Chapter 311 – Su Hao’s Oversight

Chapter 311 – Su Hao's Oversight

Among the tens of thousands of people in the plaza, there were all sorts of individuals.

When faced with such a situation, to survive, they all displayed their unique skills. For example, a young man who somehow produced a rifle ran up to Su Hao and started shooting at him, only to be cut in half along with his rifle by Su Hao. For example, a small team quickly fashioned a makeshift rocket launcher using available tools and fired a shell at Su Hao. The shell was split in half by Su Hao’s blade, and then the team also turned into cold corpses…

Whether these people who wanted to be heroes and save the world were Resistors or not, was no longer important.

Time slowly passed. As Su Hao and Yashan killed more and more people, the crowd in the plaza actually stopped panicking!

Because many people noticed that the two unbelievably powerful Armored individuals ran past them, but did not kill them with those blood-stained blades!

Then they realized that these two Armored individuals must have specific objectives to kill. As for who those objectives were, it didn’t matter. What was important was that the objective was not themselves!

Those who understood this were overjoyed. They were not the targets to be killed, which meant they could live!

For the first time, they felt the preciousness of life. It was great to be alive, great to see the sun tomorrow! Even if tomorrow was cloudy and there was no sun, they would still be happy!

Su Hao didn’t know how many Resistors he had killed. He only knew that when he saw someone with a Resistor mark, he would rush up and cut them down, like playing a game and grinding low-level monsters.

Killing wasn’t a simple task either, no wonder many people preferred mages over warriors.

After an unknown amount of time, the Resistor marks in his vision became fewer and fewer. When no more marks appeared, Su Hao finally stopped.

Yashan slowly walked up to Su Hao, called out ‘Boss Wei’, and then said nothing more.

Su Hao and Yashan were still in their Black Crystal Armor, which had turned dark red as if soaked in blood.

Su Hao casually tossed aside the two Long Blades. The outer layer of his Black Crystal Armor shed, and new Black Crystal Armor immediately formed, making it look brand new.

Yashan, following suit, also shed his blood-stained Black Crystal Armor, returning to his usual handsome appearance.

Yashan looked around at the corpses littering the ground. Tens of thousands of people were gathered in the distance, watching these two gods of slaughter with terrified expressions.

Yashan croaked, “It’s over?”

Su Hao nodded. “I suppose so!”

With that, he slowly retracted his Black Crystal transformation. The tall Black Crystal walls in the distance began to soften and shrink, eventually merging into the ground and disappearing. The Hardness of the Black Crystal ground beneath everyone’s feet became unstable again, gradually returning to its original earthy yellow color!

This sight caused the tens of thousands of people in the distance to breathe a collective sigh of relief. They knew that this bloody massacre was finally over, and they would truly survive.

Su Hao said to Yashan, “Let’s go! We’ll deal with that underground cave in the northwest first.”

Yashan said, “Boss Wei, wait for me for a moment. I’ll go retrieve the camera. I mounted it on top of the Black Crystal cage earlier and recorded the entire process!”

Su Hao said, “Go ahead!”

Yashan acknowledged and ran off. Su Hao, meanwhile, entered his consciousness into the Pinball Space and had Little Light report the combat summary.

A moment later, Su Hao exclaimed in surprise, “What? Over a dozen are missing for no reason?”

Su Hao’s first thought was that some Resistors had Teleported back to the Sub-Star. He immediately checked the ‘Double Suppression Force Field’ Rune device underground and found no anomalies; it was still functioning. He then tried to extend his Mental Tentacles, but under the effect of the suppression Force Field, even Su Hao’s Mental Tentacles were tightly suppressed, making Teleportation impossible.

“What’s going on?” Su Hao immediately closed his eyes, shrinking his Perception range and increasing its precision. He carefully scanned all the Blood Qi reactions present, looking for any Resistors who might have infiltrated the remaining tens of thousands of people.

However, he found none.

Su Hao’s brow furrowed. He muttered, “Is there some loophole I overlooked that someone exploited? What could it be?”

