Chapter 276: Formation Mastery
Chapter 276: Formation Mastery
A Forbidden Land is, by definition, fraught with danger.
Jiang Yan attempted to observe it with his Spiritual Power, but was blocked by something far more powerful in the air, unable to advance even an inch.
Without hesitation, he turned back, choosing not to enter.
Inside the Forbidden Land, life and death were uncertain; outside, Xiao Chunwei lay in wait at all times. Entering now was hardly a wise move.
“Jiang is quite a generous and kind-hearted person.”
As if recalling something, a faint smile appeared at the corner of Jiang Yan’s mouth as he flew away from the abyss without a second thought.
Three days later.
Jiang Yan remained in his Immortal Cave, consolidating his knowledge of Formations.
The Empty Moon Sect housed numerous Formations, and to move about freely, thorough preparation was naturally required.
Just then, noise erupted once again at the cave entrance.
“Junior Brother Jiang! Junior Brother Jiang, something terrible has happened!”
Xiang Yu stumbled into Jiang Yan’s cave, tripping and falling flat on his face, a far cry from the imposing figure of the Sky Demon he once was.
If Xiang Yu ever regained his memories, he would likely want to jump off a building in shame.
Jiang Yan calmly stored away all the books related to Formations before turning to look at the Sky Demon.
“What happened?”
The Sky Demon, tears and snot streaming down his face, scrambled up from the ground and approached Jiang Yan, his voice trembling with sobs.
“Junior Brother Jiang, you have no idea. That Xuan Nan, who we beat up a few months ago, has returned after mastering a profound Cultivation Method. He’s now threatening to settle the score with both of us!”
Seeing how violently Xiang Yu’s body trembled, it was clear he was terrified of Xuan Nan’s retaliation.
Jiang Yan frowned in thought. Just as Xiang Yu grew increasingly anxious, a faint smile suddenly appeared on his face.
“Senior Brother Xiang, are you willing to let Xuan Nan bully you like this?”
“J-Junior Brother Jiang, what do you mean by that? And… and your eyes look so terrifying…”
The Sky Demon, with his altered memories, was utterly cowardly to the core. Yet Jiang Yan believed that a person’s true nature could never truly change.
The Sky Demon should not be like this.
“Come with me.”
Jiang Yan grabbed the Sky Demon and dragged him into the sky without waiting for a response.
Clear skies, white clouds.
Jiang Yan, the Sky Demon.
“Point me in the direction of Xuan Nan’s residence.”
“Over there…”
Jiang Yan looked where the Sky Demon pointed and smiled. “Now, throw a punch in that direction.”
“Junior Brother Jiang, how can I do that?”
“Hurry up, don’t waste time.”
“Alright.”
Gritting his teeth, the Sky Demon closed his eyes and threw a punch toward the ground.
Boom!
In that instant, the force of the punch tore through the heavens, plunging all things into silence. A colossal fist shadow enveloped the celestial palace.
Xuan Nan’s residence was instantly reduced to ruins.
The Sky Demon was dumbstruck, staring blankly at his own fist. “Did I do that?”
“Wait, I… I killed someone. Junior Brother Jiang, I killed someone, wuwuwu…”
Jiang Yan patted his shoulder. “It’s fine. It’s not like this is the first time you’ve killed someone.”
The Sky Demon immediately protested. “Junior Brother Jiang, don’t tease me. I don’t even dare to kill a chicken myself on a normal day. How could I possibly be so terrifying as to kill a person?”
Jiang Yan chuckled but didn’t argue.
The Sky Demon remained heartbroken, drowning in the agony of having taken a life, unable to free himself.
Jiang Yan knew it was impossible for Xuan Nan to have been killed with a single punch, but he still deceived Xiang Yu, asking, “How does it feel to kill someone?”
“To kill Xuan Nan, the one who once humiliated you. Now he has no Aura left, buried deep underground, never to be reborn.”
