Chapter 206: It’s You…

Chapter 206: It's You…

The next day, Jiang Changkong continued studying Star Script.

Heng Xueyue still needed to make some preparations. Two days later, she wasn’t confident about the people the other side had invited.

Although Jiang Changkong was strong, this guy only cared about Star Stones.

What if he saw that she wasn’t strong enough and decided to raise his price at the last minute?

Her Star Stones hadn’t come easily either—she had to prove herself!

As a young prodigy of the Heng family, she had her own pride.

Jiang Changkong paid no attention to these matters, only knowing that there would be a fierce battle in two days.

Professor Yun said she would make some preparations. All he saw was Professor Yun burying things near the research institute’s base. He didn’t know what they were, but he was certain they weren’t weapons.

However, seeing how relaxed they were, Jiang Changkong stopped worrying and focused on studying Star Script.

The major factions were also gathering Star Stones to hand over to Xu Xingheng.

Yao Meng and Nantian Pang had also moved over. As for Li Changtian and Ji Chengming, he couldn’t be bothered with them.

Those two could never be friends.

Two days passed quickly. It was a calm period, as the major factions restrained themselves and didn’t take action.

In the evening, Heng Xueyue sent a message: at the Heng family base, Heng Xuanqing and Heng De had left, while Heng Xinming and Heng Yongxing stayed behind to guard it.

“Go ahead if you have something to do,” Professor Yun said calmly. “No one here can harm me or Ruoxi.”

Jiang Changkong frowned. “I’ll deal with the major factions first, then go. It won’t be too late.”

“You’re overthinking it.”

With a casual remark, Professor Yun produced two sets of battle armor. “Top-tier sixth rank.”

“Not enough,” Jiang Changkong shook his head.

“What about adding this?”

Professor Yun held out a transparent sphere, identical to the ones she had buried earlier.

“What’s the use of this?” Jiang Changkong asked, puzzled.

“Try attacking it,” Professor Yun said with a smile.

Jiang Changkong raised his palm, and a stream of golden Star Power shot out.

Hum

The golden Star Power flew out but lost control, changing direction and being absorbed into the sphere.

The transparent sphere now carried a faint golden hue.

Jiang Changkong exclaimed in shock, “This thing can absorb Star Power?”

“How do you think our research institute has stood firm all these years without some tricks?” Professor Yun said with cold pride. “If I didn’t want to return to the city, I would have brought out the mecha.”

Jiang Changkong: “…”

Suddenly, he realized that the most formidable one was her.

Mecha!

Having stayed at the research institute these past few days, Jiang Changkong had learned what level mechas belonged to.

To be called a mecha, it had to be at least high-tier quality!

A high-tier mecha was equivalent to a High-Rank Martial Artist. Bringing out a mecha was simply bullying others.

He hadn’t made a mistake in recognizing this teacher—she had the strength to overpower him completely.

Wiping a cold sweat internally, Jiang Changkong hesitated no longer and left the research institute.

Heng Xuanqing and Heng De left the Heng family base and headed out of the abyss.

Xu Xingheng left the Xu family, not joining the other faction leaders in attacking the research institute.

He quickened his pace to meet up with Heng Xuanqing and the other.

“Sir,” Xu Xingheng said respectfully.

Heng Xuanqing nodded slightly. “Did you bring all the Star Stones?”

“They’re all here,” Xu Xingheng replied, taking out a ring and handing it over.

Heng Xuanqing checked it and nodded in satisfaction. “Good, let’s go. We’ll pick them up, then kill Jiang Changkong.”

“Sir, since Heng Xueyue is already dead, the Heng family will surely not let Jiang Changkong go. Why do we need to go through the trouble of killing him ourselves?” Xu Xingheng asked, somewhat confused.

“Because one of the people coming wants Jiang Changkong dead.

To conceal his identity, everyone here besides us must die.”

Heng Xuanqing’s expression was icy cold. “Remember, when we take action later, even if you recognize the identity of the person, don’t utter a single word. Otherwise, even I won’t be able to save you.”

“Yes,” Xu Xingheng replied with a stern and respectful tone.

Yet in his heart, he was puzzled. Recognize the identity? Who among the people he knew could kill Jiang Changkong?

Absolutely no one!

Boom!

