Chapter 298: You’re Very Brave
Chapter 298: You're Very Brave
Boom
Within the Ancient Ruins, two figures clashed.
Although Jiang Changkong was unarmed, he showed no fear of Jin Guangxuan.
Meanwhile, Jin Guangxuan, with his metal-attribute Star Power, had reached the pinnacle, possessing earth-shattering power.
Golden stars, like countless sword rays converging, sharp sword energy tore through the heavens and earth.
“White Clouds.”
Jiang Changkong raised a palm, and the White Clouds Stellar Body manifested. Boundless white clouds spread across the sky, engulfing both of them.
“These white clouds can’t hide you!”
Jin Guangxuan shouted coldly, his sharp sword light piercing through the clouds.
Overwhelming blood energy scattered, connecting with the Star Array, pressing down with invisible force following closely.
Clang
The long sword trembled as Jin Guangxuan’s golden long sword released starlight, forming a star that rapidly expanded. “Let’s see if your clouds can block this star.”
Jiang Changkong unleashed the Holy Sun Stellar Body, combining it with the Power Pattern War Body.
The sky filled with sunset glow, dyeing the white clouds red and transforming them into blade rays.
Blade rays and endless fist force simultaneously struck the star.
Boom
Starlight surged, shaking the clouds and sweeping across a hundred miles.
The star shattered, blade rays disintegrated, and invisible force dissipated.
Jiang Changkong retreated repeatedly, his expression darkening. Jin Guangxuan’s strength was even greater than he had anticipated.
If he were to use Taiyin and Taiyang, he might be able to suppress him slightly.
Jin Guangxuan had also gauged Jiang Changkong’s strength, his expression turning grave. “At the Star Body Peak, with such combat power, I must kill you today!”
“You’re still far from it.”
Jiang Changkong snorted coldly, unleashing the Force Pattern Star Array and invisible fist force once again.
Jin Guangxuan twisted his sword, its light shattering the invisible fist force as the sword light pierced through the clouds.
Sensory information flooded in, and Jiang Changkong shifted his position. The sunset blade struck once more, with invisible fist force and Taiji following closely.
Boom
The two powerhouses collided, vast starlight shaking half of the Ancient Ruins. Both were thrown back, blood trickling from the corners of their mouths.
Even with the Three Great Star Bodies and Qiankun Shift, he could only fight this opponent to a draw.
Without hesitation, the two clashed again. Both were masters, unafraid of injuries.
With their regenerative abilities, regrowing severed limbs was no issue, and minor wounds were of no concern.
As the two fought fiercely, deep underground, Jiang Jiuqiao collected everything.
“This time, I’ve truly struck it rich. There are even tenth-tier Star Crystals, along with ninth-tier ones.”
Jiang Jiuqiao looked at the Star Crystals, his face filled with excitement.
This haul was richer than any he had ever obtained before.
“Hurry and pack up, then go help Changkong. Jin Guangxuan is no weakling even among mid-stage Stars.”
Jiang Jiuqiao also collected Liu Bing’s Spatial Equipment.
As he prepared to leave, a stone bead rolled out from a shattered statue, emitting a faint glow.
“What’s this?” Jiang Jiuqiao pocketed the stone bead, unable to discern anything unusual for the moment, and leaped upward.
However, as soon as he emerged, he was stunned. The sky was shrouded in white clouds, making it impossible to see what was happening inside.
Boom
From within the white clouds came rumbling sounds, like muffled thunder.
Boundless Star Power scattered, repelling Jiang Jiuqiao, who had intended to join the fight.
“The strength of these two…”
Jiang Jiuqiao smiled bitterly, realizing he couldn’t intervene at all.
Roar
Power Runes roared, the Holy Sun shone brightly, and Taiji shifted.
Golden stars rotated, countless sword rays converging.
Two ultimate moves, terrifying and chilling, shook the clouds and stirred the Void.
Golden Blood continuously dripped from the clouds like a rain of blood.
Ignoring his injuries, Jiang Changkong relentlessly attacked Jin Guangxuan with fists and blades.
Jin Guangxuan was equally ferocious, his golden long sword unleashing terrifying sword rays.
