Chapter 4: The Fiend in the Smoke
Chapter 4: The Fiend in the Smoke
Dragon Pawn Shop, Second Floor
“Boss, something bad has happened!” An underling rushed frantically to a mahjong table.
“Fuck you, I just won a hand and you say something’s bad?” Brother Long kicked the underling to the ground.
“Calm down, Old Long. Let’s hear how bad it is,” said another person at the mahjong table.
“Speak quickly, don’t ruin my winning streak,” grunted Brother Long, his face covered in fierce-looking flesh—the typical image of a Triad gang boss with high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and high blood sugar, complete with a bald head.
“It’s like this… Old Xin was stabbed to death at the front desk. The person also took Old Xin’s gun,” the underling stammered while kneeling on the ground.
“Fuck you! How dare they mess with Nine-Tattooed Dragon’s territory? They must have a death wish. How many people were there? Which street did they escape to?” Nine-Tattooed Dragon slammed a mahjong tile onto the table, causing the surrounding underlings to fall silent in fear.
“Th-there was only one person… a little girl with pink hair. She didn’t escape. Old Xin lowered the security door in advance, so she’s trapped at the front desk,” the underling stuttered in terror.
“Are you fucking with me? That dog Xin was a rapist and murderer with five lives on his hands, and he got taken down by a little girl?” Nine-Tattooed Dragon’s eyelids twitched.
“How would I dare mess with you, boss? It’s all recorded on the cameras.” The underling handed his phone to Nine-Tattooed Dragon.
Nine-Tattooed Dragon took the phone, tapped on it a few times, and zoomed in on the person at the front desk. He saw Kamiyu making a provocative gesture at the camera.
“Fuck you! She dares to provoke me? After we capture her alive, we’ll rape her and make her regret ever crossing Nine-Tattooed Dragon.” He threw the phone at the underling’s face.
“What are you all standing around for? Grab your weapons and take her down!” Nine-Tattooed Dragon angrily flipped the mahjong table.
The sounds of footsteps and weapons being readied—”clack-clack-clack,” “thump-thump-thump”—immediately echoed throughout the Dragon Pawn Shop.
Over thirty people, fully armed, set up an ambush on the first and second floors.
Haha, I was worried about my physical fitness, but this body is much stronger than my original one.
Holding the gun for over five minutes without getting tired, and still maintaining a proper aiming posture.
The magazine isn’t fully loaded—only ten bullets—but it’s enough for me.
On one side of the iron door.
“Boss, are we really capturing her alive? That girl took down Dog Xin and has a gun,” an underling whispered.
“What’s there to be afraid of? There’s only one person on the other side, and she’s trapped at the front desk. We could drown her with our spit alone. A gun? Does she even know how to use it?” Nine-Tattooed Dragon said, carrying a double-barreled shotgun with a shortened gun barrel.
“Unlock the door. Let’s see if she has the guts to come in,” Nine-Tattooed Dragon sneered.
On the other side of the iron door.
1 vs. 32. It wasn’t Kamiyu who was trapped at the front desk—it was the thirty-two vicious Triad members trapped inside this two-story building.
With a “click,” Kamiyu heard the door unlock, but it didn’t open.
“Testing me?”
“Hmph, you’re just digging your own graves.”
Kamiyu held the gun in her right hand and opened the door with her left, preparing for a highly dangerous close-quarters battle (CQB) assault.
“Boss, she’s coming in,” an underling said, watching the footage from the camera on his phone.
She didn’t destroy the camera. She was just that confident.
Kamiyu didn’t know how many people were inside, the layout of the building, or the enemy’s firepower.
What she sought was this thrill—a feeling even more exhilarating than a game.
To live by facing death.
Declaring war on a life so boring and utterly foul it stinks to high heaven.
“Game start,” she whispered excitedly.
The moment the door opened, before she could even see the enemy, a baseball bat came crashing down like an axe.
She immediately drew her blade, stabbing it into the person’s chin.
Instant kill.
Within three steps, the blade is faster.
