Chapter 161 – The Flowers Have Fallen

Chapter 161 – The Flowers Have Fallen

Bilan tightly covered her mouth with her pale jade-like hands to stifle her sobs. What was she witnessing? The most terrifying illusion? Emerging from the White Tower was not Kangkai but Punk!

The figure clad in black Mage Robes approached the three waiting outside the White Tower with leisurely steps, holding an emerald staff in one hand and Kangkai’s severed head in the other. Blood still dripped from the torn neck of Kangkai, his frozen expression revealing only endless shock and resignation.

Kangkai was dead—the Kangkai who had sworn to defeat evil and save everyone—dead at Punk’s hands.

“How… how could this be? Why… why has it come to this…”

Tears streamed down the maiden’s face, dripping onto her fair neck. No matter how much Bilan refused to believe it, no matter how many times she told herself “this is just a nightmare, this isn’t real,” she couldn’t change the brutal reality before her.

Her so-called justice had not triumphed over evil. In this battle, Punk had emerged victorious!

“No! No! You vile mage! How… how dare you kill Lord Kangkai!”

Dichiduo raised his fists and charged furiously at Punk. But the moment he reached him, the Deflection Field effortlessly shoved him aside, sending him tumbling to the ground. His pristine robes were stained disgracefully by the mud.

“What, surprised?”

Punk coldly scanned the enraged Kangkai’s remains, the grieving Bilan, and the silent Lotalan before delivering his ice-cold words with an expressionless face:

“What level of intellect makes you believe those childish knight tales? What manner of ignorance leads you to think a foolish ranger could defeat a prepared mage? What brand of stupidity gives you the audacity to wait here with such… unwarranted confidence?”

“Silence! Lord Kangkai was not foolish! He taught us what true goodness means! Though I’m weak now, one day I’ll grow stronger and avenge Teacher Kangkai—”

“Thwick!!”

A piercing sound of penetration cut Dichiduo’s speech short. His declaration would remain unfinished—forever.

Blood trickled from Dichiduo’s lips as he slowly looked down, disbelief washing over him. A translucent energy hand had pierced through his chest, firmly clutching his still-beating crimson heart.

“Riiip!!”

Punk showed no hesitation at Dichiduo’s shock. He mercilessly manipulated the Mage Hand to yank backward. In the next instant, Dichiduo’s heart was torn from his chest. The snapping of arteries and veins echoed clearly as blood-drenched vessels retracted like broken rubber bands. The crimson heart continued its futile beating within the Mage Hand’s grasp.

Torrents of blood dyed Dichiduo’s robes scarlet. Under the morning sun’s radiance, the youth’s pupils slowly dilated as his slender body collapsed heavily into the expanding pool of blood.

“Perhaps some vow I once made gave you such courage. But you likely never realized—I neither care nor wish to care about such things as oaths.

By the way, I don’t worship any gods. Including that imbecilic Goddess of Magic.”After speaking, Punk forcefully crushed Dichiduo’s heart, allowing the squeezed fragments to fall onto the ground, slowly writhing in the blood-stained mud.

The wind ceased, the clouds dispersed, and the flowers fell…

Bilan stared vacantly as Punk tore out Dichiduo’s heart. She then collapsed like a broken puppet, only her limbs twitching unconsciously, her delicate face gradually turning pale.

“No, no, nonononono AAAAAAA, this isn’t real isn’t real isn’t real isn’t real isn’t real isn’t real isn’t real…”

The moment Dichiduo was pierced, Bilan seemed to hear the shattering sound from the depths of her heart. Pain countless times more intense than “Sub-Soul Extraction” instantly tore through every inch of the girl’s soul.

Staggering to Dichiduo’s corpse, Bilan knelt on the blood-soaked ground. Her trembling jade-like hands vainly attempted to fill the continuously bleeding hole. Gently cradling the boy’s cold face, she felt her lover’s body gradually grow colder as large teardrops fell uncontrollably.

Bilan wept, wailing like a newborn infant, crying like a warbeast wandering in the cold – helpless, lost.

One day ago, she had obtained happiness. One day later, all her happiness had turned into a cold corpse, devoid of any warmth.

Despair, sorrow, pain, helplessness – countless agonies and chilling cold enveloped the girl layer by layer, clinging to every corner of her marrow like maggots feeding on bones.

In this moment, the girl witnessed the entire world collapsing before her eyes.

No matter how despairing and sorrowful Bilan’s weeping was, Punk’s heart remained completely unmoved from beginning to end.

“Though you appear genuinely sorrowful, I must inform you of two unfortunate news. First, this Little Boy’s faith wasn’t sufficient for him to enter the God Realm, so the River of Fate has likely completely consumed him by now. Second – I will transform you into the core soul of Golem Two. You’re destined to be unable to accompany him, though perhaps this isn’t so bad. At least I’ll erase your emotions, isn’t that right?”

Punk spoke without tonal inflection while simultaneously retrieving a crystal-clear Magic Gem from his Storage Ring, then methodically prepared the soul extraction spell.

But Bilan, who had been continuously weeping, seemed completely unresponsive to everything. As the saying goes, there is no grief greater than the death of the heart – from the moment Dichiduo died, everything became utterly meaningless to Bilan.

“Formal-Level Alchemy Magic – Sub-Soul Extraction.”

Bilan’s soul was effortlessly extracted into the gem. From start to finish, the girl offered no reaction beyond weeping.

Bilan’s “corpse,” now devoid of its soul, collapsed onto Dichiduo’s body, her exquisite face nestling against the boy’s chest. Both appeared merely asleep, except there was no longer any rise and fall of breathing.

Puck calmly stored the gem, then turned to face the silently watching Lotalan.

“Your turn…”

Punk gazed into Lotalan’s tear-filled eyes and stated flatly, as if simply stating an ordinary daily fact, as commonplace as asking “have you eaten.”After hearing Punk’s stated “facts,” Lotalan slowly walked up to him. Her delicate leather shoes tapped firmly against the ground, and her golden ponytail danced in the wind. Tilting her head upward, she asked softly:

“If I said I fell in love with you from the first moment we met, would the esteemed Lord Punk spare this humble girl?”

“Unfortunately, no!”

Punk’s reply was brutally straightforward. He gently placed his staff atop Lotalan’s head, where the emerald tip gleamed against her golden locks.

“Then… after death, will I have a chance to become your aid?”

Feeling a surge of icy energy flood her mind and her vision gradually blurring, Lotalan whispered her final question almost inaudibly.

“Probably yes.”

Punk replied indifferently. In the next instant, a powerful spell instantly tore the girl’s soul from her body.

“In that case… I am content…”

With the girl’s last murmur, a single tear slowly trailed down…
