Chapter 14 – Keep Talking Nonsense and I’ll Drain You Dry!

Chapter 14 – Keep Talking Nonsense and I'll Drain You Dry!

There exists a relationship of varying degrees of adaptability and compatibility between human and Phantom Demon bloodlines.

As mentioned before, only after consuming the Phantom Demon Potion and being able to adapt to its power—taking the Phantom Demon blood’s strength within the potion as their own and fully integrating it into themselves—can humans become Hunters possessing Phantom Demon Power.

Under such circumstances, the blood of some humans who exhibit extremely high adaptability and compatibility with Phantom Demons naturally holds great allure for these beings, who feed on blood and view it as a source of power.

Xu Qianqian has inherited the Phantom Demons’ craving for blood and, logically, has become the same way.

Now, according to Xu Qianqian, Su Ming’s blood seems to hold a certain degree of attraction for her.

In other words…

“Your blood likely has very high adaptability and compatibility with me, and even with my family’s Phantom Demon Bloodline.”

Xu Qianqian explained this to Su Ming.

“That’s why, after encountering you, the bloodline within me has become restless.”

It was precisely for this reason that Xu Qianqian noticed Su Ming and began paying attention to him.

Upon learning the truth, Su Ming’s lips twitched slightly, and he felt utterly unsettled.

So, this female vampire was drawn to him because she craved his body?

Unaware of Su Ming’s current feelings, Xu Qianqian casually glanced around.

“That night, I bit your wrist and unconsciously drank a bit of your blood. Not only did all my injuries heal completely, but I also felt an unprecedented satisfaction, along with a faint, familiar craving and restlessness.”

At this point, it became clear why Xu Qianqian had realized that the person who appeared here that night and clashed with her while she was out of control was Su Ming.

She had identified him through the taste and craving for his blood.

Given this, Xu Qianqian could confidently say:

“Others might be fooled by your tricks, but I’m different.”

Simply because Su Ming’s blood held extraordinary significance for this Academy Beauty.

“Honestly, I’m quite surprised,” Xu Qianqian said to Su Ming. “I never expected that you, who I initially thought was just an ordinary, unremarkable student, would possess such a level of strength.”

Even though she had somewhat lost her rationality, Xu Qianqian still remembered clearly how Su Ming had toyed with her that night.

Despite being severely injured and in poor mental condition at the time, the fact that Su Ming had defeated her using the most basic techniques still proved his capability.

Due to her background, Xu Qianqian had interacted with many Sorcerers since childhood, even sparring with them numerous times. Among them were some highly powerful Sorcerers, and she had suffered defeats at their hands more than once. However, being so thoroughly defeated by someone her own age was undoubtedly a first for Xu Qianqian.

Therefore, she initially estimated that Su Ming’s strength should be on par with hers, capable of ranking within the top three of a department.

Xu Qianqian herself is a top student in the Hunter Department, consistently securing a place in the top three.

As for Su Ming, it’s highly likely he has the strength to compete for a top-three position in the Sorcerer Department, if not higher. This greatly surprised Xu Qianqian, who thought she understood Su Ming and had been observing him for a long time.

Yet at the same time, Xu Qianqian felt somewhat puzzled.

“Since you possess this level of strength, why are you content to remain ordinary and be an unknown nobody at the Academy?”

Xu Qianqian clearly didn’t understand much about social niceties, voicing all the doubts in her heart without reservation.

“What strength are you talking about?” Naturally, Su Ming wouldn’t admit to anything. After figuring out why Xu Qianqian had noticed him, he immediately became evasive, saying, “If you hadn’t been off your game that night, I definitely wouldn’t have been able to accomplish what I did.”

“Really?” Xu Qianqian narrowed her eyes.

“Of course.” Su Ming nodded emphatically, speaking with great sincerity, “Otherwise, why would I have only used such low-sequence Spirit Arts that entire night?”

The implication was that he hadn’t been holding back on purpose – he genuinely could only use such low-sequence Spirit Arts.

Since he had used such low-sequence Spirit Arts, didn’t that clearly make him a rookie?

Su Ming hinted at this, intending to eliminate Xu Qianqian’s curiosity.

Unfortunately…

“I don’t believe you.”

Xu Qianqian’s attitude was always this straightforward.

“If you don’t believe me, there’s nothing I can do.”

Su Ming maintained a smiling expression.

After realizing that Xu Qianqian didn’t have an accurate understanding of his true strength, Su Ming felt completely relieved.

As long as his real capabilities remained hidden, he could brush this off.

After all, hadn’t he barely used any high-sequence Spirit Arts that night, relying almost entirely on basic moves?

This was proof of his mediocrity!

See? He really was a clever little schemer!

Xu Qianqian stared intently at Su Ming, trying to see through him, but naturally failed.

However, Xu Qianqian didn’t seem to mind.

