Chapter 75: The Clout of the Beta Tester Title

Chapter 75: The Clout of the Beta Tester Title

Kamiyu didn’t need virtual coins; what she needed most were “construction materials” to build and strengthen the Sanctuary.

These construction materials would absolutely not appear in the Trading Post space. The twelve Beta Testers themselves didn’t have enough to spare, so why would they sell them to others?

Thus, construction materials were scarce resources.

She wanted to trade potions for construction materials.

Having clarified her trading goal, Kamiyu headed to the fountain at the center of the Main City.

The stall area was still bustling with a continuous, dense flow of people, as lively and crowded as ever.

Kamiyu felt there were even more people trading now than before; it was so packed she couldn’t even squeeze in.

The stall owner from the Invincible Guild spotted Kamiyu from afar. Being perceptive, he quickly handed the stall over to his aides, stepped out of the crowd, and walked toward Kamiyu.

Both parties were aware of each other’s identity and strength, but neither mentioned it outright.

The stall owner spoke first: “Hello, Big Shot. What can I do for you?”

Since the other party was sensible, Kamiyu didn’t bother flexing and got straight to the point: “I have a batch of goods and would like to cooperate with you.”

“I have—”

The stall owner immediately waved his hand, interrupting Kamiyu. “Hold on, Big Shot. It’s too crowded and noisy here. Let’s go somewhere quieter.”

Kamiyu blinked. This person was honest.

She had only been testing the waters earlier, not actually intending to reveal the details of the trade.

Kamiyu pretended to have a sudden realization, nodded, and followed the stall owner as he left.

“Where are we going?” Kamiyu asked.

“I’m not qualified to discuss cooperation with you, Big Shot. If you don’t mind, please come to our Guild headquarters,” the stall owner said enthusiastically.

“Oh, this person really is sensible,” Kamiyu thought to herself.

Invincible was a powerful Guild. Their Guild mansion was located next to the Main City’s central square—a clean, tidy, and recently renovated standalone mansion.

Seeing this old Western-style architecture, Kamiyu felt a strong sense of familiarity.

She recalled that back in the real world, during the Major competition in the Design Capital, she had once toured similar villas and mansions from a distance. The styles were very similar.

The two entered the mansion.

Unlike the ancient design outside, the interior had a very modern, bright, and open design style.

In the hall, real-world items like televisions, game consoles, a pool table, throwing darts, a ping-pong table, sofas, and a coffee machine were all mixed together with in-game monster bone specimens, furs, and rare decorative materials she couldn’t name. She noticed that a basketball court had even been built in the backyard outside the living room.

It all felt incredibly surreal to Kamiyu, as if she had stepped into a dreamland, blurring the lines between reality and the Crimson Earth.

“Normally, many members hang out and entertain themselves in this hall, but for the past few days, everyone has been frantically grinding monsters in Instance Dungeons and the Wilderness Zone,” the stall owner explained.

This was actually better for her—no one would come to bother her excessively.

The two arrived on the third floor.

The stall owner said, “President Li is inside.”

He knocked on the door, then discreetly left.

Kamiyu blinked, took a deep breath, and told herself inwardly: “This is a game, not reality. I am the brave version of myself, not the weak, incompetent, timid, and shy person from reality.”

Switch complete.

Without waiting for a response from inside, she directly opened the door.

She noticed a middle-aged man standing before her, dressed in a plain, simple white shirt, with his black hair slicked back in a classic style. He had a typical square-shaped face, wore a faint smile, but his eyes were sharp and his spirit was vigorous.

Kamiyu felt that this person’s aura resembled that of a big shot like Tianyang from the classic movie Hooligan.

She wondered to herself, would this person say something like, “You’re in great shape, just like a fighter”?

Li Changde spoke first, “Hello, please have a seat. How should I address you?”

A newcomer player could directly meet the guild leader of a major guild? The other party had already recognized her identity, so Kamiyu didn’t bother hiding or pretending to be mysterious.

She removed her cloak and mask, sat down, and said, “Just call me Kamiyu.”

Li Changde smiled and said, “That won’t do. I’ll address you as Miss Jia.”

Kamiyu nodded. “I have a batch of goods and would like to collaborate with you.”

Li Changde replied straightforwardly, “No problem. It’s our honor.”

Kamiyu was inwardly surprised. Huh? So smooth? She had expected some back-and-forth, beating around the bush until their mouths went dry from talking.

Li Changde, a former top executive of a Fortune 500 company in reality, was highly skilled in management and business. Just by observing Kamiyu’s expression and reaction, he knew exactly what she was thinking and how to proceed with the conversation.

He explained, “Every Beta Tester Player has a dedicated interest representative, even if they are a neutral Lone Wolf Beta Tester Player.

Our Invincible Guild is very eager and welcomes the opportunity to collaborate with any Beta Tester Player.”

Kamiyu knew that the Invincible Guild was an independent guild, not affiliated with any Beta Tester Player.

“Interest representative?” But Kamiyu didn’t understand this term.

Li Changde explained, “Simply put, there are two trading mechanisms: one is an exclusive market where only Beta Testers can list items for sale, and the other is a free-trading Black Market.

Beta Tester Players need someone to operate on their behalf in the Black Market. Such individuals or organizations are the interest representatives of Beta Tester Players.

Just like what Miss Jia needs us to do now.”

After listening to all this theory, Kamiyu only understood one thing: was her status as a Beta Tester really that significant? Almost everyone wanted to collaborate with her.

She didn’t even have to ask—others were begging to work with her.

This Beta Tester Title was truly incredible.

Apart from its in-game functions, the Beta Tester Title also granted Kamiyu an extremely high status within the player ecosystem.

Kamiyu thought to herself that since the Invincible Guild was not part of a Beta Tester’s “Assets,” her coming to them as a Beta Tester Player might actually lower her own value.

Fortunately, they were sensible.

Li Changde had done his homework and understood the needs of Beta Testers very well. He said sincerely, “Miss Jia, how would you like to collaborate?

What Beta Tester Players need most are building materials for constructing Sanctuaries. We can mobilize all our members to gather them and spend large sums to sweep the Black Market for supplies.

Moreover, our exploration team can search for suitable locations for your Sanctuary based on your needs.”

After listening, Kamiyu raised her eyebrows, feeling extremely excited inside.

This President Li was sensible, very sensible indeed.

No wonder he had built his guild into the best one recognized outside of Beta Tester guilds.

Seeing the other party being so sensible, Kamiyu didn’t hold out for a higher price and got straight to the point: “I have 2,000 bottles of Minor Health Potions. How much building materials can they be exchanged for?”

She didn’t understand business, nor did she know how much building materials were available on the Black Market, or whether large-scale purchases would attract the attention of other Beta Testers.

Now it was Li Changde’s turn to be greatly surprised. He widened his eyes and opened his mouth, asking, “Miss Jia, are those 2,000 Health Restoration Potions available immediately?”

“Of course, they’re lying in my Storage,” Kamiyu said.

She felt somewhat pleased inside. She hadn’t even mentioned that she still had 500 bottles of higher-priced Resistance Potions—she was just testing the waters with these 2,000 bottles first.
