Chapter 486 – The Divine War Ends: Ascending to the Divine Position!
Transformed into a shadow spider, the all-encompassing web continuously emerged from the Mother of Nest Worms’ body, spreading outward in all directions.
The web that filled the Void slowed Mu Lin’s movements, and a single tug could set everything in motion.
—Once entangled by even a single strand, the webs rooted in the Void would exert force in unison, meaning that if Mu Lin tried to break free by brute force, he would be pitted against the entire Void.
What left Mu Lin unsure whether to feel relieved or exasperated was that the laws of decay, annihilation, and so on targeted not only him but also the Mother of Nest Worms. This limited the range of the shadow spider’s web; otherwise, Mu Lin would have been contending not with a patch of the Void but with the entire world.
This was a terrifying Evil God capable of building nests from worlds and weaving webs across entire realms.
Even with these limitations, the web still posed a significant challenge for Mu Lin.
Each time he became entangled, he had to rely on the purest light of Purification to cleanse the web away.
Due to the resilience of the strands, while he could purify them, it required a brief moment—just enough time for the Mother of Nest Worms to launch an attack.
Whether it was a whip-like strike, a piercing stab from a spider’s leg, or a full-body collision, each assault left Mu Lin severely wounded. His body and internal organs shattered time and again.
Even his head was shattered multiple times.
But it didn’t matter. As long as he wasn’t killed outright—with every single cell destroyed—he could use the Calamity Monarch’s innate ability to transform his injuries into calamities and absorb them directly.
Then, by activating the Life Authority, Mu Lin could restore himself to his original state.
With this calamity absorption and Life Authority, Mu Lin was like an unkillable cockroach, repeatedly battered yet rising again and again to fight and clash with the Mother of Nest Worms.
Well, the combination of calamity absorption and Life Authority wasn’t without flaws… Each time he used the Life Authority to heal himself, he required vast amounts of energy.
Under normal circumstances, such a battle of attrition would be unwinnable against a True God.
But Mu Lin possessed controlled Nuclear Fusion, so energy was never an issue. Thus, this flaw was practically negligible for him.
“You can’t kill me!”
“Boom!”
After countless cycles of being knocked down and getting back up, Mu Lin had been grievously wounded innumerable times, but the Mother of Nest Worms wasn’t faring much better. In its shadow spider form, it could indeed capture Mu Lin, but its high fire resistance and light-absorbing crystalline carapace had dissipated.
This gave Mu Lin the means to injure the Mother of Nest Worms.
“Boom!”
Exploding feathers and wildly condensed Sun God Fists left the shadow spider somewhat disheveled.
Being pushed to such a state by a mere “mortal” enraged the Mother of Nest Worms completely.
“Human, you deserve to die!”
As it spoke, the spider’s thousand eyes suddenly fixed on Mu Lin.
Annihilation Divine Light!
This was the shadow spider’s innate ability, a soul-shattering killing move.
Under the gaze of this light, the soul within Mu Lin’s body immediately felt as if it were on the verge of shattering.
This caused the Mother of Nest Worms to sneer triumphantly:
“You can heal physical wounds with the Life Authority, but can you do the same for soul injuries?”
The answer was, of course… no.
This is also the reason why Mu Lin said the Goddess of Life was inferior to Nuwa—the life she created struggled to give birth to powerful souls and even more rarely became the protagonists of the world.
However, while the Life Authority could not heal soul injuries, Mu Lin had never relied solely on the Life Authority to reach where he was now.
“Injuries, transfer!”
“Hum!”
As a Substitute Paper Figure shattered, the cracks in Mu Lin’s soul were instantly transferred away.
“I told you, you can’t kill me.”
Vigorously restored, Mu Lin charged toward the Shadow Spider once more.
Time and again, he was gravely wounded, and time and again, he recovered. The battle between Mu Lin and the Shadow Spider remained locked in a stalemate.
After wounding Mu Lin thousands of times and “killing” him over a hundred times, only to see him still full of vitality, the already deranged Mother of Nest Worms grew increasingly frenzied.
“Why won’t you die!”
“I told you, you can’t kill me!”
Just as Mu Lin had said, he now possessed the qualifications to participate in a divine war.
Unfortunately, he only had the qualifications to participate—he could not determine the outcome of the divine war. As time passed, the situation gradually turned unfavorable for Mu Lin.
It wasn’t due to a lack of energy or Substitute Paper Figures, but rather because the Shadow Spider evolved further during their battle.
It transformed from an ordinary Shadow Spider into a crystalline form capable of absorbing light.
What made Mu Lin sigh even more was that other Evil Gods also joined the fray—the number of True Lords was ultimately limited.
What they had relied on in the past was the Profound Spirit World as their stronghold, allowing them to retreat into the world at any time to recover.
In contrast, the Evil Gods could only be worn down repeatedly.
Moreover, the Alien Realm Deities and the Evil Gods were not a united front. As long as a deity showed signs of weakness, other Divine Kingdoms would swarm in to devour them completely.
