Chapter 146: Not Worth a Single Cut
Chapter 146: Not Worth a Single Cut
“I have already contacted Ji Zifeng. He can lure Jiang Changkong out.”
“Are you sure Ji Zifeng will listen to you?”
“Don’t worry. If Ji Zifeng refuses, I have countless ways to make his Ji family unable to stand their ground in Jiangshui City.”
“Now, what we need to consider is how to kill Jiang Kong.”
“Based on what you said, Jiang Changkong’s combat power is at most mid-stage Star Vault. The only trouble is that minor commander Jiang Haishan.”
“When the time comes, my father will invite Jiang Haishan for tea and lure him away. You just need to kill Jiang Changkong for revenge.”
“…”
Just as he approached the room, Jiang Changkong heard the conversation.
The young master didn’t hear it—the room’s soundproofing was decent, and he didn’t possess Jiang Changkong’s terrifying senses.
“It’s… it’s right here,” the young master stammered, his legs trembling uncontrollably.
Jiang Changkong smiled faintly. “Thanks.”
“N-no problem…”
Thud.
The corpse collapsed. Jiang Changkong pushed open the door.
Inside the room were five people: Chu Yunhe, two young men, and two middle-aged men.
The young men were both at mid-stage Star Vault, while the two middle-aged men were at late-stage Star Vault.
“Tomorrow at seven, we’ll lure Jiang Changkong out, kill him directly, and dispose of the body…”
Creak.
The sound of the door opening abruptly cut off the conversation.
“Who… Jiang Changkong?”
Chu Yunhe was about to erupt in anger, but when he saw who had entered, his expression changed drastically.
Jiang Changkong?
How could he be here?
“He’s Jiang Changkong?” The other four simultaneously darkened their expressions. Had this guy come right to them?
“All useless talk. Since I’m here, come and kill me if you dare.”
Jiang Changkong’s voice was cold.
The four exchanged glances but didn’t rush to act.
If Jiang Changkong dared to come here, could it be that Jiang Haishan was also here?
Chu Yunhe’s gaze fell on the corpse outside the door, his expression turning icy. “Cousin, kill… kill him!”
“Truly cautious.”
Jiang Changkong sighed softly. An invisible wave of Star Power surged, and all five simultaneously lost control, flying toward Jiang Changkong.
“Wh-what’s happening?”
The five screamed in terror. Their bodies were completely out of their control.
Stiff and unable to move an inch, they were manipulated by an invisible force.
Rumble—
With a single thought from Jiang Changkong, a violent surge of Star Power erupted from within him, instantly destroying the room.
The door shattered, the room collapsed, leaving ruins and rubble flying everywhere.
Blazing flames shot into the sky, illuminating the entire Chu family estate as if it were daytime.
Vast Blazing Sun Star Power surged forth, condensing in the air to form a great sun.
Terrifying high temperatures enveloped the entire Chu estate, igniting flammable materials directly.
The roaring flames alarmed everyone in the Chu family.
“What’s happening? Why is there an extra sun?”
“That’s the direction of Young Master Chu Yunhe’s quarters.”
“Hurry over!”
Within Jiang Changkong’s terrifying senses, voices flooded in—some panicked, others filled with rage.
Gush.
Blood poured out. Chu Yunhe and the other four stood rigid, vomiting blood continuously from their mouths.
“You have contact with the eldest Chu? Which province is he in?” Jiang Changkong asked indifferently.
Chu Yunhe felt the force restraining him weaken slightly, allowing him to move a little.
After vomiting another mouthful of blood, his expression turned ferocious. “Jiang Changkong, how dare you break into my Chu family and commit murder within the city? You’re dead.
Even Jiang Haishan won’t be able to protect you!”
“Do you think the Chu family will survive tonight?” Jiang Changkong replied coldly.
“You…”
“I don’t listen to useless talk. Either answer my question, or die.”
Jiang Changkong’s voice was icy.
“You must be insane…”
“Tsk, can’t understand plain speech.”
Jiang Changkong raised his palm and pressed it down on Chu Yunhe’s crown.
A surge of Star Power, and his breath ceased.
The four beside him watched this scene in terror, their bodies trembling uncontrollably, desperate to flee, yet bound by an invisible force too powerful to break.
Even at their utmost exertion, their Star Power could not contend with this restraint.
“Yunhe…”
A hoarse, desperate cry tore through the air as a man with half-gray hair stared wide-eyed, his gaze filled with fury.
