Chapter 16 – Empress Aura Detected, Host Please Kneel and Acknowledge Master Immediately!

Star Martial Police Department, Conference Room.

The spacious conference room was bright and tidy, yet the atmosphere was overwhelmingly oppressive.

Dozens of high-ranking Police Inspectors were gathered around the conference table.

Each of them wore impeccably tailored formal attire, their shoulders adorned with golden stars that signified their status. They were all elites in defending against Star Beasts, and their every move could cause ripples throughout the industry.

But now, their typically stern faces were clouded with deep worry.

“Commander, we just received word that another brother has fallen,” sighed an older district Police Inspector, addressing the Commander at the head of the table. “This is already the seventh case. We can’t go on like this.”

As he spoke, he sighed again and picked up a remote control to activate the holographic projector on the table.

Soon.

Blue light fibers wove together to form a miniature map of Jianghai City, dotted with multiple red points marking the locations of the incidents.

In just these past three days, several more homicides had occurred within Jianghai City.

Some of these crimes had even taken place simultaneously.

This led the Star Martial Police Department to one inevitable conclusion:

These Bloodthirsty Fiends were not alone…

It was highly likely they were operating as a group!

The Demonkin currently in custody might only be the tip of the iceberg!

“I understand what everyone is saying.”

The Star Martial Police Department Commander rested his chin on his hands, his eyes flickering, his expression growing even darker.

Despite the previous Bloodthirsty Fiend being captured.

These past three days had brought no peace to Jianghai City.

On the surface, it seemed everything had concluded. But beneath the calm, dangerous undercurrents still surged!

Since the Demonkin’s arrest.

The police’s capture operation had provoked their accomplices, causing their killing spree to intensify!

Their targets were no longer limited to ordinary citizens.

Instead, they had shifted to attacking members of the Star Martial Police Department!

“This is blatant retaliation!”

A hot-tempered high-ranking Police Inspector slammed the table, furious. “These beasts have no respect for our Star Martial Police Department! Look carefully everyone… at our brothers who were tortured to death!”

As his words faded.

The officer in charge of adjustments didn’t hesitate, quickly pressing the remote.

The next moment.

The holographic projection on the table changed accordingly, the city map dissipating to be replaced by images of corpses clad in Star Martial Police Department uniforms.

The deceased officers’ faces were withered, their skin and flesh shriveled, their deaths utterly tragic—all had been drained of blood alive by the Bloodthirsty Fiends.

The horrifying and miserable state of the bodies was so severe that even veteran officers with years of experience turned away, unable to continue looking.

“Don’t panic. Everyone, calm down.”

The Police Inspector Commander’s face was dark, as if deep in thought.

The others quieted at his command, awaiting his next instructions.

Silence fell over the conference room.

The Commander’s gaze shifted, scanning the projected images of the dead officers.

He understood perfectly well.

The situation was critical.

With the Bloodthirsty Fiends running amok, allowing this to continue was not an option.

If they weren’t eradicated completely, the Police Department would struggle to justify itself to the citizens.”How many citizens are currently aware of this matter?”

The Commander inquired of the nearest high-ranking Police Inspector.

“None, not a single one. Rest assured, Commander. Immediately after the incident occurred, we implemented a complete information lockdown.”

The high-ranking official explained.

“Good. Continue the information blackout and increase patrol personnel allocations.”

The Commander said quietly, “Judging by the current situation, those fiends have clearly shifted their killing focus entirely onto our police department.”

“Now that we’ve just informed the citizens that the Bloodthirsty Fiend has been eliminated, and they’ve finally settled down, we can’t let them be disturbed again.”

“Yes, I’ll see to it immediately.”

After several rounds of discussion.

The emergency meeting adjourned.

In the following days, patrol forces in Jianghai City jurisdiction quietly doubled.

However, to the Commander’s relief, those Demonkin seemed to have gone into hiding, apparently frightened.

After the meeting, there were no more reports of crimes committed by the Bloodthirsty Fiend.

The storm appeared to have subsided…

….

Just as the pursuit operation was intensifying.

In the Star Martial Police Department prison, the midday sun shone brightly through the window into the cell.

A gaunt prisoner facing the blazing sun suddenly began convulsing violently, his face drained of all color.

He died instantly right there in the cell…

“Damn it, another one dead!”

The prison guard making rounds rushed over upon hearing the commotion and cursed angrily.

Deaths were common occurrences in the Star Martial Police Department prison.

Most of the incarcerated prisoners were wicked individuals who practiced various bizarre, life-shortening demonic arts.

Sometimes they’d just arrived a few days ago, barely settled in, and already managed to get themselves killed.

The guard spat on the corpse, didn’t give it much thought, and directly started moving the body to the crematorium.

This was just daily routine in the prison.

………

Meanwhile, on the first floor of the Library.

Several people borrowing books passed by the bookshelves and suddenly noticed Qin Yang resting with his eyes closed in the corner.

“Hey, look, that administrator is slacking off again.”

“Don’t look. Someone with mediocre talent like him will never become a cultivator. He’ll probably be stuck as an administrator his whole life.”

“Ah, he opened his eyes. Hurry, let’s go.”

The group pushed each other along, bowing their heads and scurrying away.

Hearing these comments, Qin Yang, who had been contemplating martial techniques, opened his eyes with some frustration.

So what if I’m slacking off?

Did my slacking off eat your family’s rice?!

Qin Yang rolled his eyes.

Just as he was feeling annoyed.

“Old Qin!”

A familiar voice suddenly came from behind.

Qin Yang turned to see Xia He scurrying over excitedly.

“What’s going on? Why so urgent?”

“There’s a beauty! A real beauty! Come quick!”

Xia He eagerly pulled Qin Yang, dragging him toward the entrance. “This one’s absolutely stunning! Hundreds of times better than those seductive sluts in black stockings!”

“Really? That good?”

Qin Yang shook off his hand and immediately started walking, moving even faster than Xia He.

Xia He: “…”

Soon.

The two arrived at their destination.

In the library’s rest area.

A girl about seventeen or eighteen years old was quietly reading.

Warm sunlight fell on her shoulders, her face pure and exquisitely beautiful. She wore a simple white dress, her jet-black waterfall-like hair adding to her elegance.

This was none other than…It was the young girl who had followed the principal of Jianghai Martial Arts Academy after that sword strike severed Broken Peak!

And at that very moment!

Qin Yang suddenly heard the system’s notification sound echoing in his mind!

“Ding! Empress information detected. Host is requested to immediately kowtow and acknowledge her as master!”
