Chapter 47

Chapter 47

“Thanks for your hard work today as well. I’ll get everything organized and be back within the next few days. See you all then.”

[Na Jaeha]

[Traits: Ranged Dealer, Knight]

[LV: 60]

[Total Ability: 909]

[Skills: MuTube, Grant Me Power, Half Recovery, Divine Physician Hua Tuo’s Secret Art, Bow Mastery, Mana Shot, Marksmanship, Breath Control, Shadow Walk, Stealth, Shadow Eye, Metallurgy, Rapid Fire, Triple Shot, High-Speed Rapid Fire, Clone Technique, Indestructible Vajra Body, Five Elements Art, Throwing Technique, Enchant, Mana Conduction, Magic (Circles 1–7), Spirit Arts, Alchemy, Taiji Divine Art, Heavenly Demon Divine Art, Dragon Blood, Taiji Sword]

After confirming his level and total ability, Jaeha closed the status window right away. Then he headed straight home. When he arrived, Seungho greeted him in the living room.

“You’re back. Watched the stream. Thought you only knew how to use guns and bows, but you’re pretty damn good with a sword too.”

“Yeah?”

“It’s already blowing up everywhere, by the way.”

“Don’t really care. Oh, right.”

“Huh? What?”

“You wanna learn magic?”

“Magic?”

“Yeah. You know that one freeloading at my place.”

“Sia?”

“Yeah. Originally, the deal was they’d only stay for 15 days.”

“The 15 days are already up.”

“Yeah. So I told them to leave. But they said they wouldn’t go. So I told them—if they teach you magic, I’ll let it slide.”

At that, Seungho’s eyes went wide.

“For real?!”

“Yeah. But they’ll only teach you magic until you Awaken.”

“Fine by me. I’m good with anything. As long as they’re willing to teach, I’ll do whatever it takes.”

“Then get yourself ready and go.”

“Got it!”

Jaeha watched Seungho’s back as he answered and immediately ran up to Gersia’s room. Then he turned to Sia and spoke.

“So how far along are you on the lessons?”

“The potion side is mostly done since I already had some knowledge there. Now the real lessons begin.”

“Makes sense—potions are easy to make anyway as long as you have spirits around.”

“Starting tomorrow, I’ll finish organizing the remaining potions, and after that I plan to teach golems.”

“Do that. The sooner we wrap it up, the sooner we can send them back.”

“Yes.”

“And once they’re back, they can teach alchemy to the people on their side too.”

Saying that, Jaeha headed up to his room.

Once upstairs, Jaeha thought for a moment, then opened the MuTube app on his phone. He stared at the search bar, deliberating.

‘What do I even type to find this?’

After mulling it over, Jaeha figured he wouldn’t find what he was looking for in documentaries or anything like that. So he closed the MuTube app, opened his internet browser, and started searching around.

After some searching, Jaeha managed to accomplish his goal.

“So the animation’s called……”

He searched the name of the animation he’d found on MuTube. Quite a few videos came up, and he sifted through them looking for a specific part.

After investing about ten minutes, Jaeha finally found the video he’d been hunting for.

“Finally found it.”

He immediately played the video. It was only five minutes long, and he watched it to the end. When it finished, a window appeared before Jaeha’s eyes.

[Skill Transfer]

[Rank: Hero]

[Transfers one of your skills to another person. There is a maximum number of uses, determined by Proficiency.]

[Proficiency: 20%]

“Finally found it.”

Jaeha smiled and checked how many transfers he could perform.

[Proficiency 20% – 3 uses]

“20% gives 3 uses…… so to reach 100%, that’s 15 times?”

Jaeha nodded to himself.

[Congratulations. Your skill has received a synergy bonus, increasing its Proficiency.]

“Oh?”

Jaeha realized that the Skill Transfer skill and the Mana Conduction skill had received a synergy bonus.

‘Well, I guess Mana Conduction is similar to Skill Transfer in a way—it passes mana to someone else.’

Either way, this was great news for him. Jaeha immediately checked his Proficiency and Skill Points.

[Skill Transfer]

[Proficiency: 60%]

[Skill Points: 433]

‘Ah, it’s still been less than a month. Still, I can max it out to 100%. Good.’

Nodding, Jaeha immediately invested all his Skill Points into Skill Transfer. Then he checked the number of uses.

[Proficiency 100% – 20 uses]

‘So the fifth use is a bonus.’

With that, Jaeha smiled, rose from his seat, and left the room. He came down to the living room. It was unexpectedly quiet. And there, in the middle of the living room, sat Seungho, perfectly still.

Glancing at Gersia beside him, he realized something was happening. Before long, he felt a fairly large surge of mana flow.

And all that mana was being drawn into Seungho.

“Success.”

Watching it, Gersia smiled.

“Did he awaken?”

“Indeed. My hypothesis was correct.”

“Hypothesis?”

“Yes. Humans blessed by mana undergo Awakening—that being the case, I theorized that mana must trigger Awakening through some effect on the human body. So I rapidly distributed mana around this human. Then I had him practice the mana breathing method. And so he awakened, just like that.”

“Oh-ho. Fascinating.”

“In any case, I’ve kept my promise, so don’t touch him now.”

“If I have something for you to do, I’ll ask.”

“That’s fine. But I doubt you’ll have much for me to do.”

“Huh?”

