He had been eavesdropping on the special forces’ communications channel all along.
Thus, Jack was the first to learn that other Players had hijacked the ambulance.
This round was a high-stakes game. No matter how powerful your Talents or Skills, a single moment of carelessness could lead to death—and an unexplained one at that.
From Kamiyu’s earlier ambush to Jack’s blatant leap from the building now, both had caught other Players off guard.
At this moment.
Kamiyu broke free from Jack’s grasp, rolled, and jumped off the wrecked ambulance.
She quickly assessed the situation.
Both front doors were already open, with no one in the driver’s or passenger’s seat. Pistol in hand, she carefully inspected the interior.
“Cough, cough.” She saw a person in a down jacket, their lower body completely crushed, mouth continuously spitting blood, hands reaching forward as they groaned in agony.
Kamiyu recognized this blood-covered, glass-shard-embedded face—this person had appeared in the Black Sphere Room.
He was a Player. Kamiyu remembered his Skill was positioning. She had marked him as a priority target on her kill list, never expecting him to be severely injured now.
Without hesitation, Kamiyu fired Common Bullets at his head.
“Bang, bang.” Two shots.
One was a Headshot, the other a follow-up.
The down-jacketed man, Brother Chills, was dead beyond doubt.
Immediately, Kamiyu’s Player Panel updated.
【Players Remaining: 5/12】
【Time Remaining: 52:58:23】
Less than 40 minutes had passed, yet under the intense pressure of life and death, it felt like a full day and night to Kamiyu.
【Enemy eliminated. Gained 1 Enhancement Point.】
Kamiyu gained another Enhancement Point, once again securing a lifeline.
She checked the ambulance for any other injured individuals, ready to finish them off with two shots—a win-win: ending the Players’ suffering while boosting her own strength.
Kamiyu carefully inspected the interior, fighting back nausea, and confirmed there were no survivors—only two bodies barely recognizable as human.
These two shattered players must be the ones she and Jack killed when they fell onto the car roof earlier.
Wait a moment.
Kamiyu noticed the blood on the driver’s seat and recalled that both doors of the front vehicle were left open. Where had the driver and the passenger gone?
Just as she followed the trail of blood with her eyes, she sensed movement behind her.
Jack regained consciousness. He performed a backflip and landed on the ground.
Jack rotated his neck left and right, then shook his entire body, causing the glass shards and debris embedded in him to fall off.
Fragments and debris scattered across the ground, and blood immediately began to flow from Jack’s wounds.
His Steel Fortress Talent provided weak defense at close range but strong defense at long range. The injuries he now bore were inflicted after his Thorns Reflection skill failed.
“No way, you’re even more extreme than that Mohawk guy,” Kamiyu remarked, looking at him.
Jack chuckled, his voice resonating, “Seeing you so lively proves my skill was effective.”
Kamiyu couldn’t bring herself to laugh this time. She raised her gun and said, “Though I’m grateful you saved my life again…
This is a Deathmatch Game where only one person can survive. I will kill you.”
Jack let out a wild laugh. “I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
“I saved you so I could face you in a one-on-one Life-or-Death Duel,” Jack declared, spreading his arms wide in a predatory stance.
Kamiyu noticed his entire body trembling with muscle tension and felt a sense of bewilderment. This world truly had no limits—all sorts of strange people existed.
She was somewhat repulsed by this exhibitionist masochist before her. Her Magic Bullets were extremely precious, and besides him, there were still three enemies she hadn’t located.
Engaging Jack would consume a great deal of ammunition, and she really didn’t want to confront an opponent who neither feared death nor possessed such formidable defense.
This type of opponent would relentlessly close in, and unfortunately, she wasn’t a melee-oriented player.
Meanwhile, two individuals bleeding profusely and limping hid in the bushes at the street corner.
Brother Dong took out a tissue and pressed it against his forehead, panting heavily. “That was really close just now. If you hadn’t shouted quickly, Brother Zhong, I would’ve died in the car.
Who would’ve thought that Jack and Pink Hair would be so insane as to jump from the building?
And just as you said, Pink Hair really kills without batting an eye.”
Zhong Hao’s face was pale. He felt one of his legs was broken, his back was in excruciating pain, and his head was still spinning.
Zhong Hao sighed inwardly, “So this is what the passive skill was warning me about. Thankfully, we escaped quickly, or we really would’ve died in that car.”
Peering through the bushes at Jack and Kamiyu beside the car, he thought with relief, “Fortunately, the two strongest enemies are currently confronting each other. If they came looking for us, I truly wouldn’t know where to hide.”
“Brother Zhong, what should we do now?” Brother Dong asked.
Zhong Hao glanced sideways at Brother Dong. If not for his Future Prediction ability, this Brother Dong would have already killed him.
The current game situation was as follows: the strongest players were Jack and Pink Hair, followed by Zhong Hao, Brother Dong, and the hidden Zhang Wei—only five remained.
And there was still the ambiguously positioned official special troops.
Zhong Hao had to prove his worth; otherwise, he would either be killed by those around him or by Jack or that Pink Hair.
He couldn’t understand it—despite possessing the ability of Future Prediction, holding what could be called the strongest, unbeatable hand, and even recruiting and gathering five people with great effort, they were instantly scattered and crippled, leaving only two survivors.
This indicated that he had been too arrogant, overlooking the fact that the most crucial element in this game was actually Kamiyu.
Or perhaps, the World line was bound to converge.
The total annihilation future Zhong Hao himself had foreseen would inevitably come to pass.
Additionally, it was worth mentioning that the first World line outcome he saw was not Kamiyu emerging victorious, but Zhang Wei.