Suddenly, a shocking wave of cold erupted, the earth cracked, and a long sword shot through the air, blocking the path of the three.

“Taiyin Star Power? Jiang Changyue?” The expressions of all three changed simultaneously.

“My dear third uncle, Uncle De, has it been so long that you can’t even recognize your own niece?”

A cold voice echoed as Heng Xueyue, with a bright moon hovering above her head and surrounded by a sky full of chilling air, stepped forward.

Wherever she passed, everything froze, and the surroundings transformed into a silvery-white space.

“Xueyue, how could it be you?” The three were astounded, and Heng Xuanqing spoke in disbelief. “Impossible. I checked—your life force had already been extinguished at that time.”

“Without becoming a prodigy, how much could your sister have told you?”

Heng Xueyue stood with her hands behind her back, her expression icy to the extreme. “Why did you try to kill me?”

“Go ask in hell. Since you’re not dead, let me, your uncle, personally send you to your death!” Heng Xuanqing shouted coldly.

“You’ve forgotten about me, the guild leader.”

A sinister voice echoed as a blazing sun descended from the sky. Jiang Changkong descended from the air, unleashing boundless scorching flames that turned the surroundings into a sea of fire.

“You two…” Heng Xuanqing and the other two were horrified. How did these two end up together?

“Jiang Changkong, capture them alive,” Heng Xueyue said coldly.

“Alright.”

Jiang Changkong agreed and stepped forward like a streak of golden light, his palm descending to envelop them.

“Fight! Hold on! At their speed, they’ll be here soon,” Heng Xuanqing urged, channeling the Star Power within him and unleashing it in a vast surge.

“Unfortunately, you won’t last even a second.”

Jiang Changkong sneered, his palm striking down.

Thud!

Crackle!

A violent explosion erupted as the fierce palm force swept through. All three spat blood and were sent flying, their bones shattered, collapsing in front of Heng Xueyue like mud.

“Third Uncle, can you tell me now?”

Heng Xueyue looked down at the three, her expression indifferent. “Who ordered you to do this? How could you even lay hands on your own niece?”

“Kill me if you must,” Heng Xuanqing said with a dark expression. “They’ll be here soon. Neither you nor Jiang Changkong will survive.”

“Heng De, the Heng family has treated you well, and I’ve always addressed you respectfully as Uncle De. Is this how you repay me and the Heng family?”

Heng Xueyue turned her gaze to Heng De.

Heng De closed his eyes and sighed. “Miss, I once addressed Miss Moxuan the same way.”

“So it’s because of my aunt?” Heng Xueyue’s expression remained cold. “Back then, she brought it upon herself, strayed onto the wrong path, and was imprisoned in the Sin Domain. She deserved it!”

Heng Xuanqing remained silent, offering no defense.

“This doesn’t seem to have anything to do with Heng Xueyue, does it? If she deserved it, why are you blaming Heng Xueyue?”

Jiang Changkong walked over. If Heng Xuanqing had defended himself a little, even if his mind was twisted into thinking it was related to Heng Xueyue, their actions might still be understandable.

But now, Heng Xuanqing offered no explanation, clearly acknowledging that his sister had strayed onto the wrong path.

So why did they still target Heng Xueyue?

“Uncle De, tell me, what have I done to wrong you?” Heng Xueyue asked again.

“Miss, I…”

Heng De opened his mouth, but was ultimately interrupted by Heng Xuanqing’s soft sigh: “Xueyue, Third Uncle is sorry. I can only exchange your life for your aunt’s freedom.”

Heng Xueyue was taken aback, blurting out: “Freedom?”

Locked in the Sin Domain, what freedom could there be?

In her shock and doubt, two powerful auras swept over, shattering the solid ice and shaking the ground.

Two figures, clad in black and masked, their heads bowed low, slowly approached.

“Who are you?”

Heng Xueyue’s expression changed, and she quickly retreated to Jiang Changkong’s side. From these two, she sensed an immense pressure.

No, it should be one of them—the pressure emanating from one was terrifyingly strong, even slightly surpassing what Jiang Changkong had given her.

As for the other, though their aura was also formidable, it was far inferior to Jiang Changkong’s. With adequate preparation, she felt she still had some chance.

“It’s you…”

Xu Xingheng, limp as mud, now widened his eyes in disbelief, staring at one of the black-clad figures.