With lightning speed, Kamiyu instantly killed a thug with a single slash.
Even these vicious, ruthless Triad members had never seen such a cold-blooded, merciless way of killing. They were all stunned, at a loss for what to do.
“Damn it, she’s a Professional Killer, open fire!” Nine-Tattooed Dragon shouted loudly.
Kamiyu quickly grabbed the dead person’s collar, using the body as a shield against the bullets.
Fortunately, she was petite and had formidable physical strength, able to lift an adult with one hand.
“Bang, bang, bang, bang.” Gunfire erupted.
Everyone concentrated their fire on Kamiyu.
And she only had 10 bullets.
“Bang.”
A thug behind the sofa was headshot.
“Down.” Kamiyu habitually shouted.
“Bang.”
“One-shot.” She hit another thug, clearing the obstacle in front of her, allowing her to find cover behind a pillar.
Hahahaha, this feeling, it’s even stronger than herself in the game, truly hitting wherever she aims, like using an Aimbot.
And she hasn’t even used a Skill yet. Right now, it’s just Normal attacks. If she used her Ultimate Skill, then with a Submachine Gun that has such a high rate of fire, could she wipe out everyone here in an instant?
Kamiyu pulled the Ceramic Blade from the corpse’s chin, flicked off the red and white matter on the blade, and sheathed it.
“Damn it.” Seeing Kamiyu advance instead of retreat, Nine-Tattooed Dragon stomped his feet in anger.
This was indoors, the distance was too close. Nine-Tattooed Dragon didn’t dare use a Hand Grenade; he might end up blowing himself up.
“Who sent you? Number Gang? Ping Gang? No, whatever they’re paying you, I’ll double it,” Nine-Tattooed Dragon shouted loudly.
At the same time, he was signaling with a secret sign, telling his underling to bring him heavy firepower.
“Bang.”
Another gunshot. The underling who was about to move was instantly headshot, Blood Mist spraying onto the white wall, creating a stark contrast.
“Fuck.” Nine-Tattooed Dragon cursed under his breath.
“Down.” Kamiyu shouted again.
“What the hell is she yelling about? Brothers, concentrate fire on her!”
“Bang, bang, bang, bang.” Gunfire erupted.
Immediately, Kamiyu was pinned down, unable to lift her head.
This wasn’t an online game. If you died here, you died for real. And Kamiyu knew from killing Huang Kun that even Black Sphere Game Players couldn’t withstand blade wounds, let alone gunshots.
Kamiyu thought to herself, probably in this game, to increase kill efficiency, the game master had lowered the Players’ 【Defense Power】 to a Normal person’s state.
Over ten seconds later, the gunfire became even more intense.
“Rat-tat-tat, rat-tat-tat, rat-tat-tat.” The sound rang out.
That gunfire? It was the sound of a Machine Gun. Since when did the Triads in Dragon Roar City have such heavy firepower? Kamiyu was surprised.
But this idiot doesn’t know how to use it properly; he doesn’t even know how to switch to full-auto. He’s currently in semi-auto Three-Round Burst mode.
Which means, between each Three-Round Burst, there’s a brief time interval.
That time is enough for Kamiyu to one-shot the opponent.
“Brothers, charge! This time you’re dead for sure! I’m going to make you beg for mercy on your knees,” Nine-Tattooed Dragon roared, the fat on his face trembling from the Machine Gun’s Recoil.
Kamiyu spotted a carbon dioxide fire extinguisher at her feet.
“Hah, heaven truly helps me.”
She threw the carbon dioxide fire extinguisher toward the opposite side.
Nine-Tattooed Dragon instinctively shot at the moving object.
“Bang, bang, bang.”
With a “boom,”
white smoke instantly filled the entire room.
“Cough, cough, cough, cough.” The underlings closed their eyes, covered their noses, and coughed wildly.
“Damn it.” Nine-Tattooed Dragon regretted.
“Activate Skill, 【Headshot Strike】.” Kamiyu shouted.