Boom
Crack
The sword radiance descended, shattering the Star Power and nearly severing Jiang Changkong’s left arm. Yet he too was not faring well—Jiang Changkong’s fist had almost shattered his internal organs.
The relentless clashes, the unyielding slaughter.
From the thick clouds at the beginning, they fought until not a single white cloud remained.
No one knew how long the battle had lasted. Both men were covered in wounds, gasping heavily for breath.
Jin Guangxuan looked weary and considerably weakened. “Why don’t we split the gains fifty-fifty and call it quits?”
Jiang Changkong’s face was pale, and he too was in a sorry state. Yet, a murderous gleam flashed in his eyes. “I want to kill you!”
“Fool! If we keep fighting like this, we’ll both be crippled. I don’t believe you truly trust Jiang Jiuqiao,” Jin Guangxuan roared angrily.
“I trust him, and I trust myself,” Jiang Changkong said fiercely. “Only one of us will walk out of here alive—and that will be me!”
Without hesitation, he surged with Star Power once more and charged at Jin Guangxuan.
Below, Jiang Jiuqiao’s aged face showed emotion as vast flames erupted from his body. “Changkong, I’ll help you.”
“No need. It’s not yet time for you to join the fight,” Jiang Changkong said coldly.
“Even if I’m heavily injured, he’s not qualified to intervene!” Jin Guangxuan roared, summoning golden stars once more.
“White Clouds.”
Jiang Changkong conjured white clouds again, not for combat but to obscure directions and prevent Jin Guangxuan from escaping.
If this guy fled, all his efforts would have been in vain.
Boom
A new round of slaughter began. The two figures collided once more, adding fresh wounds to their bodies.
Amidst the clouds, sword radiance and blade light clashed, scattering residual energy. Jiang Jiuqiao hastily retreated.
As wave after wave of power collided, both men’s energy reserves dwindled, and their auras gradually weakened.
Another clash—a longsword pierced through a body, a fist tore through a chest.
“If we keep fighting, you’ll definitely die first,” Jin Guangxuan spat out, blood gushing from his mouth, his entire appearance twisted and ferocious.
“Not necessarily.”
Jiang Changkong also coughed up blood, yet his expression remained eerily calm.
The sword withdrew from his body, the fist pulled back from his chest, and both men’s injuries began to heal rapidly.
With another crash, they collided once more and were sent flying backward simultaneously.
Golden Blood scattered, piercing through the clouds.
“It’s about time.”
Jiang Changkong murmured to himself. Now, both of them were heavily wounded.
One more strike at this moment.
With that thought, Jiang Changkong lunged forward again.
Jin Guangxuan’s expression turned icy. “This time, I’ll take your life.”
The sword tip shifted, aiming straight for Jiang Changkong’s heart.
As the two rapidly closed in, at the moment of impact, the sword suddenly veered toward his throat.
Yet Jiang Changkong seemed to have anticipated this. His body abruptly swelled—Three-meter Golden Body!
Eight Power Runes roared out like ropes, binding Jin Guangxuan.
A small sapling swayed, countless roots extending and burrowing into Jin Guangxuan’s body.
“You think I came unprepared?” Jin Guangxuan sneered. A gray medicinal herb flew out, quickly dissolving into liquid and merging into his body.
Boom
Instantly, his soul power surged, and a powerful killing intent rushed toward the roots. “I too have a soul-killing move!”
Jiang Changkong: “…”
You have courage. Do you even know what a Soul-Stabilizing Tree is?
Jiang Changkong never expected Jin Guangxuan to have such a hidden card—and such a talent for courting death.
If he had known, he would have used this move long ago. Did this guy really think those two old ghosts didn’t have soul-killing techniques?
Jin Guangxuan’s soul rapidly swelled, unleashing a powerful Soul Resonance as he seized the roots of the Soul-Stabilizing Tree.
Then, the expanded soul swiftly withered, soon returning to its original state.
Within a few breaths, Jin Guangxuan’s soul grew transparent and unstable, trembling violently.
“What… what kind of monstrous thing is this…”
Jin Guangxuan cried out in terror. His soul-killing technique had actually become nourishment?
Jiang Changkong very much wanted to answer his question, but unfortunately, Jin Guangxuan could no longer hear him.
