Chapter 260: Xuan Nan
Chapter 260: Xuan Nan
“Brother Two Eggs, long time no see! Hahahaha!”
Outside the bronze gate.
A transformed Fierce Beast with a Black Tortoise shell on its back and a bluish face walked over with a smile.
He patted Xiao Chunwei on the shoulder, and the two seemed quite familiar.
The anger in Xiao Chunwei’s eyes vanished in an instant, but he still greeted with a smile and flattered the turtle-backed figure: “Brother Xuan Nan, it’s been a long time. Has your Realm advanced further?”
“Hahahaha!” Xuan Nan laughed heartily, his turtle shell trembling with his rough voice.
“I’ve had a slight Breakthrough today. Brother Two Eggs truly has a discerning eye.”
Xiao Chunwei clenched his fist tighter beneath his sleeve, forcing a smile as he explained, “Brother Xuan Nan, I changed my name to Xiao Chunwei a thousand years ago.”
“Alright, Xiao Two Eggs.”
Xuan Nan remained smiling, seemingly indifferent.
Xiao Chunwei fell silent, taking a deep breath before saying, “When we enter the Four Directions Realm, I’ll use a special method to summon you. As for the promised matter…”
Xuan Nan waved his hand dismissively. “Ah, I, Xuan Nan, have always valued loyalty above all. Since we address each other as brothers, how could I not help?”
Hearing this, Xiao Chunwei smiled with relief and cupped his hands in gratitude.
“Brother Xuan’s defense is unparalleled under heaven. With your assistance, I have nothing to worry about.”
Xuan Nan raised his chin slightly, clearly pleased by such praise.
“Oh, right, I forgot to find that damn Boundary Stone on my way here. Do you have an extra one, Brother Zhang?”
Xuan Nan frowned, both at the address and the matter of the Boundary Stone.
“This… I have no extra Boundary Stones on hand.”
A strange glint flashed in Xiao Chunwei’s eyes as he sighed helplessly. “Now that the resonance has disappeared, finding a Boundary Stone will likely be difficult.”
Unexpectedly, Xuan Nan sneered disdainfully.
“Brother Zhang, no worries. I’ll just stake out the Realm Gate and find some easy target to get in.”
Xuan Nan nodded. “That works too.”
As long as he kept watch at the Realm Gate, there would always be some weaker individuals who happened to obtain Boundary Stones.
With a little caution from Xuan Nan, the Boundary Stone issue wouldn’t be a problem.
Outside the bronze gate, many powerful figures had already gathered.
Moreover, every one of them was a Martial God-level expert—truly a den of wolves where a single misstep could lead to utter ruin.
At that moment, the bronze gate trembled, and a faint gray light seeped from the crack.
Then, the crack widened further until the gate swung fully open.
The Realm Gate was open!
“Everyone, I’ll take the lead.”
A Tenth Rank expert spoke up and stepped into the Realm Gate as the first to enter.
Soon after, more experts followed, their figures disappearing one by one.
Just then, a mysterious resonance emanated from the Realm Gate, sending out invisible ripples. Jiang Yan, hidden in the shadows, sensed danger.
A trace of his Aura was stirred by the ripples, completely exposing his concealment.
“Well, well, interesting. There really is a fish that slipped through the net.”
Xuan Nan, standing beside Xiao Chunwei, licked his lips and turned back with a grin. “Brother Two Eggs, I told you there’d always be someone slipping through to hand over a Boundary Stone willingly. Hahahaha!”
Xuan Nan forced a smile but said nothing.
Xuan Nan turned back, sneering viciously at Jiang Yan, who had revealed himself.
His voice carried from afar.
“Kid, will you hand over the Boundary Stone willingly, or… shall I take it myself?”
Jiang Yan remained silent, committing Xuan Nan’s appearance to memory.
“Wait… I’ll teleport into the Realm Gate using [Space Law]. Once my strength improves, I’ll settle the score with this scum.”
Xuan Nan struggled to hold his ground alone, but with Xiao Chunwei’s stance unclear, it was best to wait until they entered the Realm Gate before making further plans.
After finalizing his strategy, Jiang Yan unleashed a thousand War Ruins Engravings at once.
