Chapter 76: VS Eval Woodfolk (Two)

Chapter 76: VS Eval Woodfolk (Two)

Original: Chapter 76: VS Eval Woodfolk 2

I put some distance between myself and the Eval Woodfolk. I tossed the Shark Backpack I was still carrying to the corner.

Oh, I’d left Miss Himeka alone for a while. I hope she’s okay.

While being wary of the Eval Woodfolk’s branches, I looked at Miss Himeka, who was still restrained by the branches in the air.

Good. It doesn’t look like she’s hurt.

“Miss Himeka, are you alright?”

“Gyaah! I, I might be in a state where I don’t want to be seen by anyone right now!”

Miss Himeka is in a terrible state right now. Both her hands and feet are restrained by branches, so she can’t move, and there’s an Acid Slime on top of her body. Because of that, her clothes are being dissolved and are all tattered.

“Y-yes, you certainly look like you’re in a tough spot.”

“Right? It’s beyond embarrassing! To think I’m being done in by a Slime! You just wait and see!”

Miss Himeka thrashes around. But she doesn’t get free from the branches, and the Slime doesn’t fall off her body either.

“Miss Himeka, I’m going to attack the branches that are restraining you somehow.”

“Ah, it’s okay, it’s okay. I can see a way to Counterattack. I’ve just finished preparing.”

Miss Himeka manipulated her Item Space with her freely moving fingers. Then, she took out an Arrow from the Item Space and gripped it tightly.

“Miss Himeka, are you going to fight with an Arrow?”

“Yeah. I was waiting for an Arrow to be Created with 〈Arrow Create〉.”

“But, if you can’t use a Bow…”

“It’s okay. I’ll give the Arrow poison with the Skill 〈Poison Master〉—”

Whoa, the arrowhead turned purple. And poison bubbles are popping out.

“I’m going to stab this into the branch!”

With just the strength of her hands and fingers, Miss Himeka stabbed the arrowhead into the branch.

The poison that Miss Himeka had prepared in the arrowhead flowed into the Eval Woodfolk’s branch.

Whether the poison is extremely strong, or the Eval Woodfolk is simply weak to poison—the branch turns purple in the blink of an eye. It looks like the branch is getting weaker. At this rate, Miss Himeka should be able to break free from the branch’s restraint.

“Yay! I’m free!”

Miss Himeka raised her right hand. She really did get free from the branch.

“Now, it’s time to Counterattack. I’m going to make you absolutely regret making me look bad in front of my cute junior!”

Miss Himeka drew the Sword hanging from her waist. Then, with brilliant swordsmanship, she cut down all the branches that had been restraining her.

Miss Himeka, now free in the air, fell to the ground.

For a moment, I felt a chill, but Miss Himeka gracefully twisted her body in the air to regain her balance. And as if a flower petal was fluttering down to the ground, Miss Himeka landed beautifully.

Miss Himeka stood up.

Her Blazer and Blouse are tattered. Her bra is also tattered. It’s because they were dissolved by the Acid Slime. Her stomach is completely exposed, and her skirt is full of holes.

Even in that state, I thought it was amazing that Miss Himeka still looked beautiful.

Miss Himeka ran towards the Eval Woodfolk.

“Little Sayuki, I’m going to defeat that thing for you!”

Crap, this is bad. At this rate, she’ll beat me to it.

I’ve been hurt a lot by the Eval Woodfolk, but I haven’t done anything to get back at it yet. I definitely won’t feel good if things stay this way.

I looked at the Eval Woodfolk. It was extending its branches towards me.

I blew away that branch with a swing like a baseball player.

“I’m definitely going to defeat that thing! I can’t let it end with me being the one who was beaten!”

“Nice! That’s the spirit!”

I started running towards the Eval Woodfolk at full speed. New branches grew out and extended towards me.

I struck those branches hard with my Hammer and sent them flying far away.

The Eval Woodfolk’s trunk is gradually turning purple. It seems the poison from the branches is spreading. It might die from that poison alone even if I leave it alone. But that wouldn’t be fun.

“Take this!”

I struck the Eval Woodfolk’s trunk with my Hammer with all my might.

Miki miki miki—. It felt like I crushed something inside the Eval Woodfolk. I’m sure it did a good amount of Damage. I’ll keep up the Attack.

“Uooooooooh!”

I hit it with the Hammer, hit it, and hit it over and over again.

I can see Miss Himeka out of the corner of my eye. She’s swinging her Sword as if dancing, with an Attack speed that I can’t match.

B-beautiful. Her movements are too beautiful. I don’t think I have even a shred of beauty as I swing my Hammer with all my might, desperately. Miss Himeka must be a fundamentally different creature from me. I want to keep watching her, but I want to Attack the Eval Woodfolk even more.

“Ah, no way!”

A branch wrapped around my waist. It’s trying to pull me up forcefully.

“Gununununununu. I won’t lose!”

I put all my effort into my abs and the soles of my feet and stood my ground. Then, I glared at the trunk. I’ll kill it before it kills me—.

“Uooooooooh!”

I continued to Attack while shouting loudly.

The trunk is getting more and more dented from my Hammer Attacks. The trunk is being cut up more and more by Miss Himeka’s Sword. And it seems the poison has spread throughout the Eval Woodfolk’s entire body.

I somehow understand. The Eval Woodfolk is close to its limit.

A new branch wrapped around my ankle. But it’s already weak. I don’t think it can pull me away.

“Now, for the finishing blow!”

I held my Hammer high above my head. And I gave it a Full-power Strike.

Zawa zawa zawa!

The branches and leaves rustled all at once. And the Eval Woodfolk’s trunk showed a movement as if it was stretching out due to the intense pain. Also, it’s letting out a loud scream that sounds like a shriek.

“Gieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!”

“Oh? It looks like Little Sayuki defeated it~♪”

I can feel the Eval Woodfolk’s Life Force running out. The long branches drooped limply to the ground.

The trunk turned into something like a decayed old tree in the blink of an eye. The scary face that was on the trunk is gone before I knew it. It’s just become like a withered tree.

I wiped away my sweat. It was a pretty high Durability enemy.

“Miss Himeka, good work.”

“Yeah, you too, Little Sayuki.”

Miss Himeka gave me a sideways peace sign near her eyes. Because that gesture was so cute, my heart skipped a beat.