“Whether you want to admit it or not, I’ll keep watching you.”

This young woman seemed determined to confront Su Ming head-on.

Su Ming’s smile instantly became strained.

Damn, was she planning to keep an eye on him from now on?

Wouldn’t that mean he couldn’t secretly do those embarrassing things anymore?

This wouldn’t do!

Immediately, Su Ming prepared to have a serious talk with this female vampire, to make her abandon this dangerous intention quickly.

However, Xu Qianqian changed the subject first.

“Why were you here that night?”

Xu Qianqian asked very abruptly.

“What about you?” Su Ming’s attention was successfully diverted, but instead of answering, he countered, “How did you suddenly appear here?”

“I was following that Suspicious Group,” Xu Qianqian didn’t hide anything, explaining, “I’ve been tracking them for a long time.”

Why?

Su Ming almost asked this aloud.

But after thinking carefully, he stopped himself.

After all, he had already chosen to selectively ignore that night’s encounter and that Suspicious Group to avoid unnecessary trouble. Since that was the case, why actively involve himself in this matter now?

It was better not to ask anything and remain ignorant.

“This matter actually relates to my mission…”

At this moment, Xu Qianqian was preparing to explain.

“Stop!”

Su Ming immediately called out to halt her.

“What’s wrong?”

Xu Qianqian was taken aback.”Nothing.” Su Ming replied with straightforward bluntness. “I just think that since this is your mission, it must involve important secrets and confidential matters. Such crucial information shouldn’t be shared with an insignificant side character like me, don’t you agree?”

Hearing this, even someone as composed and direct as Xu Qianqian found herself momentarily speechless.

“But I…”

Xu Qianqian furrowed her delicate brows, seeming to want to say more.

“Don’t say it!”

Su Ming immediately cut her off.

“But…”

Xu Qianqian attempted to continue.

“I’m not listening I’m not listening I’m not listening! (」><)」”

Su Ming directly covered his ears, behaving like a petulant young girl.

Xu Qianqian was dumbfounded.

This esteemed Young Miss probably never expected Su Ming to react like this.

Watching Su Ming showing signs of trying to slip away, even the usually cold and elegant Xu Qianqian grew somewhat anxious.

“I need your help!”

Xu Qianqian had no choice but to grab Su Ming’s arm to prevent his escape.

However, Xu Qianqian had underestimated Su Ming’s lack of shame.

“Ouch! You’re hurting me!”

Su Ming cried out like a young girl being roughly handled by a brutish man.

“S-sorry!”

Xu Qianqian, thinking she (as a strong Hunter) had genuinely hurt Su Ming (the delicate Sorcerer), instinctively apologized and released her grip.

“It’s fine, I forgive you.”

Su Ming immediately changed his expression and turned to flee.

“???”

Xu Qianqian’s mind filled with question marks she didn’t know whether to voice.

All she knew was that Su Ming had played her.

“You…”

Even someone as formidable as Xu Qianqian couldn’t help but feel angered now.

Thus, Xu Qianqian moved, abruptly vanishing from her spot.

Su Ming, focused on fleeing, suddenly saw a figure flash before him and reflexively gathered his Spirit Power.

Unexpectedly, before Su Ming could act, Xu Qianqian – who had suddenly appeared before him – moved first.

“Swish!”

Xu Qianqian lightly touched her slender waist and actually untied her sash, whipping it out like a whip.

The scene resembled a celestial maiden gracefully dancing while disrobing, utterly captivating to behold.

Seeing such a sight at such close range, Su Ming naturally felt his heart flutter.

This momentary distraction slowed Su Ming’s movements, making him inwardly curse his delayed reaction in the next second.

“Whoosh!”

Amid the whistling wind, the sash whipped toward him and wrapped around his body the moment his movements stalled.

The sash seemed to transform into genuine ropes, coiling around Su Ming several times before finally binding him securely.

“Damn it!”

Su Ming’s expression changed dramatically as he swore at Xu Qianqian.

“Using feminine wiles to trick me, Xu Qianqian, you’re really something!”

His condemnation sounded utterly righteous, enough to make anyone think Xu Qianqian had actually employed seduction tactics.

“I didn’t!”

Xu Qianqian gripped the sash with one hand, refuting as if angered.

“You did!”

Su Ming declared with certainty, as if determined to cement this accusation.

“I didn’t!” Xu Qianqian continued to refute, adding: “If you keep spouting nonsense, I’ll drain you dry!”At this, Su Ming was left speechless.

With words like that, even if it wasn’t originally a honey trap, it would turn into one, wouldn’t it?

If this girl didn’t have a grudge against him, Su Ming would have really wanted to say, “Come on then.”

The famous Academy Beauty of the Demon Hunter Academy wanted to drain him dry?

Just thinking about it felt thrilling!