“Isn’t that the truth? From what I can see, you possess the highest level of combat power and wealth in this world. Am I wrong?”

“You’re right.”

“How many things could there be that you can’t handle yourself and would need me for? From now on, I’ll just rest and pursue knowledge.”

With that, Gersia went up to their room.

“I can just order them around anyway.”

Jaeha smirked.

Episode 19

“Ughhh.”

Letting out a strange sound, Seungho sprawled out on the living room floor.

“Feeling clear-headed?”

“Uh…….”

“How is it?”

“I’d say I’m just dazed…… It’s a bit much.”

“What’s your Total Ability and trait?”

At Jaeha’s question, Seungho answered immediately.

“Status…… Trait check.”

“What is it?”

“Total Ability is 30. And the trait is—”

“Yeah?”

“Dark Swordsman.”

“Dark Swordsman?”

“Yeah. I’ve heard of it before.”

“Right. It’s not exactly a common trait.”

Jaeha nodded and thought for a moment.

“Hey.”

“Huh?”

“I’ve got a skill called Skill Transfer.”

“Skill Transfer?”

“Yeah. It’s a skill that lets me give my skills to someone else.”

“Oh. Really?”

“That’s what I wanted to talk about. Anyway, Gersia’s way better at magic than me, so you should learn that from them.”

“Okay.”

“I’ll give you a swordsmanship skill, at least.”

“Swordsmanship?”

“Yeah. How about it?”

“What’s so special about the swordsmanship you’d teach me?”

“Well, you know that saying going around—back in the day, there were a lot of people in China who used martial arts.”

“Ah, yeah. There were.”

“The swordsmanship I have is that kind of martial art.”

“Ooh! Martial arts are definitely different?”

“I’ve never learned other swordsmanship styles, but compared to the skills other famous Hunters have, it’s outstandingly superior.”

“Alright. Then I’ll take that one.”

“I don’t know exactly how this works either.”

“Am I your test subject?”

“I originally found it to give a skill to Sia……. But since you awakened, well. Sia’s busy teaching her students right now.”

“Whatever, fine. Either way.”

“So, do you want demon arts or orthodox arts?”

“For a guy, the darker the better.”

“Hmph. Well, suit yourself.”

With that, Jaeha nodded and activated the skill.

[Designate the target and the skill to transfer.]

Jaeha selected Heavenly Demon Divine Art and Seungho. With a soft sound, a flash of light flickered for an instant, then vanished.

“Oh!”

Seungho let out a small exclamation.

“How is it?”

“Whoa, it’s here. Wow, the rank is Legendary?”

“You’re a Dark Swordsman, so I should give you something sword-related, right?”

“Huh? Yeah.”

“I’ll transfer a weapon skill to you later. I don’t have a good one right now.”

“Yeah. Time to try it out.”

With that, he began circulating his energy, and Jaeha looked for Sia. Sia was teaching alchemy to John and his group, as usual.

“Sia.”

“Yes? What is it?”

“What kind of skill do you want?”

“A skill?”

“Yeah.”

“Hmm, well, I think a ranged dealer like you would suit me best, Master.”

“That’s probably true.”

“That might be better.”

“You could also go the healer route.”

“Hmm.”

Sia thought for a moment, then spoke.

“Should I mix it up a bit?”

“Mix a ranged dealer with a healer?”

“Yes. You have talent in the healer direction too, Master.”

“That’s true.”

“I think that might be better.”

“Alright. Then I’ll look for something like that.”

“Yes.”

With that, Jaeha went back up to his room.

* * *

After that, Jaeha went to a dungeon once a day. He deliberately sought out dungeons with some difficulty to get used to the sword. Continuing to clear dungeons like that, Jaeha eventually became familiar with the sword.

‘For now, I just need to find one usable martial art for Seungho, a healer skill to give Sia, and a ranged dealer skill.’

With his thoughts organized, Jaeha started looking up videos on his cell phone. The skill Seungho had learned was Heavenly Demon Divine Art. Since it was a demonic art, he needed to find a weapon skill that fell under the demonic category. After searching the demonic arts side for a while, Jaeha found a video that caught his interest.

‘[The monster from Chinese legends, the Corpse Puppet]’

Jaeha hesitated for a moment after finding the video.

‘A jiangshi, huh……’

Jaeha thought about it for a moment. Then, deciding it would be fun, he played the video. Not long after, the video ended and a skill was created.

[Corpse Puppetry]

[Rank: Legendary]

[A martial art once used by the leader of a heretical cult]

[Mechanism: Total Ability × 4000]

[Proficiency: 45%]

[Congratulations. The skill has received a synergy bonus and its proficiency has increased.]

“I guess this time it got a synergy with Heavenly Demon Divine Art.”

Jaeha checked, and as he expected, it had received a synergy with Heavenly Demon Divine Art. Then Jaeha checked the Jiangshi Art’s proficiency.

[Jiangshi Art]

[Proficiency: 100%]

“It’s maxed out at 100%.”

Jaeha smiled and thought for a moment.

‘Maybe I should just teach this to Seungho instead.’

But Jaeha soon shook his head. Of course, it could be seen as somewhat related to magic, but no matter how he thought about it, this wasn’t Seungho’s style.

“For now, I’ll try this out later. First, I need to find skills that Seungho and Sia can use.”
