Chapter 139 – You Even Dare to Touch My Brother, Are You Tired of Living?
“So even an Innate Realm expert can’t break through the array formation!”
Inside the old house, Xia He stood by the window, the corners of his mouth curling up wildly as his smile grew increasingly unrestrained.
“Hahaha, is this all an Innate Realm expert can do?”
Having just narrowly escaped death moments ago,
Xia He was in high spirits. He casually pulled up a stool, crossed his legs, took out his phone to play “Good Luck Comes,” and lit a cigarette.
Smoke swirled around him, the embers glowing faintly.
Two Starstones hovered beside him. Seated on the stool, Xia He calmly watched the elder, carefree and at ease, like a young master enjoying life.
He was taunting to the fullest!
“Insolence!”
The Black-Robed Elder’s face turned ashen. Seeing Xia He’s relaxed demeanor, he instantly glared in fury, “How dare you, you junior! Just wait until I drag you out—I’ll tear you to pieces!”
“Suit yourself.”
Xia He, fully in taunting mode, turned up the volume on his phone, blew out a smoke ring, and said leisurely, “After all, you old fogey can’t get in anyway.”
“You!”
The Black-Robed Elder was both furious and shocked.
One must know,
that had been his full-powered attack just now!
A full-force strike from the early Innate Realm.
Yet, the array formation absorbed it effortlessly, as if it had no upper limit, remaining completely unmoved!
“A Fifth-Level Array Formation!”
At this realization, the elder’s eyes widened as he scrutinized Xia He by the window, countless thoughts racing through his mind as he tried to identify the young man’s background.
This kid seemed utterly unremarkable.
Dressed in a police uniform, calling him cannon fodder would be giving him too much credit…
How could a mere Acquired Realm martial artist, a Police Inspector no less… be equipped with such a high-level array formation?!
Could it be…
that he was the current heir of the Jianghai Li Family?
“No, why would the current heir come here to be cannon fodder?”
The Black-Robed Elder frowned in thought. The more he pondered, the more confused he became, and his wariness toward Xia He’s identity grew.
“To have such a powerful array formation for protection, he must be someone of extraordinary status.”
“This kid cannot be left alive. Once he develops in the future, he will surely jeopardize the Venerable One’s plans!!”
At this thought,
a murderous glint flashed in the Black-Robed Elder’s eyes. He settled into a cross-legged position on the ground, his expression gradually twisting.
“You rat, do you really think hiding behind this array formation means I can’t deal with you?”
As his menacing words fell,
Xia He inside the old house felt a chill run down his spine, a sense of dread shooting from his tailbone to the crown of his head.
“Oh no, this old fogey seems to be planning something big.”
Outside the house.
“Indeed, I may not be able to break the array, but there are countless ways to kill you… Why bother breaking it at all?”
The Black-Robed Elder fixed his gaze on Xia He, raised his right arm, and turned his palm toward the night sky. With his left hand, he sliced open a gash in his palm.
The next moment,
Whoosh—
A crimson bloodline snaked out from his palm.
It floated in mid-air, encircling the entire old house until it formed a complete loop, its ends connecting to envelop the entire array formation.
Standing at one point of the blood ring, the Black-Robed Elder pinched the bloodline and sneered,
“Your array formation may block all Star Power, but if I use an Essence Blood Offering to ignite the flames, turning your turtle shell into a furnace…
How long do you think you can last?”
As soon as he finished speaking,
Boom!
The flames erupted!
The bloodline surrounding the old house burst into flames, and the temperature inside the circle soared abruptly.
The scorching air shimmered, accompanied by the sound of crumbling and collapse. In an instant, flames shot skyward, engulfing the entire old house in a sea of fire!
After accomplishing this, the Black-Robed Elder’s face rapidly withered, resembling a desiccated corpse, yet he continued to laugh arrogantly.
“Choose, you rat!””Burn to death in your turtle shell, or come out and be tortured to death by this old man!”
The mad words drifted through the window.
Xia He covered his mouth and nose, searching for water sources in the fire, with no time to care about the old man’s taunts outside. He was completely numb.
Mad!
This old bastard has gone completely mad!
Such a self-destructive move that harms the user as much as the target—to actually waste it on someone in the Acquired Realm?
“What have I done to deserve this?!”
Xia He and his colleagues searched for water inside the house, even attempting to extinguish the flames with Star Power.
But it was utterly useless!
This was the old man’s life-risking technique, burning his essence blood, unrestrained by physical laws—something those in the Acquired Realm simply couldn’t withstand.
Whoosh!
Blistering heat waves swept over them, flames licking along the walls, curtains charring and curling, the air thick with the pungent smell of burning.
“Damn it, we’re done for. We’re going to end up as roasted suckling pigs…”
Xia He and his colleagues crouched low in the sea of fire, covering their mouths and noses to prevent suffocation from the thick smoke, sinking into deep despair.
The surrounding flames closed in, burning fiercer and fiercer.
Faintly.
The Demonkin’s unrestrained laughter could be heard outside.
“Haha! Burn these useless Police Inspectors to death! I want that young man’s skull!”
“The Starstone belongs to our master!”
“Why aren’t you laughing anymore? Keep going…”
The mocking voices outside the window gradually faded, becoming indistinct before disappearing entirely, drowned out by the roaring flames.
Xia He clutched the Starstone tightly, huddling with his colleagues in a corner. The scorching air burned their lungs, their bodies covered in extensive burns.
Moments later.
Their consciousness completely scattered, and they all fell unconscious.
The next moment.
With the Array Formation master gone, the protective formation around the old house dissipated, fading into faint starlight that drifted down, no longer blocking the Demonkin from entering.
“It’s broken! That kid’s unconscious!”
The Heretical Cultists saw this and cried out in ecstatic joy, swarming forward like coyotes.
“Everyone, wait for the fire to die down, then dig that kid out! This old man is going to extract his soul!”
The Black-Robed Elder’s eyes flashed with malice as he extended his hand, preparing to release Star Power to extinguish the bloodline flames and send his subordinates in to collect the bodies.
But just then.
Suddenly!
A voice echoed from all directions, resounding through heaven and earth!
“You dare touch my brother? Tired of living?!”
Terrifying pressure descended like Mount Tai crushing down, instantly immobilizing all the Demonkin!
“Who’s there?!”
The Black-Robed Elder’s pupils constricted sharply as he suddenly saw the void shatter above the old house, with Qin Yang hovering above the burning eaves like a celestial being.
“So fond of playing with fire?”
Qin Yang glanced at the gathered Demonkin, wasting no words as he raised two fingers, summoning the raging inferno from the old house.
With a single command, fire tornadoes swept across the sky, reversing direction to engulf them. Countless Demonkin turned to ash in an instant, not even having time to scream.
Playing with fire leads to self-immolation.
The flames consumed flesh and skin, bone ash falling like torrential rain.
“Done.”
Qin Yang clapped his hands lightly, then followed Xia He’s aura, traversing space to instantly appear beside the injured officers.
On the ground.
Their uniforms were charred black, fused with their flesh as they gasped for breath, enduring the immense pain from their extensive burns.
“The situation isn’t good.”
Seeing this, Qin Yang didn’t hesitate, flipping his palm to activate the Law of Wood.
The next moment.
Vibrant life energy circulated, emerald light radiating from his palm that illuminated the charred room, beginning to heal the officers’ injuries.Flesh sprouted tender buds, while the charred outer skin scabbed over and fell away in patches. Everyone seemed reborn, their consciousness gradually returning as they showed faint signs of awakening.
With his mission accomplished, Qin Yang brushed off his sleeves and departed, vanishing from the spot as he stepped through the void.
