Chapter 58: Bountiful Harvest
Chapter 58: Bountiful Harvest
Interstitial Space, Crimson Earth, Main City Kaijistan.
More and more people logged in, and the main city began to bustle with activity.
“Just for a Legendary Equipment, so many people are coming online. The last time we had this many online was during the Main City Defense Battle,” a veteran player remarked with emotion.
Everyone was looking at the Trading Post space, watching the Legendary Equipment listed by Kamiyu.
“This Max Roll spear is actually priced at materials worth 100 million. Who can afford that? This big shot named Kamiyu is really greedy,” a veteran player joked.
“You know it’s a Max Roll spear. Just because you can’t afford it doesn’t mean others can’t,” someone nearby retorted.
“That’s right, this is a Legendary Weapon. A whole bunch of Squad Captains and Guild Leaders are scrambling to buy it,” another person chimed in.
Those who couldn’t afford it watched the commotion from the sidelines, chattering away.
Meanwhile, those who could afford it were busy figuring out how to gather the materials.
Tavern.
“The trading method for the Legendary spear is barter. It requires 10,000 plants each of Strangler Vine, Radaman Grass, Withered Shadow Grass, and Howling Moss;
1,000 each of Angel’s Breath and Demon Rose;
2,000 sheets of Demon Rawhide, 200 Demon Hearts, and 2,000 kilograms of Aberrant Beast Shattered Bones.”
“What is this big shot up to? She doesn’t want Virtual Coins but is trading for materials. Virtual Coins can be transferred instantly, but materials have to be gathered through all sorts of means,” the Vice Guild Leader said.
“This spear is crucial for our upcoming exploration. We must secure it. Everyone, hand over your materials. Let’s see how much we’re still short,” a Guild Leader commanded.
“Yes, sir!” All the guild players in the tavern collectively traded all the materials they had on them to the Vice Guild Leader.
“These materials used for crafting Common Equipment are easier to gather. For what we lack, we can buy them on the Black Market and have the Mule Guild deliver them.”
“But Black Iron Ore, Brass Ore, and Silver Ore—these materials used for building the Sanctuary—each require 2,000 kilograms. Which guild can afford that?” The Vice Guild Leader scratched his head, looking utterly helpless.
“And Magic Crystal Ore? This high-level material, which can only be collected in third-difficulty—Elite difficulty—Instance Dungeons, is priced at 10,000 kilograms?”
“This big shot is really asking for the moon. All the players combined don’t even have 100 kilograms of Magic Crystal Ore. It’s clear she doesn’t actually intend to sell it; she’s just showing off this equipment.” The Vice Guild Leader grew more and more distressed as he looked at the trade requirements.
“Could it be that this big shot doesn’t know how to play and doesn’t understand the price system, just randomly setting a price?” a guild officer suggested.
“Regardless, let’s first sweep the Trading Post space and the Black Market to gather all the required materials,” the Guild Leader ordered.
The same situation was unfolding in other guilds, squads, and clubs—they were frantically buying up goods on the Black Market while complaining about Kamiyu’s unreasonable asking price.
Some materials were extremely rare or even unavailable.
For example, high-level magical materials like 【Scattering Prism】 and 【Haze Crystal】, used to reinforce the Sanctuary, weren’t even sold on the Black Market.
That was because the 12 Beta Tester Players were working together, having their trusted subordinates purchase these two materials on the Black Market indefinitely—buying them up as soon as they appeared, snapping them up instantly.
How could such resources, which required frantic purchasing, ever end up being traded to Kamiyu?
In a certain large Sanctuary, three Beta Testers had gathered together.
One Beta Tester Player, seeing the two types of high-level magical materials in Kamiyu’s trade listing, immediately knew she was a newbie, unaware of the unspoken rules here.
“At first, when I saw her list 23 Legendary Weapons all at once, I thought she must be really powerful.”
“Who would have thought she’d use this method to collect Scattering Prisms and Haze Crystals. We don’t even have enough of these materials ourselves; we have to offer high prices to buy them. If you do it like this, who’s going to sell to you?” a Beta Tester Player wearing a cloak said, shaking his head.
“Even so, you have to admit, this max roll spear is really tempting. If I didn’t need materials to build the Sanctuary, I’d really want to bid on it,” another Beta Tester Player said.
“I advise you not to bid on her equipment. I found out that her 23 pieces of equipment are stolen goods obtained from ambushing and killing the Official Player Bai Zhan,” the cloaked Beta Tester Player said.
“She’s that strong? She can even kill Bai Zhan? Doesn’t Bai Zhan have Razor Armor? How did she manage it?”
“But this newcomer named Kamiyu did well. That Bai Zhan never took us Beta Tester Players seriously.”
“How would I know? Now the officials have sent Lei Yao to hunt down Kamiyu. I don’t think she’ll last more than a few days,” the cloaked Beta Tester said with schadenfreude.
“Lei Yao? If he makes a move, even a Beta Tester will die. What a pity,” the second Beta Tester Player shook his head.
“Then, do we still need to tell her about the agreement among Beta Tester Players?” asked the third Beta Tester Player, who had a square-shaped face.
“Hmph, I think you’re meddling in other people’s business. Instead of worrying about someone who’s about to die, you’d better prepare for how to withstand the next Hell Tide,” the cloaked Beta Tester snorted.
While they were discussing, the price of materials on the Black Market had been thrown into chaos by Kamiyu’s actions.
Various Squads, Guilds, and Clubs, in order to purchase Kamiyu’s weapons and equipment, rushed to buy materials on the Black Market.
The price of materials first tripled, then increased fivefold, and even tenfold, with people from these Organizations using Virtual Coins to instantly buy them out.
Solo players and Lone Wolves were all feasting, as if celebrating a festival.
Materials were in short supply. Smart people immediately called friends, gathered teams, and headed into Instance Dungeons or went out to farm monsters in the wild, frantically farming materials.
Members of Organizations like Squads, Guilds, and Clubs did the same, diving into Instance Dungeons to farm materials.
The entire Main City Kaijistan, along with Instance Dungeon entrances located all over the Crimson Earth, became extremely lively.
Black Sphere Room.
One benefit of being a Beta Tester Player was the ability to trade Items even when not physically present on the Crimson Earth.
“Ding, ding, ding, ding, ding.” Her trade success Notifications kept ringing non-stop.
“Damn it, I can mute private messages, why can’t I mute System Notifications?”
“But hearing this cash register-like sound of receiving payments puts me in the best mood.”
Materials could be farmed from monsters. She had allotted time for them to collect materials, thinking it might take days or even weeks to sell the items. Unexpectedly, in less than half an hour, five pieces of equipment with mid-range rolls had been sold.
Kamiyu looked at her Storage, packed full of materials, and couldn’t be happier.
“Struck it rich, struck it rich! Selling just five has already filled one-fifth of the Storage, and I still have eighteen items left to sell. The highest-priced Spear is still listed, waiting for some big spender to bid.”
Kamiyu quickly allocated the attribute points gained from leveling up into expanding her Storage space.
Earlier in the Black Sphere Game, she had killed Mohawk, three members of Huang Kun’s Quartet, Zhong Hao, and indirectly killed two Players by causing them to jump from a building and crash into a car, plus one injured Player who got stuck.
In total, she had killed eight Players, raising her Level to 10, which allowed her to allocate attribute points seven times.
