Chapter 78 – One Grandmaster vs. Nine Grand Tutors
Chapter 78 – One Grandmaster vs. Nine Grand Tutors
Su Hao ran forward without stopping, putting more distance between himself and the Town.
After a while, he realized he still hadn’t managed to shake off the nine Grand Tutor martial artists.
So Su Hao started to zigzag, running for a bit, then immediately changing direction, repeating this back and forth, yet the nine Grand Tutor martial artists behind him were still clinging tightly to his heels.
Su Hao understood that the other side must have some way to track him; no matter how he changed direction, they could immediately lock onto his position.
He stopped changing direction and just ran forward, because since the other side could pinpoint his location, changing direction wouldn’t help him gain distance and would instead make it easier for them to catch up.
Su Hao ran at full speed, analyzing the situation: “The distance is about 1500 meters now. What are they using to track my direction? Could it be Perception? Perhaps scent, sound, or some unknown life field!”
Furthermore, the full running speed of the nine Grand Tutor martial artists was only slightly slower than Su Hao’s, and he wasn’t sure what their tracking limit was. This meant he didn’t know how long it would take to completely shake them off.
“My speed is still too slow. It seems I need to research flying Runes!”
Su Hao frowned and pondered for a moment, realizing that continuing to run like this wasn’t beneficial for him, as he couldn’t be sure if there were only these ten people or if someone else was blocking his path ahead.
If he turned back now, he would face nine Grand Tutor-level opponents, a known risk. But if he continued running, he might face more than nine, an unknown risk.
He needed to control the risk!
Su Hao chose to turn back and fight head-on!
Grand Tutor martial artists were not invincible.
The only problem was that there were too many of them. Once he was caught in a chaotic melee and surrounded, Su Hao admitted that even he would be in trouble.
“Therefore, I will create nine one-on-one situations and kill them one by one.”
Su Hao’s mind raced, first formulating the basic combat objectives, then deducing the combat process, and finally determining the attack order.
“Little Light, Objective: the nine Grand Tutor martial artists behind me. Metric: movement speed, sort.”
“Sorting successful.”
Nine numbers, from 1 to 9, immediately appeared on Su Hao’s radar. Number 1 indicated the fastest martial artist, followed by 2, then 3, and so on.
Su Hao’s plan was simple.
First, throughout the entire battle, he had to maintain high-speed movement without any stops, to avoid being trapped and surrounded.
Second, he would use the Short Blade in his hand for a surprise, full-power killing blow, ensuring it was a one-hit kill.
Finally, he would prioritize eliminating the fastest opponents first, killing them in order. The advantage of this was that while attacking one opponent, the remaining ones wouldn’t be able to keep up with their pace.
Su Hao took a deep breath, ran at full speed, drew a semicircle, changed direction, and charged alone towards the nine pursuers.
One Grandmaster versus nine Grand Tutors!
Forward with all his might.
Various colored lights began to glow on Su Hao’s armor helmet, and the Long Blade in his hand shimmered with an ethereal mist, making its shape indistinguishable. The ‘Triple Burst’ beneath his metal boots was ready.
The runes on the armor are activated with full power.
With the help of Little Light, draw other runes simultaneously.
‘Earth Spikes’, ‘Fire Ring’, ‘Electric Shock’, ‘Corrosive Mist’ are on standby.
Over a thousand meters, the two sides met in the blink of an eye.
The leading Water-Pattern Cloak Warrior was the fastest, running at the front, followed by the other warriors.
He squinted at the charging silver-armored figures, waved his hands, and drew a circle, saying, ‘Scatter and surround him!’
The Grand Tutor warriors behind him immediately spread out to the left and right, forming a pocket to trap Su Hao.
‘Hey!’ Su Hao couldn’t help but let out a laugh.
It was exactly what he wanted; he was most afraid of them rushing him all at once, swinging their swords wildly.
In that case, Su Hao wouldn’t have to worry about the others and could just take down that Water-Pattern Cloak Warrior first.
