Chapter 6 – The Hell I’m Insulting You!

Chapter 6 – The Hell I'm Insulting You!

“Boom!”

When the sudden outburst shattered the oppressive silence of the scene, a deafening roar abruptly echoed through the moonlit suburbs.

It was an explosion.

From the direction where the shout had just originated, a violent explosion appeared without any warning. Flames erupted as the blast roared, causing the ground to tremble slightly.

“Move!”

The masked leader, who had been standing still waiting for search results, immediately barked a cold command and charged toward the explosion’s origin.

The suspicious figures searching the surroundings promptly turned around, following behind the masked leader as they swiftly rushed toward the blast site.

At this moment, no one in this suspicious group would notice that among them, one person was quietly slipping away in the opposite direction.

This person was naturally the clever and resourceful—Su Ming.

“Perfect opportunity!”

Su Ming decisively seized this excellent chance to escape.

Without hesitation, Su Ming turned around and directly dove into the grassy bushes, preparing to slip away stealthily.

But the next second, Su Ming was shocked.

“Thump!”

The moment Su Ming rushed into the bushes, intense pain and the sound of impact came from the front of his head.

“Ah!”

Simultaneously, a clear cry of pain came from ahead of Su Ming.

There was actually another person hidden in the bushes!

Su Ming had collided head-on with them, and both fell backward to the ground.

In that instant, Su Ming’s mind went completely blank.

Who am I?

Where am I?

What am I doing?

His mind was filled with nothing but question marks.

Meanwhile, the person who collided with Su Ming had only one thought.

“Have I been discovered?”

Once this thought emerged, the next course of action was almost completed subconsciously.

“Swish!”

The other person suddenly stood up, drew a dagger from their lower back, and lunged toward Su Ming like a Demon Shadow in the night.

“Holy fucking shit!”

Stimulated by the sharp sound of wind, Su Ming instantly sobered up. Sensing the Killing Intent emanating from the other person, he didn’t hesitate to curse loudly.

But Su Ming’s movements weren’t slow at all—he immediately extended his hand forward.

Spirit Power surged within his body, rapidly forming a circular array in his hand.

“First Form: Flying Arrow.”

This was the Spell Formula ranked first in the sequence of the hundred Spirit Arts.

In other words, this was the most basic and weakest move among all Spirit Arts.

However, despite being weak and fundamental, this Spirit Art had its merits.

Namely, the speed of constructing this Spell Formula was extremely fast—both activation and release occurred in an instant, making it perfectly suited for emergency counterattacks.

Instantly, an invisible, bullet-like impact burst forth from the circular array.

“Bam!”

Amid the explosive sound, the Attacker charging at Su Ming was sent flying as if they had crashed into an invisible wall, completely caught off guard.

Su Ming quickly rolled over and stood up from the ground.

Only now did Su Ming finally get a clear look at the Attacker’s appearance.

It was actually a student.

A student from the Demon Hunter Academy.

The familiar uniform the other person wore—so familiar it couldn’t be more so—told Su Ming this.

Of course, that wasn’t the most important part. Most importantly, Su Ming recognized the student from the Demon Hunter Academy before him.

Her skin was snow-white, with beautiful long hair tied into a ponytail. Her figure was curvaceous and graceful, tall and slender, with a pair of long legs that were particularly eye-catching. Paired with an exquisite face, she radiated the charm of a young woman in the prime of her youth.

The attacker was unexpectedly such an unbelievably beautiful girl.

“Xu Qianqian?”

Su Ming immediately felt his entire being tense up.

And if Su Ming felt this way, the other party wasn’t faring much better either.

“You know me?”

Xu Qianqian furrowed her delicate brows, enduring the pain coursing through her body as she questioned him.

Su Ming didn’t want to speak.

How could he not know Xu Qianqian?

She was widely regarded as the unattainable flower of the Hunter Department, a descendant of a prestigious family with noble bloodline. She was seen as a future supernova, highly anticipated by the higher-ups of the Demon Hunter Academy and even some officials in the Base City.

Of course, that wasn’t the most important part.

What mattered most was that she was a top student of the Demon Hunter Academy, ranking within the top three in the entire Hunter Department. Her abilities were in no way inferior to those of already-graduated professional Hunters, making her an undisputed elite in both the Academy and the Hunter Department.

It was easy to imagine how famous such a person was within the Academy.

Although Su Ming hadn’t seen her many times, that guy Lei Hao would boast daily about how stunning and popular Xu Qianqian was. During holidays, he would even drag Su Ming and Ye Bai out to buy gifts for her. Sometimes, Su Ming could even hear Lei Hao hiding under his covers, calling out Xu Qianqian’s name while frantically moving about.

Under such circumstances, it was impossible for Su Ming not to know Xu Qianqian.

The problem was…

“What are you doing here?”

Su Ming reflexively asked the question.

Unfortunately, Xu Qianqian didn’t answer him. Instead, she silently exuded a sharp Killing Intent.

Seeing this, Su Ming understood.