“Kill him! Avenge Yunhe!”
The Chu family arrived just in time to witness this, roaring madly as their Star Power erupted, boiling with murderous intent.
“The Chu family.”
Jiang Changkong’s expression remained indifferent as he sighed softly. “Not worth a single stroke.”
Boom!
The blazing sun suspended high above trembled, then violently exploded, transforming into streaks of firelight like heavenly flames descending to annihilate the world.
Rumble—
The flames fell, more terrifying than military fire, with ferocious Star Power and boundless heat waves enveloping the entire Chu estate.
The earth cracked, the ground scorched black, and the charging crowd was instantly decimated, with casualties mounting rapidly.
“Kill!”
A fierce shout echoed as several middle-aged men channeled their Star Power, attempting to withstand the flames.
Boom!
Yet, they could not even manage to resist. The flames devoured everything, turning them into human torches in the blink of an eye.
“Agh…”
Piercing, agonized screams resounded throughout the Chu estate, even carrying beyond its walls.
Outside, Jiang Haishan wore a grave expression. Behind him, aside from a small squad of personal guards, stood over a dozen Martial Artists.
Nearby residents had already been driven away by Jiang Haibo and his men, and the area around the Chu estate was completely sealed off.
These Martial Artists were not from the military but residents of Jiangshui City, each with their own influence in the city and long oppressed by the Chu family in daily life.
Ji Zifeng looked tense, a hint of anxiety in his eyes. Unaware of Jiang Changkong’s exact strength, he worried about the situation inside.
The group behind him were close allies he had gathered. As for the others, upon hearing they were targeting the Chu family, they had long since distanced themselves, hanging up calls and refusing to meet.
“Wait. Changkong is very powerful,” Jiang Haishan murmured softly.
He was not concerned for Jiang Changkong’s safety but troubled by how to handle the aftermath.
“Hmm,” Ji Zifeng responded heavily.
After a moment of silence, Jiang Haishan added, “Clean up thoroughly later, and don’t involve anyone else. Divide the spoils properly, and avoid any chaos.”
“Commander, you’re being too optimistic. We don’t even know the situation inside yet,” Ji Zifeng said with a bitter smile.
Before it’s even over, you’re already instructing me to leave no traces and divide the spoils?
Boom!
Suddenly, a deafening explosion erupted.
Star Power shot straight into the sky, forming a Starforce Beam that clashed fiercely with the suspended blazing sun.
Rumble—
The two forces of Star Power collided violently, their terrifying energies intertwining as rampant shockwaves caused surrounding buildings to crumble wildly.
“Who said the Chu family is not worth a single stroke?”
A cold, aged voice echoed, causing Ji Zifeng and the others outside to tense simultaneously. “The Chu family patriarch?”
“Stay calm,” Jiang Haishan said composedly.
Jiang Changkong was someone who could force the Star Spirit of a Major Province to submit obediently.
Even if the Chu family patriarch had broken through to the Star Spirit level, it would change nothing.
Within the Chu estate courtyard, the flames of the blazing sun were blocked, and under the impact of the Starforce Beam, the sun dissipated into the night sky.
Jiang Changkong paid it no mind—this was merely a casually conjured blazing sun, nothing significant.
A hunchbacked old man, dressed in black with his hands clasped behind his back, emerged from the darkness.
His body radiated boundless starlight, shimmering brilliantly. Though hunched over, he carried an imposing, mountain-like presence.
Star Power danced around him, rising and falling as if possessing a spirit of its own.
Jiang Changkong showed a hint of surprise, but quickly returned to calm indifference. “The patriarch of the Chu family? A Star Spirit, yet still not worth a single strike.”
“What arrogance! Prepare to die!”
A sword light shot toward the heavens, azure as the sea. Star Power converged, forming a massive sword beam.
The beam seemed condensed from an entire ocean, its Star Power densely concentrated, yet it emitted the roaring sound of crashing waves.
“Blazing Sun.”
With a calm utterance, Blazing Sun Star Power surged from within Jiang Changkong, transforming once more into a great sun that clashed head-on with the sword beam.
Hum
Where the great sun passed, there was no terrifying explosion—only silence. The sword beam began to disintegrate.
As if evaporated, it turned into white mist and vanished into the Void.
Under the horrified gaze of the hunched elder, the great sun engulfed him. There was no scream, no other commotion—only ashes left in its wake.