Protected by the Heaven-Slaying Battle Intent, Jiang Yan had no fear of being instantly defeated by this turtle.
Seeing Jiang Yan dare to resist, Xuan Nan sneered mockingly:
“How amusing, an ant dares to shake a great tree.”
“Then let’s give it a try!”
In an instant, Xuan Nan appeared before Jiang Yan. The turtle shell on his back transformed into a massive hammer, swirling in his hand as an overwhelming, heavy pressure descended like a tidal wave.
Boom!
A shockwave erupted from the hammer in Xuan Nan’s grasp.
Jiang Yan’s hair danced wildly as his face was shrouded by a vast shadow.
Just then, a familiar voice slowly echoed from ahead.
“You little runt, you dare to target my brother?”
Boom!
The gray figure before him threw a punch, sending the turtle-shell hammer in Xuan Nan’s hand flying like a meteor into the distance.
Xuan Nan was startled, his expression one of astonishment as he stared at the gray figure before him.
“You… you… you’re the Sky Demon!”
“Scum, die!”
Without another word, the Sky Demon launched another kick.
Xuan Nan blocked with both arms, but the terrifying shockwave traveled from his arms throughout his entire body. His burly frame was forced back several steps. The turtle shell, which had flown into the distance, swiftly returned and covered his front, barely blocking the Sky Demon’s third punch.
“Hahahahahaha!”
The Sky Demon laughed heartily, chasing Xuan Nan with reckless abandon.
“Wait, I have no grudge against the Demon Race, you—”
“Prepare to die!”
The Sky Demon had no patience for explanations, raining down a flurry of punches.
Jiang Yan stood in place, watching Xiang Yu chase after the green turtle.
The turtle’s defenses were unparalleled, but its offensive capabilities were lacking, placing it at an absolute disadvantage in the eyes of onlookers.
Suddenly, Xiao Chunwei descended from the sky, conjuring a Formation out of thin air to separate the Sky Demon from his pursuit of Xuan Nan.
The Sky Demon glared at Xiao Chunwei. “Second Egg, what’s the meaning of this?”
Xiao Chunwei rubbed his forehead wearily. “What happened earlier was all a misunderstanding. I apologize on behalf of Brother Xuan Nan to that young man.”
“A misunderstanding? If I hadn’t arrived in time, would I have had to watch my own brother fall before my eyes?”
Xuan Nan and the surrounding Tenth Rank powerhouses watching the spectacle were all taken aback.
Several strands of Spiritual Power intertwined as they communicated secretly.
“That human youth is actually the Sky Demon’s sworn brother?”
“How strange. How could a human have ties with the Demon Race? Truly an oddity.”
“The Demon Race despises impure Bloodlines the most. How could they have human offspring?”
“Hahaha, this reminds me of a certain unrestrained and philandering Demon King.”
Their words pieced together Jiang Yan’s identity, though it was all speculation without any evidence.
At the center of the conflict:
“Young man, I apologize on behalf of Brother Xuan for his earlier rudeness.”
Xiao Chunwei seemed to carry no airs as a Tenth Rank Martial God, easily bowing slightly before Jiang Yan.
Jiang Yan greeted him with a smile, though inwardly, his guard rose.
“These Heavenly Source Martial Gods are truly no pushovers.”
A hothead like Xuan Nan wasn’t frightening; the truly terrifying ones were those like Xiao Chunwei, who could bend without breaking and kept the bigger picture in mind.
Keeping his wits about him, Jiang Yan waved his hand with a smile. “It was just a misunderstanding. This Junior is not one to hold grudges.”
Seeing that Jiang Yan wasn’t pursuing the matter, the Sky Demon stopped chasing Xuan Nan, though he shot him a warning glare.
Xiao Chunwei smoothed things over: “Alright, since it’s all a misunderstanding, why not turn conflict into harmony and enter the Four Directions Realm together?”
Jiang Yan actually didn’t want to be with these people, but given the strange atmosphere, it was best not to stir up more trouble for now.
Xuan Nan, covering his face, mumbled, “I’ll go snatch Boundary Stones from others.”
