Chapter 39: Harvest

Chapter 39: Harvest

The damage reflect loop trap designed by Kamiyu, betting on a desperate 30 seconds—if Bai Zhan’s Razor Armor wasn’t destroyed within those 30 seconds, then Jack would die.

What followed would be a complete annihilation ending.

Fortunately, Kamiyu was blessed by the halo of luck. In the very last second, she exhausted the Durability of the Razor Armor, reducing Bai Zhan’s Defense Power to that of an ordinary person.

So what was she waiting for? Against everyone’s expectations, Kamiyu gave Bai Zhan a “bang” and shot him in the head.

The so-called legendary 【Player Killer】 was instantly killed by Kamiyu, a newcomer to the game, in the selection match for Beta Testers.

【Panel Alert: Congratulations, Player Kamiyu, on your first kill of a High-Tier Player. Please be sure to recycle the High-Tier Player’s Dropped Items】

【Panel Alert: One Player killed. Obtained 1 Enhancement Point】

Kamiyu was overjoyed in her heart. So killing Veteran Players was different from killing new Players—there were Item drops, commonly known as “dropping gear.”

No wonder there were no reminders before. It turned out that in this round of the game, aside from herself, the new Players had no initial equipment and had to rely on their own Talents and Skills to figure things out.

Just like Brother Dong, who used his Sacrifice Talent to obtain a Legendary Weapon, or like Mohawk, who didn’t even have a weapon and relied entirely on his own Mimicry Talent.

“Ah, what a pity. The Enhancement Points obtained from killing both new and Veteran Players are the same—only 1 Enhancement Point.

I thought the higher the Level of the Player killed, the more Enhancement Points you could get,” Kamiyu lamented inwardly.

But now, she had regained another trump card, and she felt much more at ease.

Kamiyu’s habit was to always keep 1 Enhancement Point as a means for a comeback. Now that she had killed Bai Zhan and successfully obtained 1 Enhancement Point, she could enhance again.

To use an inappropriate analogy, the last bullet was reserved for herself.

After hearing the Panel’s Hint, Kamiyu rushed past Jack, who was still standing there dumbfounded, and quickly dashed toward Bai Zhan’s corpse. Without a second thought, she collected all the Dropped Items into her Storage.

Then she quickly ran behind a dark cover, preparing to break through and escape. The surrounding streets and blocks had already been surrounded by the official special Troops.

She multitasked, keeping an eye on the remaining opponents while searching for an escape route;

At the same time, she checked the Items in her Storage to see what was there and how to use them. The Black Sphere Game was notoriously tricky—many things weren’t explained and required Players to explore on their own.

Kamiyu quickly browsed through the Spoils of War in her Storage.

“Wow, this arrogant guy was really loaded. Not a single piece of equipment on him was below Legendary Tier.”

“One Ancestral Legendary Tier two-handed sword 【Dragon Slayer Blade】, one Ancestral Legendary Tier cuirass 【False Death Garment】(evolvable).”

“Twenty-three pieces of Legendary Equipment—knives, guns, swords, clubs, shields, wands, daggers, scythes—you name it.”

“And a whole bunch of materials, maps, keys, and fragments whose uses were unknown. I’ve struck it rich, struck it rich. This is a one-wave fortune,” Kamiyu counted, almost drooling.

Kamiyu didn’t have time to examine the names and uses of these miscellaneous items in detail. She focused on the two Ancestral Legendary Tier pieces of equipment.

“The Dragon Slayer Blade, a weapon exclusive to the Warrior Class, indeed has the skill as described by that arrogant guy. After activating the skill, it can cleave Common Tier and Legendary Tier weapons in two with a single strike.”

What delighted her even more was that, beyond this, activating the skill could also rapidly deplete the durability of Ancestral Legendary Tier equipment it collided with.

“Ah, it’s a shame I’m not a Warrior Class; I belong to the Mage Class, so my Interface Panel can’t equip this two-handed sword,” Kamiyu lamented.

The thought of a petite girl under 1.6 meters tall wielding a greatsword over two meters long—such a contrast was thrilling to imagine.

