Chapter 163 – Slaughter
Chapter 163 – Slaughter
Identical colossal metal gates materialized at every entrance along Doleiz City’s walls. The once-protective ramparts now transformed into cages trapping all within.
Yet most citizens remained unaware of their tragic fate as caged birds. With the thickening storm clouds, the afternoon sky darkened to twilight hues. Women hurriedly collected laundry, vendors loaded goods onto carts, and children continued playing despite adult admonitions…
At the main gate, a black-robed figure advanced steadily toward the bustling city. Navigating around potholes and protruding stones, he proceeded toward the newly constructed residential district.
Punk hummed a melody from the Ancient Elven Tongue – “Hymn to Life” – his footsteps firm yet soundless, his gaze icy yet intensely focused.
He now sought the final sacrifice for his “Foul Divination,” employing the simplest method: killing anyone he encountered.
With the plague recently ended and Dillon Kingdom’s investigation team at least three days from reaching Doleiz, nothing could hinder Punk now.
Like a lion entering a sheepfold, Punk approached the unsuspecting lambs unaware of their impending doom. The Emerald Staff’s tip began glowing with magical radiance as one “Kinetic Burst” after another targeted both newly constructed buildings and… the bewildered crowds!
What terror might a Formal-Level powerhouse unleash when unrestrained? Any witness arriving at Doleiz would now understand.
The city’s storm had finally arrived!
Thunder cracked across the cloud-choked sky, occasional flashes tearing through the gloom. Dark clouds churned like lurking predators, descending until distant thunder grew nearer. Winds intensified, culminating in Torrential Rain.
Destructive echoes reverberated through the city as building fragments mingled with flesh soared skyward. Blood saturated the earth crimson, the downpour failing to drown out the dying’s wails.
Purple glimmers flashed through the rain curtain while crimson sprays flowed with rainwater through rubble. Ear-splitting detonations tore the ground as piercing screams shredded the air.
Destruction’s fingers danced across the keyboard called Doleiz City, composing a symphony of ruin…

Eventually, the raging storm over Doleiz subsided. Noon’s brilliant sunlight pierced the dense clouds, forming luminous pillars connecting heaven and earth. Glimmering dust motes swirled slowly around these radiant columns…
Perched on the Lord’s Castle ruins, Punk gazed down while catching his breath, surveying what was once called “Doleiz City.”
Not a single structure remained intact. Extensive high-temperature spells had incinerated wooden debris while devastating kinetic magic had shattered sturdy masonry. The rain-soaked rubble now contained only filthy paste formed from mingled ashes and flesh.”The materials are prepared. It’s time to retrieve my Legendary Equipment.”
After quickly restoring his mana through meditation, Punk stood up. He retrieved a barrel filled with minced flesh of Bahanger and Kangkai from his Ring, then poured its contents over the ruins of the Lord’s Castle, allowing the purplish-black blood to flow down the grimy stones.
“Soth—Uketana—Gornovitetile…”
Punk focused intently, channeling mana to construct the spell model while softly chanting the ancient incantation.
The moment the spell completed, an aura of extreme filth descended without a sound. This ultimate impurity far surpassed all worldly filth and decay; even a mere wisp of it carried a soul-penetrating defilement and chaos.
Upon sensing this foulness that even he, a Formal-Level powerhouse, could barely endure, Punk immediately understood who the “Great Being” mentioned in the spellbook referred to—it was the embodiment of chaos in the Multiverse, another semi-principle existence at the God-Throne level: the Bird of Filth.
Seeing this deity, Punk wasn’t concerned about being torn apart inexplicably. Though the Bird of Filth was the manifestation of “Chaos,” it was also bound by the Multiverse’s restrictions and couldn’t kill a sacrificer without reason.
The foul aura slowly coalesced before Punk, eventually forming the shape of a crow.
“Kaw kaw kaw kaw, another creature who has made a wise choice. Choosing the power of Chaos is your luckiest decision. Now, I have seen your offering. Following the ancient, damned contract, you may ask me one question.”
Hearing the Bird of Filth’s intrigued words, Punk avoided looking directly at it. The all-corrupting foul power was not something a Formal-Level being could perceive safely, so he immediately posed his prepared question without engaging in further dialogue.
Seeing Punk even retract his perception to the extreme, the Bird of Filth shook its head in boredom and spoke in a nauseating voice:
“Kaw kaw, two Formal-Level Order adherents’ corpses, a pile of ordinary Order followers’ minced flesh, and a destroyed Order city? I am quite satisfied with this offering. The information you seek has been placed in your mind. I look forward to your next sacrifice, kaw kaw kaw kaw. Remember, Order is doomed to destruction—only Chaos is eternal!”
With that, the Bird of Filth’s form exploded into a burst of foul aura, but it took nothing from the countless corpses littering Doleiz City. From beginning to end, all it desired was the fact that a great amount of “Order” had been destroyed!
Only after the Bird of Filth’s aura dissipated did Punk release his perception again. Though its descent lacked earth-shattering pressure, it held a far more terrifying and unfathomable mystery. Punk knew it was something utterly beyond his current comprehension.
“Regardless, the location of the Legendary Equipment is finally found, but this spell is truly treacherous.”
While rejoicing over finding the Legendary Equipment, Punk inwardly cursed the deceptive nature of the “Foul Divination.”Through the System’s soul detection, Punk suddenly discovered that a barely perceptible trace of foul aura had stealthily infiltrated the depths of his soul. Without the System’s meticulous scanning, any other sacrificer would have remained completely unaware.
Beyond being notoriously difficult to remove, the most terrifying aspect of this foul aura was—as its quantity increased, its corrupting power would grow exponentially.
A single trace couldn’t significantly affect a Formal-Level soul at all, at most causing some insomnia. By the time one advanced to Master-Level, the soul’s evolution during major realm advancement would be sufficient to eradicate this single foul aura.
Two traces were still barely tolerable. Though they would make one considerably more irritable, reaching the Legendary realm would allow the soul’s great leap during advancement to easily disperse two foul auras.
But if it reached three traces… before any countermeasures could be taken, the foul aura would instantly erupt with power to corrupt one’s entire soul, turning you into a complete madman.
“These bastards really know how to play dirty! The Foul Divination spell can be used at most one more time—there absolutely cannot be a third.”
Punk silently engraved this warning in his heart.