It was only by exploiting their divisions that the True Lords managed to maintain the situation.
But now, Mu Lin’s rise had made all the Alien Realm Deities sense danger.
For the first time, they united, making it difficult for the True Lords to hold their ground.
Even united, they might not necessarily breach the Profound Spirit World, but the god-like body Mu Lin had painstakingly crafted would be utterly destroyed.
This scene prompted the Goddess of Life to stand up once more.
She prepared to intervene… but then, Mu Lin’s voice echoed within the Divine Kingdom.
“Forget it. Since they want to kill me, I’ll give them that body.”
Though he said he would give it to them, Mu Lin was already prepared. When the Giant of Light could no longer hold on, he would have that Clone ascend to its ultimate state, transforming completely into a great sun to burn everything to ashes.
As for how Mu Lin, who was fighting outside, could still speak in the Life Spirit Garden—this was naturally because… the one outside was merely a Clone.
Hmm… the Mu Lin in the Life Spirit Garden was also just a Clone.
Thus, even if all the Mu Lins fighting outside perished, his Main Body within the world would remain unharmed.
The Goddess of Life sensed this as well, but looking at that powerful Divine Form—one that even contained the bloodline of the Celestial Spirit Clan—she couldn’t help but feel reluctant.
“Is it really alright to abandon such a powerful body so easily?”
These words made Mu Lin laugh: “It doesn’t matter. I’ve already memorized the genes of that body. Given time, I can replicate it again.”
This is the power of science—it doesn’t rely on mysticism or elusive opportunities. Once the method is mastered, if science succeeds once, it can succeed countless times.
As the two conversed, another Evil God arrived beside the Giant of Light. Realizing escape was impossible, that body immediately underwent an ultimate sublimation, initiating the most violent and brilliant explosion.
“Boom!”
Endless flames and radiance enveloped the battlefield. The extreme explosion, containing vast amounts of energy, even purified some of the chaotic laws on the battlefield.
Though soon enough, they were once again covered by the rules and Domains of the Celestial Deities and True Lords.
“Kill Mu Lin!” Some Evil Gods roared madly, while other Alien Realm deities wore grim expressions.
The former were frenzied beings, knowing only slaughter and destruction.
The latter, however, possessed reason. They clearly understood that killing a Clone wouldn’t solve the problem—it would only slow Mu Lin’s growth slightly.
Yet even with this understanding, they were helpless. The Human Race’s True Lords were not foolish; they too knew that the intelligent Foreign Race deities posed the greatest threat to Mu Lin.
Thus, during battle, they specifically targeted these opponents, even fighting with a willingness to perish together. This made the latter somewhat hesitant.
—Whether True Lords or Celestial Deities, they all possessed various resurrection abilities.
However, the more powerful the existence, the harder they were to kill, and each resurrection consumed astronomical resources.
With the Profound Spirit World backing them, True Lords could resurrect multiple times. The Evil Gods were different—having left their worlds and wandering the Void, they no longer had many resurrection opportunities left.
Moreover, if they truly fell into slumber, there was no guarantee they would awaken again. The Human Race’s True Lords and other Evil Gods would not hesitate to devour them in their weakened state.
Thus, with their desperate fighting style, the True Lords kept the intelligent deities at the outermost perimeter. As for the frenzied Evil Gods, they were drawn to Mu Lin’s Giant of Light.
In the end, with the Giant of Light’s self-destruction as the conclusion, the Goddess of Life’s Divine Kingdom arrived at the border of the human world.
As soon as it docked, another Mu Lin emerged from within the Profound Spirit World.
After expressing gratitude to the True Lords following the great battle, Mu Lin did not immediately enter the Life Spirit Garden.
Scanning the Alien Realm deities that exuded killing intent toward him, he committed the images of the many mad gods to memory before finally stepping into the Goddess of Life’s Divine Kingdom.
His gaze also caused some True Gods to grow solemn.
Though Mu Lin was still weak, no deity dared to overlook him now.
“This is troublesome…”
“Not only did we fail to kill him, but we’ve also made a mortal enemy…”
“We must nip him in the bud, or we will all perish…”
…
Mu Lin was unaware of the thoughts of the Evil Gods outside. By now, he had already entered the Life Spirit Garden and was beginning to inherit the Divine Position and Life Authority.
As he had previously considered, Mu Lin planned to integrate the Divine Position of Life into the Lord of Mount Tai.
“Hell has King Yama, the Emperor of Fengdu, and Black Hole·Mahakala—its growth potential is extremely high.”
“The Lord of Mount Tai in the Mortal Realm now possesses the Life Authority, completing the authority of the Mortal Realm. Among the three realms of Heaven, Earth, and Humanity, only the authority of Heaven remains vacant.”
Mu Lin had an idea for this position as well.
“My Giant of Light form can transform into the great sun, control starlight, and become a Celestial Deity, the Heavenly Emperor.”
“Thus, the trinity will be fully established.”