However, the next piece of Ancestral Legendary Tier equipment brought her immense joy.

“Cuirass: False Death Garment (Evolvable). Special Note on Evolvability: This equipment can evolve to the highest equipment tier in the Black Sphere Game—Ancestral Dark Gold Tier.” Kamiyu read each word carefully in her mind.

Her eyes widened in astonishment.

Highest equipment tier? Ancestral Dark Gold Tier?

An Ancestral Legendary Tier item had already caused her so much trouble, nearly wiping out the entire team. What about Dark Gold Tier, or even Ancestral Dark Gold Tier? Wouldn’t they be even more overpowering?

She continued reading the affixes.

【After activating the skill, enter Stealth State while increasing Movement Speed by 100%. The effect lasts for 30 seconds, with a Cooldown Time of 10 minutes.

Note: This skill is an Active Skill.】

【Stealth: The Player enters Invisibility State, erasing all traces and concealing any Acoustic, Optical, Thermal, Electrical, and Mechanical Physical Phenomena produced by the Player.】

“My goodness, this is practically essential equipment for an assassin-type Player—exactly what I need most urgently.”

“Now, in addition to the Ambush Style, my playstyle repertoire gains another approach: the assassin style,” she exclaimed excitedly.

If an Ancestral Legendary Tier item already possessed such an overpowering skill, what effects might Dark Gold Tier or Ancestral Dark Gold Tier items have? She dared not imagine.

Could her Enhancement Talent be further enhanced, made even more extraordinary, with additional affixes or skills added to it? Kamiyu wondered.

Back on the battlefield.

Everything had happened too quickly, and no one had fully processed it yet.

Everyone remained standing frozen in place, as if what had just occurred was an illusion.

From the rear, Senior Colonel Hu even asked whether the transmission lines had been hacked by a Player, suggesting the footage might be fake.

They had been tricked like this before, so he urgently instructed Xu Liwen at the front to verify repeatedly whether Bai Zhan was truly dead.

To put it simply, no one could believe that the once-invincible Bai Zhan had been so effortlessly killed by a Newcomer Player.

And in such an undignified manner, like a feather drifting lightly to the ground.

Whether it was Jack, Zhong Hao, or Xu Liwen, they all assumed that after breaking through the Razor Armor, Bai Zhan would have backup plans or engage in an even more intense Life-or-Death Duel.

Indeed, Xu Liwen knew Bai Zhan possessed many life-saving gear items and powerful comeback equipment, but she never expected Kamiyu to act so swiftly.

So fast that no one could react in time.

What did it matter if Bai Zhan had comeback equipment? In the face of Kamiyu’s absolute strength, could he even use it?

A Player without defensive gear, aside from possessing extraordinary lethality and Attack Power, has Health no different from an ordinary person’s.

One punch knocks them down; one shot ends their life. It’s the same for anyone.

In the Black Sphere Game, all are equal in this regard—no one has special privileges.

Without defensive equipment items or defensive talent skills, players are no different from ordinary people.

This is also why many players turn to the authorities.

So far, during the closed beta phase of the Black Sphere Game, individuals have never been able to surpass the authorities. Many players, unwilling to submit and yearning for free adventure, have gone underground, forming their own squads, guilds, and clubs.

The authorities continuously intervene in the Black Sphere Game, selecting players willing to obey and pledge loyalty to them, thereby disrupting the game’s selection mechanism. This has led to many unqualified players becoming Beta Testers and cheating their way to Black Sphere rewards.

In this round of the Black Sphere Game, the authorities have already designated Zhang Wei as the predetermined final victor.

It’s not because he is powerful, but because Zhang Wei is foolish and cowardly enough to be easily controlled by the authorities.

This is also the first future outcome Zhong Hao foresaw.

Kamiyu, Jack, and Zhong Hao all die, leaving only Zhang Wei as the sole victor.

The high-ranking officials are deciding the life and death of the four players on the field.

Honestly its kinda funny that not even a single unit on the front confront the duel of reflection damages or even after the armor breaks. But then again it seems only Xu Liwen is the player thus making other infantry oblivious, or just too stunned to do anything