This girl had no intention of backing down.

Or rather, she wanted to subdue him first before discussing anything else.

“Wait…”

Su Ming tried to stop her.

But by then, Xu Qianqian had already moved.

“Whoosh!”

With a gust of wind, Xu Qianqian transformed once again into a shadowy Demon Shadow, darting toward Su Ming.

Her speed was incredibly fast—far surpassing Lei Hao’s—and unlike Lei Hao’s thunderous charges, her movements were light and agile, her form elegant. It was clear at a glance that her skills were extraordinary.

An ordinary person would find it nearly impossible to react to such speed.

Fortunately, Su Ming managed to react.

Although Sorcerers didn’t possess the astonishing physique and constitution of Hunters, their spiritual sensitivity was exceptional. They could perceive and even wield elusive forces like Spirit Arts, so their Spirit Sense was nothing to scoff at.

Thus, even if his eyes couldn’t track her movements, his Spirit Sense—akin to a sixth sense—detected the danger and prompted him to react.

Su Ming sensed Xu Qianqian’s rapid approach and, without a second thought, raised his hand, unleashing another impact from 【Flying Arrow】.

“Boom!”

The explosive sound of the shockwave echoed for the second time, stirring up a cloud of dust.

This time, Xu Qianqian evaded the attack of 【Flying Arrow】.With just a light sidestep, she effortlessly evaded the invisible shockwave that exploded against the ground, sending dust flying without ever touching her.

Immediately after, Xu Qianqian closed the distance at astonishing speed, appearing right before Su Ming.

Just as Xu Qianqian prepared to deliver a slashing strike, Su Ming suddenly directed his raised hand toward the ground.

“Boom!”

The explosive sound of a shockwave rang out for the third time.

Su Ming had unleashed the 【Flying Arrow】’s impact against the ground beneath him, kicking up massive clouds of dust.

The billowing dust obscured Su Ming’s figure, startling Xu Qianqian and forcing her to halt her charge abruptly.

At that moment, a figure emerged from the swirling dust, charging straight toward Xu Qianqian.

“You…!?”

Xu Qianqian never expected this suspicious Sorcerer would choose to engage in close combat with a Hunter like her, leaving her momentarily stunned.

By the time she regained her composure, Su Ming was already right in front of her.

“Since you won’t listen to reason, take this face-shattering punch!”

Shouting this, Su Ming swung his fist toward Xu Qianqian’s face.

The speed… was unbearably slow.

At least, that’s how it appeared to Xu Qianqian.

Unavoidably, Su Ming was ultimately a Sorcerer, not a Hunter—his physical abilities were merely average. There was no way his fist could outpace a Hunter’s eyes and reflexes.

“Foolish!”

Xu Qianqian scoffed disdainfully, immediately preparing to swing her dagger and sever the arm reaching toward her.

But then her expression abruptly shifted.

“【First Form: Flying Arrow】.”

Su Ming’s other hand had somehow aimed directly at Xu Qianqian’s abdomen.

Above it, a circular array had already formed, resembling a cannon muzzle pointed straight at her.

“Damn it!”

Xu Qianqian’s face paled instantly.

The next moment, an invisible shockwave detonated against her body.

“Boom!”

Amid the explosion, Xu Qianqian was sent flying once again.

“Cough…!”

She slammed into a tree, a sharp pain shooting through her abdomen that made her cough involuntarily.

“He actually defeated me using only the First Form…!?”

Xu Qianqian couldn’t believe it, or rather, she refused to accept this outcome.

She had fought Sorcerers before, and she had even lost to them. But those who defeated her were either highly experienced, capable of using low-sequence Spirit Arts to overcome her, or they employed high-sequence and varied Spirit Arts against her. Never before had a Sorcerer toyed with her using only the weakest 【Flying Arrow】 like today.

“【Seventh Form: Grey Binding】.”

While Xu Qianqian struggled to accept her defeat, a voice echoed as black ash swept in from all directions.

It surrounded Xu Qianqian, trapping her within a cage of ashes.

“Damn it!”

Xu Qianqian swung her dagger at the ashen prison enclosing her.

“Clang!”

A metallic clang resounded as the sharp blade was deflected by the ash wall, leaving no mark on it.

At this point, Xu Qianqian had no choice but to admit it.

She had lost.

With this realization, a resolute glint flashed in her eyes as she raised her dagger and thrust it toward her own throat.

“Holy shit!”Su Ming’s eyes widened, and he finally couldn’t hold back from cursing aloud.

He quickly extended his hand, releasing an invisible shockwave that sent the dagger flying from Xu Qianqian’s grasp.

But this action only drove Xu Qianqian into a frenzy.

“Villain! Don’t you dare insult me!”

Xu Qianqian shouted at the top of her lungs while pulling out a potion bottle, about to gulp it down.

“Insult you my foot!”

Su Ming felt his mind going blank.

By the time he regained his senses, he realized he had already lunged onto her.

Xu Qianqian was pinned beneath Su Ming, and the two began wrestling fiercely.
