Chapter 256: I’m Going to Wipe Out Your Entire Clan!
Chapter 256: I'm Going to Wipe Out Your Entire Clan!
Those who can come to the War Palace are basically all at the Star Body Peak; those below the peak are prohibited by the Federation from coming.
Yao Qing and his group surrounded two middle-aged individuals, a man and a woman.
The man was named Lin Feng, with short hair draped over his shoulders and a cold expression.
The woman was named Huo Qinglan, her face veiled by a light gauze, making her features indistinct. She wore blue attire. Both were from the Federation.
Jiang Changkong made a bold guess: these two were likely Star Saint-level Martial Artists.
“What do these Star Scripts say? I’ve only recently started learning Star Script and am not very familiar with it,” Jiang Changkong said.
Yao Qing pointed to one of the Star Scripts: “These were left by the supreme powerhouses, the Near-Deities.”
“Near-Deities?” Jiang Changkong asked curiously, “What level of Martial Artist is that?”
“The highest level. Above Star Saint, there are three major realms: Star Dao, Star Saint, and Near-God. We prefer to call them Near-Deities,” Yao Qing explained. “Near-God is the strongest level of Martial Artist in the Federation, and they are the closest to gods. According to the information recorded in the Star Scripts, Near-God Martial Artists are infinitely close to the legendary Celestial Gods.”
Infinitely close to the legendary Celestial Gods?
Wouldn’t that make them living gods?
Jiang Changkong muttered to himself inwardly, then asked, “So what is written on these Star Scripts?”
“They are all Near-God powerhouses who came here seeking the opportunities of the Celestial Gods, and they left their names as well. Only Near-God powerhouses can leave their names here. We’ve all tried and couldn’t do it,” Yao Qing said, his expression slightly excited. “So many Near-God powerhouses came here—there must be immense opportunities here.”
I haven’t seen any immense opportunities, but I’ve certainly witnessed immense terror.
Only Near-Deities can leave their names, and leaving their names means they’ll be collected as corpses!
Jiang Changkong now felt a chill run down his spine because, on the second floor above, lay nothing but Near-Deities.
He counted roughly over a hundred of them.
If they were to come out, they wouldn’t just flatten the Sin Domain—they’d flatten Earth.
“Can I leave first?” Jiang Changkong’s face twitched, not daring to think further.
“No,” Lin Feng said coldly. “You’re the only one who’s been up there. We’ll need your experience later.”
What experience? I have no damn experience. Do you want some ghostly experience?
Jiang Changkong rolled his eyes and said nothing more, watching as they studied the Star Scripts.
“These Near-Deities all took something from the War Palace back then and then left,” Yao Qing said, looking at the Star Scripts excitedly. “These are all powerhouses from other planets, proving once again that besides Star Demons, there are other living beings on other planets.”
“Couldn’t they be from ancient Earth?”
Jiang Changkong muttered. It was hard to say for sure—with three palaces, the Moon Laurel Tree, and the Golden Crow all present, what if they really were ancient Earthlings?
Yao Qing stiffened slightly. “That possibility can’t be ruled out. It’s a pity we can’t meet them. What a great regret.”
You wouldn’t regret it. Just go up to the second floor, and they’ll all be sitting there, ready for you to look at as much as you want.
Jiang Changkong thought silently to himself.
“Those who left their names sought the opportunities of the Celestial Gods and left behind the martial arts they had mastered,” Yao Qing continued.
“Martial arts? Near-God Martial Arts?” All twenty-three people exclaimed in excitement at once.
Jiang Changkong felt no excitement, only regret.
Why couldn’t he learn Star Script instantly? Near-God Martial Arts were far more valuable than the Star Array diagrams he had obtained.
What Immortal Scripture fragments? They were all just nonsense.
“There’s nothing of value here besides the Star Scripts. Let’s go up,” Lin Feng said.
“Alright, this place is empty anyway, with nothing else here.”
The other Martial Artists turned their gazes upward. The Near-God Martial Arts must be up there!
Celestial Gods’ opportunity, plus a Near-God Martial Art—if this news spread, it would surely drive the entire Federation mad.
Jiang Changkong remained silent and followed them upstairs again.
After all, he wasn’t taking anything, just looking around. There shouldn’t be any problem.