“Wuwuwu, Junior Brother Jiang, please don’t say anymore. I’ll go to the Punishment Hall and turn myself in.”
Jiang Yan: “Close your eyes and feel your boiling blood. They will tell you the right answer.”
Ten minutes later.
The Sky Demon slowly opened his eyes. The clarity in his pupils transformed into a raging sea of blood filled with furious roars.
“Junior Brother Jiang… killing… feels so good…”
The corners of his mouth curved upward at an impossible angle, and that extremely ferocious smile returned to his gray face once more.
“Hahahahahaha, how dare you bully this venerable one! Sending you to Hell would be letting you off too lightly!”
Boom!
An overwhelming aura exploded. The entire Sect trembled under the power of the life-and-death Chaos Law, and the heavens themselves changed color. That Senior Brother Xiang, who wouldn’t even dare kill a chicken, was completely dead. What returned was only a peerless Demon Lord who had lost his memories but remained inherently bloodthirsty.
“Junior Brother Jiang, who shall we kill?”
Although his personality had changed, his memories were still altered, so the Sky Demon instinctively looked toward Jiang Yan.
Jiang Yan wore a smile identical to the Sky Demon’s.
“Do what you enjoy. Crush those Senior Brothers and Senior Sisters who bullied you.”
“Praise!”
Three days later, the entire Empty Moon Sect was thrown into chaos by the Sky Demon. Fortunately, those who had lost their memories hadn’t lost their strength, so casualties weren’t significant.
The entire Sect issued a kill order against the Sky Demon.
Night.
Under the cover of a dark yellow Formation, one man and one demon secretly plotted.
“Junior Brother Jiang, I beat up all those fellow disciples who bullied me before. Unfortunately, they were thick-skinned, and reinforcements arrived too quickly. I couldn’t kill them in time.”
“It’s fine. Whether they die or not doesn’t matter.”
“Senior Brother Xiang, actually, this Junior Brother has a favor to ask of you.”
“Junior Brother, you jest. Your matters are my matters. Speak freely, and this Senior Brother will do as you say.”
Jiang Yan whispered his request to the Sky Demon.
Within the dark yellow Formation, the Aura vanished without a trace.
Jiang Yan didn’t even know what level his Formation mastery had reached now.
Anyway, if he wanted to leave now, he could easily break the maze Formation and take everyone with him.
But why should he take everyone away without any reward?
The Formation dissipated, and both Jiang Yan and the Sky Demon vanished into the silent night.
One day later.
“After several months, I’ve finally found it—the Sect’s treasure vault.”
Night, soundless.
A mass of black shadow flitted through the night. A bloody killing Formation coiled within the inner hall.
Countless saber lights swept through the killing Formation. A figure took advantage of the opportunity to weave through, dodging those crimson-tipped thrusts.
“Extreme abundance of blood Qi is emptiness; extreme emptiness of blood Qi is abundance.”
“Abundance and emptiness converge—the Formation Eye is here!”
“War Ruins Engraving.”
A thousand Engravings gathered into one, releasing a crude red line.
Boom!
The earth turned to nothingness. The killing Formation’s light scattered. Jiang Yan walked out from the thick dust.
Entering the hidden Mustard Seed Space, what lay before him was no longer the ancient inner hall but had transformed into a boundless sea of stars.
Tiny points of starlight formed the splendor of the Mustard Seed Space, like spirits dancing in the night, gathering within this starry sea. The points of light connected into patches, forming drifting ribbons of starry rivers.
Looking closely, these glowing objects weren’t stars but one mysterious Immortal Plant after another.
Jiang Yan couldn’t help but swallow hard. His slightly dry pockets reminded him that he seemed to have stumbled upon a windfall.
“These plants must have grown for at least several hundred thousand years, right?”
“What a rich aura of Law! Immortal Plants condense Laws—their age is absolutely beyond doubt!”