He stared intently at the cloaked warrior, his speed increasing and his aura growing stronger.
The leading cloaked warrior also realized Su Hao’s objective was him, but he was fearless. The Long Blade in his hand first darkened, then shone with a dull gray luster. ‘Hardness’ activated, ‘Penetration’ activated. The armor first darkened, flashed with a faint red light, ‘Hardness’ activated, ‘Barrier’ activated.
Who is he?
He is the renowned ‘Invincible Water-Pattern Master’ of Harmony Capital City, and his Beast Pattern, ‘Healing’, is incredibly powerful. Who is he afraid of?
This short ‘Wayfarer’ in front of him?
What a joke!!!
Su Hao looked inexplicably confused. His opponent’s expression gradually became arrogant, then perverse. What was wrong with this person?
However, it didn’t matter to Su Hao. Since the opponent dared to imitate his creation of Rune Long Blades and Harmony Armor to use against him, the outcome was predictable.
In an instant, Su Hao and the cloaked warrior crossed paths at high speed. Su Hao’s speed did not decrease at all as he dashed into the distance, leaving behind his retreating figure.
And the cloaked warrior, who had fallen to the ground with his head severed.
‘???’ The remaining eight warriors, who were ready to attack, were stunned.
Another person stepped forward and said fiercely, ‘Chase!’
Everyone snapped out of their daze and immediately pursued Su Hao.
At the same time, they began to formulate a plan.
‘The ‘Wayfarer’ is very fast, with excellent long-distance assault capabilities, and his attack power is immense. The Long Blades and Harmony Armor we have cannot withstand it. Be careful to dodge during combat.’
“At the same time, do not spread out your positions. Pair up, two by two, to assist and watch out for each other.”
“Objectives, slow down the ‘Wayfarer’, then pair up to entangle him, creating an opportunity for Old Crane to attack.”
“Old Crane, position yourself towards the back and prepare your ‘Demolition’ fist.”
Old Crane was a gaunt old man, appearing even shorter than the others. However, he was still taller than Su Hao, and there was no way to tell he possessed such powerful offensive capabilities.
Soon, Su Hao circled around once more and returned, his Rune energy replenished.
“Here they come! Dodge carefully. Objectives is me. Move closer to me, Seek, find an opening.”
Su Hao approached rapidly, observing the enemy’s formation changes. It seemed they had quickly reacted and found a way to deal with him.
But he was prepared.
“Earth Spikes” activated.
The moment Su Hao stomped his foot, the Rune’s effect flowed into the ground beneath him, causing the entire earth to tremble slightly.
“Pfft pfft pfft!”
Numerous sharp earth spikes burst forth from the ground within the range of the eight martial artists.
The eight martial artists had already sensed something was wrong when the ground began to shift and scattered, narrowly dodging the dense Earth Spikes.
Although the Earth Spikes didn’t injure anyone, they achieved Su Hao’s objective: the enemy’s formation was disrupted.
He was getting close.
“Triple Burst!”
“Boom!”
Su Hao accelerated instantly, raising his Long Blade.
The Grand Tutor martial artist was slightly panicked but didn’t lose composure. He slowed his pace slightly, gathering power to block and dodge Su Hao’s attack.
Su Hao brought down his Long Blade.
“Clang!”
With a shower of sparks, the Grand Tutor’s blade, a Catalyst, deflected Su Hao’s Long Blade to the side. It lost its force and missed its target.
But it wasn’t over yet.
“Electric Shock!”
“Sizzle~”
Electric Shock was channeled through the armor into the opponent’s body, causing a momentary stiffness. Su Hao rotated his body casually, and his left hand’s Short Blade smoothly swept across the opponent’s neck.
Sizzle!
The fine head flew off, and blood sprayed out.
Su Hao continued to step forward without pause.
Two Grand Tutors had already intercepted him.
Fire Ring was activated.
A powerful flame spread outwards with Su Hao at the center.
The damage was not great, but the momentum was immense. The two Grand Tutor warriors immediately stopped their advance, retreated, and watched Su Hao run further away.