Moreover, these people wouldn’t easily let him leave.
The group ascended to the second floor and looked at the rows of blood-red rooms, none of them acting rashly.
Lin Feng turned his gaze to him. “Jiang Changkong, you’ve been here before. Tell us about it.”
Yao Qing and the others also looked at him, waiting for him to speak.
“These blood doors are portals condensed from Blood Qi. There are over a hundred in total, and inside are all corpses,” Jiang Changkong said calmly.
A cold smile appeared in Lin Feng’s eyes. “Corpses? What about treasures?”
“Treasures? There are no treasures,” Jiang Changkong replied indifferently.
“You took them yourself, didn’t you?” a middle-aged man sneered, his power pushing back the surrounding Blood Qi.
Although this Blood Qi Palace was eerie, it was nothing to these Martial Artists at the Star Body Peak or even stronger.
Jiang Changkong smiled faintly. “I’ve already said, only one item can be taken here. I’ve already taken a Star Array and can’t take anything else.”
“Nonsense! How many items can be taken is just what you say,” the middle-aged man said coldly.
“May I ask your name, brother?” Jiang Changkong asked politely, cupping his hands.
“What? You want to remember me so you can come after me when you’re strong enough?” the middle-aged man scoffed. “Remember this: Sheng Jin, Jin Hansheng!”
“Brother, you misunderstand. I don’t want to cause trouble for you,” Jiang Changkong said with a smile. “I want to wipe out your entire family!”
“You…”
“Enough!” Yao Qing snorted coldly, cutting off Jin Hansheng. “Changkong is an ally of our three families. If you want to move against him, you’ll have to answer to us first.”
Huo Qinglan said calmly, “Alright, I believe Changkong. Besides, Changkong has been up here before. Please, Changkong, give us an introduction.”
Jin Hansheng’s gaze turned cold as he glared at Jiang Changkong, suppressing his killing intent. “I’ll spare you for now.”
Jiang Changkong’s eyes flickered, and he ignored him. He and Sheng Jin were old enemies.
He was the only High-Rank Martial Artist in the entire Federation who practiced body refinement.
Here, he received preferential treatment. These people didn’t dare to kill him easily, and with the relationship between the three families, he wasn’t afraid of Jin Hansheng.
“I’ve said it—they’re all corpses, and every room is the same. Go see for yourselves.”
Jiang Changkong paused before adding, “They’re all the remains of predecessors. I think it would be best for everyone to pay their respects. It never hurts to be polite.”
Lin Feng’s gaze shifted slightly as he glanced at Jin Hansheng.
Jin Hansheng’s expression turned cold. “Stop pretending to be mysterious. You go in first.”
Jiang Changkong shrugged and walked over. First, he cupped his hands and bowed. “Disturbing you again is truly unavoidable. Please forgive me, seniors.”
Having witnessed the corpses that had sprung to life earlier, Jiang Changkong didn’t dare to act recklessly again.
As he said, it never hurts to be polite. Better to bow first.
After paying his respects, Jiang Changkong entered the Blood Qi portal, where a corpse sat cross-legged, and then retreated.
There was no Three-Colored Stone Pearl, and nothing troubled him here. He didn’t know if it was because of his respectful gesture.
Jiang Changkong walked out. “It’s fine. I’ll continue paying my respects. I forgot to do so earlier.”
With that, he proceeded to bow to the other portals on his own.
Yao Qing, Heng Xi, and Nan Zhaokong also bowed.
Huo Qinglan stepped forward, paid her respects as well, and then entered to examine the corpses.
Seeing that they were all fine, the others followed them inside.
Some joined in the worship, while others did not.
After Jiang Changkong finished paying his respects, he observed the others.
Huo Qinglan, Yao Qing, and the other two worshiped with great sincerity, and not just once.
They had worshiped outside the door, and after entering, they bowed once more.
By comparison, Jiang Changkong realized that he was not as reverent toward these Near-God corpses as they were.
Just as he was hesitating whether to bow again, a sudden change occurred.
Hum
A green light emanated from the middle-aged woman’s corpse that Huo Qinglan had been worshiping, directly entering her forehead.
Huo Qinglan’s body trembled, her eyes glowed with an azure light, and she bowed deeply once more.