Su Hao’s Radar Perception continuously scanned, Seeking his own blind spots. Just as he was about to give up, he suddenly detected a trace of abnormality. “Hmm? The Blood Qi of the Chow Chow Beasts, it hasn’t completely dissipated yet?”

Su Hao’s curiosity piqued, and he strode towards the headless bodies of several Chow Chow Beasts in the distance.

“After Summoned Beasts die, their Blood Qi slowly dissipates. The Blood Qi of these Chow Chow Beasts is also gradually dissipating, but it’s slowing down and even showing signs of stabilization! Could there be something special about them?” As Su Hao approached, the Blood Qi sensation became clearer, and he couldn’t help but freeze.

“This is… Human Blood Qi!”

The Blood Qi of ordinary Humans is far weaker than that of Summoned Beasts. Ordinary Human Blood Qi is so faint that if Su Hao didn’t pay specific attention to compare, he would have mistaken it for that of small animals like cats or dogs.

Su Hao immediately instructed Little Light to compare the current Blood Qi characteristics. Little Light’s result was: Similarity to Resistors #2301, #0034… is 90%.

These were precisely the dozen or so Resistors that Little Light had reported as missing!

A flash of inspiration struck Su Hao’s mind, and he immediately understood the key to the situation!

Those dozen or so missing Resistors had hidden themselves inside the bodies of the Chow Chow Beasts, then manipulated them to attack Su Hao. After Su Hao decapitated them, they used a loophole in Su Hao’s thinking to successfully evade his subsequent pursuit!

As fate would have it, after the Resistors entered the Chow Chow Beasts’ bodies, their faint Blood Qi harmonized with the beasts’ immense Blood Qi, becoming one. Like a drop of ink falling into the ocean, they evaded Su Hao’s Radar scan, causing Little Light to instantly lose track of the objectives and finally mark them as missed.

If Su Hao hadn’t used his Radar to meticulously scan for abnormalities after learning that over a dozen people had escaped, these individuals would have truly gotten away.

Even while facing an enemy Force Field, Su Hao couldn’t help but exclaim, “Holy crap, what talent!”

Then he chided his Little Light, “Little Light, you suck!”

Little Light replied, “Yes, respected Mr. Su Hao.”

Su Hao conjured another Long Blade and said with a hearty laugh, “I’d like to see what kind of talent almost escaped my pursuit!”

Director Luo and the others, hiding inside the Chow Chow Beasts’ corpses, heard Su Hao’s words and their anuses clenched. They thought to themselves, “We’re doomed!”

However, fearing a bluff, they held their breath and remained still, praying to all the gods in heaven and on earth to quickly make this god of slaughter leave.

Perhaps because they had committed too many sins, the gods had long abandoned them. Not only did the god of slaughter not leave, but he slowly approached. They heard him say, “Hiding inside and not coming out? Heh!”

Su Hao stomped his foot, and his Black Crystal armor spread out, quickly generating numerous ‘high-temperature’ Runes, which began to roast the Chow Chow Beasts’ corpses.

The Resistors understood they had been discovered. Although they didn’t know how, it was a fait accompli. Now was not the time to dwell on it; they were more concerned with: What could they do to survive?

After enduring for only thirty seconds, Director Luo and the others hiding in the Chow Chow Beasts couldn’t hold on any longer. They scrambled out of the gaping wounds, spitting out the Chow Chow Beasts’ blood.

A dozen or so Resistors, covered in blood, stood before Su Hao, confronting him.

Su Hao nodded and said, “Good spirit!”

Director Luo’s round face changed, and he plastered on a fawning smile. “Hero, have you mistaken us for someone else? We’re just tourists visiting Paradise Town and know nothing. If we’ve offended your eyes, we’ll leave immediately. Is that acceptable?”

Su Hao smiled and said, “I waited until now just to tell you that you almost got away with it! But…”

“Your luck was just a tiny bit short!”

With that, Su Hao moved his feet, instantly flashing among Director Luo and the other dozen or so people!

“Swish!”

Blade light flashed, blood splattered, and a dozen headless corpses slowly fell to the ground.

In his dying moments, Director Luo was still thinking, “Where was the sliver of survival that belonged to me…”
