Chapter 91: The Farmer

Chapter 91: The Farmer

As Jack and Kamiyu approached the second checkpoint, they discovered traces left behind by others.

“The coagulation level of this blood, along with the signs of combat around here—someone was here just now,” Jack said with a frown.

Kamiyu crouched down to examine the scene. “This isn’t just human blood. Here, here, and over there—all human blood. There’s very little monster blood left behind.”

Jack asked, “What about the monster corpses?”

Kamiyu replied, “This group must have stored the monster corpses in their storage. According to the map’s instructions, the route between the first and second checkpoints is a reward stage, where monsters drop much more loot.”

“No wonder we haven’t seen a single trace of an Aberrant Beast Demon along the way—they’ve already been cleared by others,” Kamiyu said, feeling both regretful and tense.

She feared that this group had already killed more monsters and snatched more items.

She continued, “The Instance Dungeons in Crimson Earth aren’t like traditional online games, where you can create a private room to separate yourself from others and everyone clears their own maps independently.”

“The Instance Dungeons in Crimson Earth are public, meaning 200 to 300 people can enter the same dungeon to clear maps.”

From the dungeon information on the map, she also learned that once the Dungeon Boss is killed, the dungeon immediately resets.

If a Boss Battle is initiated and victory isn’t achieved within 24 hours, the dungeon forcibly resets, expelling all players.

After understanding this information, Kamiyu thought carefully and said, “The dungeon is public. How much loot you get depends entirely on your own skills.”

Jack, lacking Kamiyu’s strong ambition, was indifferent. “As I said before, whoever stands in our way, we kill.”

“Haha, not bad, not bad. We’re quite a good match. That’s the kind of attitude I need in my enforcer,” Kamiyu laughed.

Where there are people, there are conflicts; where there are interests, there will be clashes. If they encountered Official Players, there was no need for words—just start killing.

Even if they encountered Civilian Players, if they tried to block the way and rob them, Kamiyu said they deserved to be killed.

This was Crimson Earth. You never knew what tomorrow would bring. Only by becoming stronger yourself could you survive better.

After a moment’s thought, Kamiyu decided to change into the Mage Robe of the Invincible Guild. In her left hand, she held her previous Staff, the Staff of Cruelty.

Hidden inside her wide robe, her right hand gripped a Demon-Repelling Holy Flame.

The two followed the traces forward and soon heard the sounds of intense combat.

The clashing of swords and weapons rang out.

“Left side, watch out for the axe!”

“Right side, Archer, use your Skill now!” A Sorceress, also wearing a Mage Robe and holding a Grimoire, shouted commands.

Kamiyu saw a seven-person team attacking the Skeleton Warriors at the second checkpoint. Upon closer inspection, she realized they were the ones being attacked by the Skeleton Warriors.

Four Warriors stood on the frontline, but there was only one Archer. In the back, there was one Mage and one Bard applying Buffs.

Kamiyu shook her head. With four Warriors, they were still struggling like this—these people really didn’t know how to play. If she were in command, she would split the four Warriors into two groups: two to pull aggro and two to secure kills, with the Archer covering the flanks.

As long as they managed their Cooldown Times properly and coordinated well, even the Mage and Bard wouldn’t be necessary.

“Gwah.” An axe-wielding warrior engaged in close-range combat was ambushed by a skeleton warrior, a long spear piercing through his back.

“Archer, how did monsters slip through on the right?” the long-haired, straight-haired sorceress shouted angrily.

“Sorry, my skill is on cooldown,” a green leather-armored archer apologized, her face flushed with panic.

“You’re really useless. Bard, quickly apply the damage reduction buff, or the frontline won’t hold, and we’ll all die here,” the sorceress yelled.

“I used them all at once just now. It’ll take another half minute,” the bard said urgently.

“No choice then, scatter. I’m using my ultimate skill.”

“Wait for me, I can walk out,” the injured warrior raised his sword and said weakly.

“Too late, figure it out yourself,” the mage shouted loudly.

The other three warriors scattered in confusion.

As the sorceress raised her purple grimoire, preparing to cast the fireball spell, another “mage” made her move.

An intensely bright blue-white light erupted behind their seven-person team before they could even turn to look.

“Boom.”

A lightning bolt struck the cluster of skeleton monsters, instantly obliterating over a dozen skeleton warriors and reducing all the monsters to dust.

Kamiyu raised her left hand, but in reality, she was using Demon-Repelling Holy Flame, firing a thunderstorm bullet in arc splatter mode (triple attributes).

One thunderstorm bullet struck the monsters, with 300% attack power, piercing through an entire row of monsters and instantly eliminating three skeleton creatures.

Upon hitting the monsters, the bullet’s arc split into five arcs, each dealing 300% damage, randomly electrocuting the health of surrounding monsters.

Kamiyu was surprised to discover the “bug” in this affix: it didn’t just produce five arcs; instead, every time the bullet made contact with a monster, it generated five arcs.

Her bullet pierced through three monsters, producing fifteen arcs, theoretically capable of killing up to eighteen monsters.

“Damn, is this even real?” Even Kamiyu herself felt it was terrifying.

Level 15 monsters—just earlier, killing one level 15 black-scaled water snake had left her feeling nauseous and miserable for half an hour. Now, she could annihilate them with a single bullet?

She felt incredibly excited and happy.

A new idea suddenly popped into Kamiyu’s mind: “Hey, if I unlock another magic bullet like the armor-piercing round next time and use them together, wouldn’t that be like activating mowing down hordes mode?”

The experience points skyrocketing from killing so many level 15 skeleton monsters reminded Kamiyu to go collect the spoils of war.

“Who’s there?”

“Someone’s here.”

“When did they arrive? How were you guarding the rear?” the mage accused.

Only then did they react, turning to look behind them.

Kamiyu ignored them completely, walking past the group and heading straight toward the pile of shattered skeleton monster remains.

“Wait a minute,” the team’s leader, the mage, shouted to stop her.

“Wait for your dead person’s head,” Kamiyu retorted, disregarding everything and storing all the loot into her storage.

The injured warrior looked at Kamiyu with a grateful expression.

“Wait, who are you?” The mage showed no gratitude for Kamiyu’s timely rescue. Instead, her tone was harsh, filled with resentment as if her spoils of war had been stolen.

The spoils of war naturally belong to whoever defeats the enemy.

“Who are you?” When it came to competing for benefits, Kamiyu would not show weakness. She was unwilling to accept being questioned.

The sorceress noticed the Golden Phoenix Emblem on Kamiyu’s guild robe, and her tone grew even more hostile. She said with disgust, “So it’s someone from the Stinking Chicken Guild. No wonder I smelled a foul stench from far away.”
